Alpha’s Rejected Second Chance Mate by Pradeep

Chapter 118

Chapter 118

Theo’s P.O.V.

“Take rest now. I will call you for dinner when the dinner is ready,” I instructed Crystal while tucking her inside the sheet. “But I didn’t want to sleep now. I want to stay with Mom Martha and Luna Elena,” she protested while sitting up once again. She was pouting while giving me a puppy look.

I sighed helplessly and nodded in defeat. She knew how to make me bend to her wishes. “Okay… but mind–link me if you feel tired or any discomfort,” I instructed her and she immediately bobbed her head while grinning widely.

“I will be back to you soon,” I said further and she narrowed her eyes in confusion. “Where are you going?” she asked me when I was about to stand up. She also got off the bed with me. “Adam asked me to meet him in the garden. So, I am going to meet him,” I told her where I was going while walking towards the door with her.

“What happened? Is everything okay with him?” she asked me in a concerned tone, making me glare at her. Thunder also growled lowly in displeasure. She immediately wrapped her hands around my arm and leaned on my arm. “He is just like a family, love. You know that I love you with all my heart,” she coaxed me while blinking innocently.

I knew that her concern for Adam was just a sisterly concern, still, I felt possessive whenever she mentioned him, or said anything about him. “I know,” I said, k*ssing her forehead. She grinned again and we headed towards the stairs.

I left her in the living room where my mother, her mother and Luna Elena were already sitting. I went straight towards the backyard door. We had a beautiful and long garden in the backyard of the pack house. I was him standing near the fountain. I jogged to him and stopped beside him.

He looked at me, and I cocked my brows when I saw a troubled expression on his face. “What happened?” I asked him in a calm tone. “Let’s talk while walking,” he said and I nodded. We both started walking around the garden.

It was already evening, but there was still some light left. There were a few omegas working in the garden. They bowed in front of us when they saw us, making me respond to their gesture by giving them a curd nod. Adam was

silent, and I decided to give him time to say what he wanted to say to me.

“What do you think of Crystal’s decision?” Adam asked me, and I knitted my brows in confusion. I knew what he was talking about, but he didn’t raise any questions when we were talking about that during the meeting. “What about it?” I asked him in a confused tone.

He didn’t answer me but looked in front of us with blank eyes. He asked me to take a stroll with him after we finished our meeting. Adam and I were not friends, but we had a good relationship back then. Things went ugly when I found Crystal as my mate, I guess we should let the bygones be bygones. We also start afresh.

“Crystal has known you her whole life, Adam. She knows you better than me. I don’t want to say that, but after what happened between you two, if she still recommends you, then, I will support her in all her decisions. That pack is her responsibility as Nelson’s daughter, but if she thinks you’re a good choice, then I don’t think that anyone should have any problem. She has forgiven you, and so did everyone else,” I said again in a calm and firm tone.

“You know me too, Theo,” he said in a low tone. “Instead of me, you should ask William about this. He is your best friend and knows better than me what is best for you,” I replied to him, and he chuckled dryly. He didn’t say a word, but I could see pain on his face. Adam was not good at hiding his emotions, and this was his only drawback.”

“You miss him,” I whispered, and Adam took his lower l*p in between his teeth. I guess now it was time for Adam and William to talk about their differences. “Talk to him, Adam. He is going back tonight. If possible, go with him,” I said to him in the same low tone.

“You are Crystal’s mate, Theo, but she is like a daughter to him. You don’t have any problem with my rejection of her but Crystal is his only weakness, and I made her cry. He can forgive everything but not this,” he said in a painful tone, making me grimace, but he was right.

I was angry in the beginning but I soon realized that it was because of his rejection that I got her as my mate. So, my anger towards him evaporates with time. I took a deep breath and just bobbed my head lightly.

“You know what he is suffering these days, right?” I asked him in a low tone and his face went ugly immediately, making me knit my brows in confusion.

“What happened?” I asked him in a concerned tone.

He didn’t say a word but lowered his head, and I saw guilt on his face. A thought suddenly appeared in my mind, making my breath hitch. “What happened, Adam?” I asked him again, this time in a fearful tone.

my

“That was the worst day of my life, Theo. After my first feed which was a human, I…. I was in so much pain because of the transformation. My b*dy was refusing the transformation, and my heart was getting str… stronger which was completely… o.. opposite to what happened to others,” he replied and stuttered a few times which made me believe that I was thinking right.

