Bridging Worlds: Book 1 Celestoria's Time

Chapter Silhouettes in Celestial Mourning

-Celestoria-

Upon realization that Hargan didn’t remember any of their journey, Rosche decided to keep it to herself for now until she finds a way to bring Hargan’s memories back. She followed Hargan to the king’s study room, where she was welcomed by King Altair. He gestured for her to take a seat near him as Hargan left, closing the door behind him.

Rosche sat and their conversation began on a light note.

“How’s your injury?” the king asked.

“It’s all healed now, thank you, your majesty,” Rosche expressed her gratitude.

The king smiled and asked, “Before we continue, could you tell me your name, young lady?”

Rosche was about to kneel, but the king intervened, saying, “No need for that, especially since you’re injured.”

Nevertheless, Rosche persisted in kneeling. “I am a traveler from a distant land,” she replied cautiously, avoiding the disclosure of her actual name due to the peculiar circumstances surrounding her presence.

The king responded, “Yes, you’ve mentioned that. And you know, the reason I brought you here is because I want to know what happened in the forest before our arrival. Your cooperation is vital for the kingdom, and I hope you’re willing to work with us.”

Rosche nodded in agreement, stating, “Certainly, your majesty. As I mentioned earlier, I was on my way to my mother when the distressing incident occurred but please forgive me, as my observations were limited.”

Recognizing the limitations, the king understood that he couldn’t impose obligations on a foreigner from another land.

As Rosche exited the room, a wave of guilt and helplessness washed over her. The weight of her inability to intervene in the upcoming events left her feeling burdened. She couldn’t shake the feeling of being an outsider in a world where she had limited influence.

The sight of white banners scattered throughout the kingdom, symbolizing mourning for the grand prince’s death. It reminded her the somber atmosphere in present-day Celestoria, where grief loomed for the king’s death in the future.
