Chapter 6
Chapter 6.1
As soon as Logan saw me, his face went pale..
“Chloe, please, let me explain…”
”
Before he could continue, Bella spoke up arrogantly, “Logan, why are you so scared? Isn’t this your house too?” Harry, oblivious to the tension, pointed a toy gun at me and made shooting sounds.
Ignoring them, I pulled out my phone to call the police. Logan rushed over to stop me, pleading as he asked Bella to take Harry and leave.
Though Bella hesitated, she eventually left with her son, looking defiant but clearly rattled.
As soon as they were gone, I slapped Logan hard across the face.
To my surprise, he didn’t retaliate. Instead, he looked down, showing a rare expression of shame.
“Bella forced me to bring her here,” he mumbled. ‘She threatened to cause trouble at my job if I didn’t agree. I had no choice but to find a locksmith…”
So that was how it happened. But why should I care about his problems?
“Logan,” I said calmly, “have you read the divorce agreement? I’ve been generous by not kicking you out immediately. Don’t test my patience. We’re going to finalize the divorce tomorrow. I won’t press charges for breaking and entering.” Panic flickered in Logan’s eyes. “Chiloe, I don’t want a divorce. I regret everything. I love you and Mia. Please, give me
another chance.”
I laughed bitterly. “You don’t love me. You just don’t want to lose your free caretaker and the comfort of this home.” Bella was his ideal, the woman he adored, even at the cost of neglecting his own daughter.
But pretending to be perfect forever is impossible.
Realizing I was unmoved, Logan couldn’t bear it anymore.
He switched tactics. “Think about Mia. She needs her father. Just give me a chance. I promise I’ll change. I’ll never see Bella again!”
I sneered. “You’ve heard the saying, ‘A leopard can’t change its spots,‘ haven’t you?”
Logan’s face turned ashen.
He was used to being in control and had never been spoken to like this.
Desperate, he tried to bargain. “Fine, you can have the divorce, but the house is mine.”
I rolled my eyes at his audacity.
The property was worth millions of dollars, and he expected to claim it without contributing anything significant. It was his wishful thinking.
“Logan, you must be dreaming. How could you even think this house belongs to you?”
His expression darkened, and he adopted a defiant stance.
“If you don’t give me the house, I won’t agree to the divorce. Let’s see who gives in first!”
Chapter 6.2
Chapter 6.2
Fcouldn’t believe the man I had once shared my life with had become so shameless.
I was tolerant and thought that he was Mia’s biological father after all. Even if he was cruel to us, I could not be unkind.
to him.
I had been fair in the divorce agreement, offering to split our assets equally and even leaving him our car worth three hundred thousand dollars.
But his greed knew no bounds.
That night, I reviewed the surveillance footage from my home.
What I Saw made my stomach churn.
Logan had been bringing Bella and her son into our home regularly.
Logan had been bringing Bella and her son into our home regularly.
I wondered if they had used my living room and bedroom for their sordid activities, completely disregarding any sense of decency.
Logan had no idea that I had installed a comprehensive surveillance system after Mia’s hospitalization to ensure her safety. Their actions were recorded in detail.
They really ended up losing the rice while trying to steal the chicken!
The original intention was to prevent Bella from having evil intentions to harm Mia again, but I didn’t expect that I accidentally recorded the evidence of Logan’s betrayal of our marriage.
Now I had irrefutable evidence of Logan’s betrayal.
Since he refused to accept my fair offer, I decided to take decisive action.
I contacted a lawyer friend and filed for divorce.
This time, I demanded he leave with nothing.
On the day Logan received the court summons, he was so furious that he blocked me at the door of my office. “Chloe, have you no shame? Filing for divorce like this?”
I stared at him, unflinching. “Who’s shameless? You cheated and neglected your family. You don’t get to accuse me.” Logan’s denial was swift. “What proof do you have? Bella and I did nothing wrong. It’s you who’s paranoid and
insecure!”
“Innocent?” I scoffed. He clearly didn’t know I had those explicit videos.
I looked at him coldly. “Logan, I gave you every chance to make things right. But you crossed the line. Don’t blame me for what happens next.”
With that, I turned and walked away without looking back, leaving Logan to grapple with the consequences of his
actions.