“To… to ease th.. the pain…. Th… they asked me to… to fee… d myself, but I vomited the human blood. Th… then, they… the… they sen…. t her,” he continued but paused in the end. My heart trembled badly. William was already on the verge of losing his sanity because his mate was still coma. If he knew that Adam also fed on her, he would be devastated to death.

“Her name is Victoria,” he whispered, and I gulped hard. I understood why Adam didn’t tell him her name, but things were getting worse them for now. “She w… was so weak at that time that I thought of her as a pup,” he continued telling me and I just stared at him blankly, not knowing what to say.

He took a deep breath and looked in front of him while stopping in his place. “She was already on the verge of death at that time. One feed, and she would have lost her life. I.. I had this urge to save her when they threw her already limp b*dy in my cell,‘ he continued telling me in a daze.

“You saw nothing that I saw at that time, Theo. She… She was nothing but a sack of bones. She… she was in much better condition when William brought her here. But at that time, she had nothing in her b*dy but bones,” he continued with painful eyes, making me gulp hard while imagining Victoria’s condition back then.

He had a very painful expression on her face, and his red eyes were completely blank as if he had been living those moments again. Victoria in the hospital was still only bones, but what Adam told me made me shudder in fear. I didn’t know how William was holding himself after seeing his mate in that condition.

“I refused to… To drink on her blood. (he chuckled dryly while reminiscing about those movements) I didn’t know for how long she was there but she had

lost all her will to live when she met me. She…. She requested me to end her life as she didn’t want to suffer more. But I… I couldn’t muster the courage even when I was in severe pain. I….. I, then,” he paused and gulped hard.

I didn’t know, but I had this feeling that he didn’t do anything wrong and my idea about what happened between them was wrong. I really wished that I was

wrong.

“I didn’t know why I did that, but I forced her to drink my blood. She was too weak to protest b…. But I forced her. She vomited first, but later s.. She consumed a little. They didn’t give them food or water, and I guess that was the reason that she didn’t even manage to gulp a drop. Her throat was completely dry and parched. She… She fainted after that drinking a little of my blood, but I heard from the guards th… That she survived,” he finished, telling me, looking at me this time.

“I don’t know how to tell William about this, Theo. I…. I don’t know what effect it would have on our relationship. I am already in guilt because of Crystal and…. what I did to Victoria will deteriorate our already ruined relationship,” he said with a sigh this time.

I smiled and put my hand on his shoulder. “You did nothing wrong, Adam. She was already dying. You tried to save her with whatever you thought right,” I comforted him while giving him a reason why he shouldn’t scared.

“But none of us know what effect my blood has on her b*dy. I heard Albert say that my

blood in her bloodstream escalated the internal healing process, but it also increased her suffering. I was rescued almost two months after that day. They didn’t bring her again, but I didn’t know if anyone else drank her blood or not. Yo.. you can’t even imagine, Theo, how painful it is for the person whom they use as their blood bags. I… I did hear something but,” Adam suddenly paused, and his b*dy stiffened immediately.

I stiffened too when I sensed William’s presence a little far from us. Adam’s eyes were glued behind me now, and his face immediately went pale. I took a deep breath and followed his gaze. I chewed on my internal cheeks when I saw William standing a little far from us while looking at us blankly.

We all stayed in our positions for a good few minutes before William started walking towards us. I immediately took two steps forward and stood up between them. I was not sure how much William heard of our conversation,. but I was sure that he heard about what Adam did to her.

“William,” I called William in a cautious tone when he stopped in front of us. He still had his blank eyes glued to Theo. I glanced at Adam over my shoulder and saw him lowering his head. I sighed and stepped aside. It would be better if they talk calmly.

They needed a hearted conversation if they both wanted to achieve harmony in their relationship once again. I knew that William also missed Adam, but he was too stubborn to accept this. I could understand his agony and anger but there is no way that I will let William say anything unpleasant to Adam because whatever Adam did, it gave William the opportunity to find his mate
