Chapter 34
There's only one word to describe dinner. Awkward. Enzo and Thazar were the only two chatting, discussing how things were going. I was playing with the now cold pasta on my plate, and Kyle found great interest in the table cloth. I could feel someone burning holes in the side of my face and it didn't take a genius to guess who it was. The man had a death wish. Draco leaned forward, stealing a pasta noodle from my plate.
"Do you have someone to show us to our chambers?" Enzo asked suddenly.
Thazar was surprised by the change of topic. "Oh of course! Girl 2!" He yelled out. Girl 2? They didn't have names? A short timid girl rushed in, standing silently next to him. "Please show our guests to their rooms."
"Yes sir," She walked over standing behind me," please, if you all would follow me." It was obvious now that I was the least intimidating to her, even with the wings and dragon.
I couldn't get away from that table fast enough. Even as we walked out I could still feel his stare following me. "I'll kill him now if he's making you uncomfortable." My eyes snapped up to find Enzo watching me.
"I'm ok." I could handle stares, I used to get them all the time when I first dropped.
Girl 2 lead us down several halls before stopping at two doors. I wish I had been paying attention so I'd know how to get to the bathroom from here. Opening the first door for us it was a large room with a huge bed in the middle. "Made for two." She says.
Enzo nodded at her, then reached back for my hand to follow him in. The room wasn't decorated exquisitely like I was expecting. The only good thing was that it was huge and the bed looked like heaven. Everything else was your necessities. Closet, mirror, and TV. It didn't even have a private bathroom. "Why do I get the feeling we're unwanted guests?" He asks, placing our luggage Kyle gave to him on the bed.
"I thought only I was feeling like that." Flopping down next to the bags I kicked off my shoes. "They don't have much respect for you do they?" I joked. Draco jumped from my shoulder, finding a more comfortable spot on the bed, on one of the many pillows.
He frowned, "They've forgotten who's in charge because I don't visit other levels often. Tigan...insists on testing me, looking for a weakness. He believes you're that weakness, he might try to use you against me in some way to gain power."
I scoffed,"He'll fail, you have no weakness." He watched me as I waited for him to agree.
"You are my weakness Valentina." I frowned."But also my strength, I feel sorry for any son of a bitch that tries to take you away from me."
I didn't say anything to that, choosing to unpack my pajamas instead. "Do you remember where the bathroom is?"
He smirked crossing his arms. "To change? You can change right here, I don't mind."
"I know you're a pervert and all, but I have to pee. Feels like something is sitting on my bladder."
He chuckled,"That something is most likely my son."
I shook my head,"I'm barely two months, there's no way he should be bigger than a ball."
"You must've forgotten it's my child you're carrying, not a human baby. Anything is possible."
"Is it possible for you to just show me where the bathroom is and shut up?" I cocked my head at him, hands on my hip.
He bent his finger in a 'come here' motion and my eyes widened when I started floating across the room against my will. He wrapped his arms around me when I was within grabbing distance. "Always with the smart mouth." Bringing his mouth down to mine he bit my bottom lip, then pulled it into his mouth. "Come on, stop trying to seduce me." I glared at his back when he pulled away, pulling me out the room.
"If I was trying to seduce you, you'd be naked in bed already." I say, with an air of cockiness to my words.
He stopped, making me smack into his back. "Have you ever been spanked Valentina?" I blushed furiously at his question, he grinned. "There's a first time for everything."
"The bathroom!"
It took us nearly fifteen minutes to reach the bathroom. Why the heck was it so far away? "I'll wait outside the door, unless you want me to come in..." He says, stopping at the door.
I pushed pass him. "Outside is fine." I shuffled pass the mirror to the toilet, making sure I don't accidently dip my wings into toilet water. A relieved sigh left me as I peed, I've been holding this since the forest.
After washing my hands I opened the door to find Enzo gone. That bastard. Walking in the direction we came from I tried tracing our steps. When it came time to turn in a hallway my mind blanked. Why didn't I pay attention on the way here? I took a left, hoping for the best.
Twenty minutes later and I cursed Enzo over and over. It's his fault I'm lost! Why would he leave me?
I just turned down a hallway when I spotted our room door. I smiled in triumphant, I knew I could do it. Time to give Enzo a piece of my mind for leaving me.
I pushed the door open halting at the scene before me. Two bodies were moving together sounds of pleasure coming from them. The body on top I knew all too well, while the other was a stranger.
My heart clenched in my chest. They were too into each other to notice me standing there, and witness my heart breaking into a million pieces. I stumbled back, catching Enzo's attention. He stared blankly, a cold look in his eyes.
I turned rushing from the room. Why would he do this to me? Did he bring me here just to show he didn't need me? Tears started to blur my vision as I ran. Running from the heartbreak and betrayal I felt. I had to get out of here! I needed Jacob.
Turning a corner I smacked into something hard. They caught me from falling. "Thank yo-" I felt a pinch in the side of my neck. Oh God, not again. My body started falling over, then everything went black.
I was drifting in and out of consciousness. Pain, there was so much of it. In my chest and my lower abdomen. Why did it hurt so bad? What was happening to me?
"It's happening! We need to keep her awake."
It was becoming hard to breath. I tried taking in as much air as possible, only to scream when a wave of pain hit me. "Make it stop!" I begged.
"She's not going to make it!" A voice yelled out.
"She will!" Soft hands grabbed my arms. I tried to open my eyes but they felt too heavy. Another wave of pain came, I cried out. "You need to push Valentina!" Push? Push what?
There was a sharp pain between my legs. I cried out, trying to curl into a ball, but the hands held me in place. "Push!" The voice sounded urgent, panic even. I pushed, hoping to ease some of this pain, but it only intensified it. Giving one final push with what little strength I had left, darkness took me again.
Rayne
I looked down at Valentina's sleeping form, tears coming to my eyes.
"She'll be ok." I looked over at Jacob, then to the bundle he was holding. We use pieces of our clothing to make a sort of blanket.
"Will he be ok?"
He nodded."He's healthy, fully grown. Impossible, but I don't know what to expect anymore when it comes to Tina." Rocking back and forth he made cooing noises at the baby we just delivered.
"We have to hide him, they'll be back soon." I feared what they'll do when they see the baby.
He sighed, looking as scared as I felt. We needed Valentina to wake up before they came back. She was our only hope in getting out of her. I pray she'll be strong enough against them.
