Chapter Benson 79

Chapter 79 The Pain on the Wall

Despite Mary’s status, Yvonne had never sought her out before, believing the root of such issues lay with the man.

But as Mary continued to provoke her, Yvonne decided it was time for a “talk.

“Want a Coke or coffee? Mary asked, sounding like a hostess, her tone tinged with

smugness and provocation.

“There’s no need for drinks. I’m here to hit you,” Yvonne said calmly and firmly, as if stating the most ordinary thing.

Mary’s eyes flashed with surprise, but before she could react, Yvonne grabbed her hair fiercely.

Yvonne’s fingers dug into Mary’s scalp with such force that Mary nearly screamed in pain. Yvonne’s eyes were cold as ice, her movements decisive and powerful, with no hesitation. She pulled hard, slamming Mary’s head into the wall.

The wall made a dull thud from the impact, and Mary’s body trembled with pain, her face showing anguish and fear.

Yvonne’s face remained expressionless, her eyes showing determination and ruthlessness. as if carrying out a task that had to be completed.

She didn’t stop, repeatedly slamming Mary’s head into the wall until Mary collapsed weakly to the floor.

Yvonne stood by, coldly watching everything, feeling no pity, only a calm satisfaction of completing a task.

Then, Yvonne’s hand swiftly rose and slapped Mary hard across the face.

Each slap echoed sharply, leaving clear red marks on Mary’s cheeks.

Yvonne’s actions were continuous and forceful, seemingly releasing some long-

suppressed emotions.

By the time Benson arrived, Mary’s cries echoed through the room, her body curled up from the pain.

Yvonne stood by, her elbow resting on the armrest of the sofa, looking innocent. Her eyes showed no regret as she watched Mary, as if admiring her handiwork.

Seeing Benson, Mary weakly propped herself up and fell into his arms.

Tears fell like broken pearls, her body trembling slightly, appearing incredibly fragile.

Benson didn’t want this foolish woman close to him, but soci

he didn’t push her away.

His voice was cool, with a hint of impatience, “What’s going on?”

“Miss Mary, why don’t you tell him what happened?” Yvonne said as if he were just an

irrelevant person, not her husband. Her tone was sarcastic and cold, as if watching a play unrelated to herself.

From the moment he said, “What’s wrong with you this time?” Yvonne knew that in their marriage, he had never reflected on himself.

He didn’t want to give his heart, so there was no right or wrong.

At that moment, he became an irrelevant stranger to her. So, whoever he was holding now, she really didn’t care.

Mary, crying pitifully, recounted how Yvonne slapped her and smashed her head against the wall.

Her voice trembled, and tears fell like broken pearls, her body trembling slightly, appearing incredibly fragile.

Yvonne found it irritating, her brows furrowed, eyes showing impatience and disgust. “Why don’t you tell him why I hit you?” Her voice carried undeniable authority.

After all, she was a woman who had made her mark in the business world, and her stern stunned for a moment, then hid in Benson’s arms,

crying softly without speaking.

Yvonne rolled her eyes and played an audio recording on her phone.

Mary’s voice said, “With that disgraceful look seen by everyone, how can she stay in Las Vegas? Let’s see if Benson still wants her”

“Make sure Anthony sticks to this story. You’ll benefit from it…”

The recording continued with a conversation between Zoe and Mary.

At this point, Mary could only weakly say, “This… this is synthesized.”

Her voice was weak, her eyes showing fear and unease, as if dreading the coming storm.

Benson pushed Mary aside and walked over to Yvonne.

Looking down at her for a long moment, he finally said, “You knew all along. That

supplementary agreement with five times the penalty wasn’t to restrain her actions; it was your calculation.” His voice was cold and questioning, as if scrutinizing a cunning opponent.

His wife, he had truly underestimated her. His eyes flashed with complex emotions, quickly replaced by indifference.

Yvonne looked up at the man before her, still as handsome a

arrogance

But those eyes that once moved her now seemed so cold and heartless.

Hearing others plot against his wife in such a way, his first reaction wasn’t concern but questioning if she knew about it earlier?

Yvonne felt an indescribable pain in her heart, like being slowly cut with a blunt knife, painful yet unspeakable.

Yvonne’s heart ached dully. She stood up slowly and firmly, as if declaring her decision to the world.

Her

eyes showed determination and resolve, as if telling Benson she would no longer be hurt by his indifference

“Yes, at the dinner where Zoe asked you to mediate, I wondered who could have such power to get Young Master Benson.” Her voice carried sarcasm and self–mockery, as if laughing at her own naivety and stupidity.

“When Zoe was driven to desperation, you sent Bella to Reno.” Her voice carried anger and disappointment, as if questioning Benson’s heartlessness.

“Yes,” Yvonne replied, her voice calm and firm, as if telling Benson she had seen through his true nature.

At that moment, she knew Mary was the mastermind. From knowing to actually acting took some time. She didn’t know what she was waiting for.

Now she knew, she was waiting for Benson’s reaction to the news.

But he still disappointed her. Yvonne’s heart was full of disappointment and pain, her eyes showing deep fatigue and helplessness.

“You really can, Y

can, Yvonne,” Benson’s voice carried a barely noticeable tremor, his eyes complex as he looked at her.

A hint of a proud smile appeared on Yvonne’s face. Her plan had completely caught him off guard, giving her an unprecedented sense of satisfaction.

She had calculated everything. Whether it was the compensation for Mary as a high–risk artist or her desire for a divorce. As long as she had the recording, if he refused to sign, she could release it online at any time.

Yvonne’s eyes sparkled with cunning. She knew this recording was her trump card, enough. to make Benson yield.

Not only would Mary’s career be ruined, but his film investment company would likely see its stock plummet.

Yvonne’s mind envisioned the collapse of Benson’s company stock, filling her with a sense of revenge.

She knew this blow would make Benson pay a heavy price.

Seeing Benson’s troubled expression, Yvonne felt good. She playfully fiddled with his

Her eyes held a hint of mockery, as if savoring Benson’s discomfort.

“Dear, see you at the civil affairs office tomorrow?”
