Bridging Worlds: Book 1 Celestoria's Time

Chapter Rosche's Journey in Celestoria

-Silverbark Forest-

In the aftermath of the mysterious events, General Oromon and King Altair arrived at the scene, only to find it eerily clean, as if someone had already taken care of the fallen bodies. Determined to unravel the truth, the king ordered his men to search the area while General Oromon took charge.

As King Altair scanned the surroundings, a faint sound caught his attention – the distinct noise of earth being moved.

Intrigued, he followed the sound and discovered Rosche, diligently burying the bodies of the fallen soldiers. Shocked by his unexpected presence, Rosche, recognizing the king, fell into a momentary daze. The reality of encountering King Altair in the past time, alive and well, left her momentarily speechless.

After the initial shock wore off, Rosche composed herself and knelt in a gesture of respect.

Knowing that she had crucial information to report to the king about the tragedy that unfolded, she hesitated. A realization gnawed at her conscience – the future she knew might be altered if she revealed the truth, especially considering the potential role of Elysum as the Darkbane leader instead of Vernit in the future.

Attempting to conceal her true identity, she introduced herself as a traveler passing through. The king, however, keenly observed her demeanor, sensing there was more to her story.

Engaging in a brief conversation, King Altair questioned, “What brings you to this desolate place, traveler?”

Rosche, carefully choosing her words, responded, “While making my way to a nearby city to visit my mother, I unexpectedly came across a disturbing sight—a horrendous fight.”

The king’s discerning gaze lingered on her, and he noticed the signs of injury that Rosche was trying to conceal. Concern etched his features as he insisted, “You appear wounded. Come with me to the palace; our healers will tend to your injuries.”

Despite the multitude of questions swirling in King Altair’s mind, recognizing that Rosche might hold the key to unraveling the mysteries of the Grim Waste, he made the deliberate choice to prioritize her healing. Understanding the importance of Rosche’s physical well-being, the king decided to allow the traveler the necessary time to recover before delving into the inquiries that weighed heavily on both of their minds.

With careful consideration, Rosche accepted the king’s offer for assistance, recognizing the importance of her own mission within the palace. Her decisions bore the weight of caution and a strategic approach. Unbeknownst to King Altair, Rosche’s acceptance was a calculated step, aligning her own agenda. Silently determined, she agreed to the journey, aware that both her healing and the pursuit of her mission awaited within the palace’s walls.

General Oromon, along with the troops, completed the solemn task of burying the fallen soldiers. In a thoughtful gesture, King Altair decided to retrieve the body of the Grand Prince, Markus, specifically for Markus’s daughter, Freia. The preparations for their return to the palace began, a somber procession laden with the weight of loss and the responsibility to deliver closure to the grieving.

-Celestoria-

Upon their arrival at the palace under the cover of night, Rosche, in the company of King Altair, General Oromon, and the Ecclipsarian troops, underwent the necessary treatment for her injuries. Within the quiet confines of the healing chambers, the burden of delivering the tragic news about Grand Prince Markus fell on King Altair’s shoulders, as he shared the somber truth with Princess Freia. In the face of profound grief, Freia sought solace in the attempts of those around her to provide comfort.

In a separate chamber, Hargan appeared to relay the king’s request for Rosche’s presence. Filled with gratitude at the sight of Hargan, Rosche exclaimed, “Hargan! Thank you for finally being here. I almost lost my life searching for you!”

Perplexed, Hargan replied, “Milady, what are you talking about?”

With unwavering insistence, Rosche asserted, “What do you mean? We traveled back in time. How can you forget our mission in coming here?”

“I don’t know what you are talking about, milady,” Hargan admitted.

A sober realization dawned upon Rosche – Hargan had lost his memories. Now confronted with the challenge of this unexpected twist, she understood that she had to navigate the situation on her own. Driven by determination, Rosche prepared herself for the intricate task of awakening Hargan to the reality of their mission.
