Chapter 163
Chapter 163.
I wrapped my arms around them, my heart swelling with love for these two. Even though they were idiots, they were my idiots. And I wouldn’t have it any other way. I just hoped my heart wouldn’t shatter when it came time for me to shift and find my mate.
After they had released me from the warm group hug. I took a moment. to catch my breath and look around the room. It was the same room where they had nursed my wounds after the warrior scholarship test, but it seemed different today. The room was adorned with lights and flowers, making it look ethereal. There was a sense of nostalgia that flooded over me as I looked at the spot where I had lain with bandages. wrapped around me, the twins fussing over my injuries.
At the time they had said this would be the room they would share with their mate and Luna, so was me they were talking about. I had left. this room with a cracked heart but as I look at it now, nothing my excitement and love fills my heart.
Maybe just maybe.
Jayden’s voice interrupted my musings,
“We wanted to remind you, love, that every significant moment in your life, we’ve been there with you.” He said.
“And we will continue to be, sweetheart. Through thick and thin, joy
and sorrow. We’re not perfect, sweetheart, we mess up. But our dedication for you is unwavering, and we want to prove it to you every day.” Kayden added, taking my hand in his.
Okay!
I was dead and ended up in the wolf heaven. This was not happening.
Were they indirectly telling me that I was their mate or dare I say love me?
Tears welled up in my eyes, blurring my vision. I tried to blink them away, but they stubbornly trickled down my cheeks. Both of them rushed to me, panic evident in their eyes.
“Oh, goddess, sweetheart, don’t cry,” Kayden pleaded, thumbing away my tears.
“We didn’t mean to make you upset,” Jayden added, sounding desperate.
I chuckled, shaking my head.
“No, you idiots, these are happy tears. I’m just… overwhelmed.”
Wait, back up, shit, I called the kings idiots. Before I could apologize a sigh of relief escaped them, and they enveloped me in another hug, this time with a sense of tenderness and affection that I hadn’t felt before.
The bond between us felt stronger than ever, and I knew then that no matter what, we would always find our way back to each other. I wasn’t sure why but it felt like that or maybe I did but was to scared to accept. it fully.
As we pulled apart, they each held one of my hands, their eyes twinkling with mischief.
“Now that you’ve solved all the clues, are you ready for your reward?” Kayden asked, a hint of a smirk playing on his lips.
“A reward?” I asked, my eyebrows raised in curiosity.
“Your next date with us,” Jayden replied, his grin infectious.
I laughed, feeling giddy and excited.
“Bring it on, kings,” I said.
The warmth of the day’s events still lingered with me as I headed back to my room, much to Kayden and Jayden chargin. They had wanted me to stay longer with them and watch a movie but I had promised JJ and Rex to meet up with them after they all but begged me to stop ignoring them. I was meeting JJ and Rex for a late–night snack; it had been a tradition of ours to catch up on the day’s happenings over food. Today, I had a lot to share.
“So, how was the scavenger hunt?” JJ asked, barely able to contain his excitement.
Huh? He knew?
“It was amazing,” I began. unable to keep the smile off my face. “The clues led me to the most memorable parts of my life. It was very touching.” I replied, not bothering to ask how he knew.
It was probably Rex.
A smug smile played on Rex’s lips, but every time I tried to pin it on him, he just shrugged, maintaining his innocence.
“I can’t believe Kayden and Jayden came up with such a detailed plan,” Rex said, trying hard to sound nonchalant.
“They really care about you, Kiara,” JJ added, nudging me playfully.
I looked at my friends, my family, their words echoing in my mind. The sincerity in their eyes, the firm belief they held about Kayden and Jayden’s feelings for me, it was impossible to ignore.
As we ended our snack session, I said my goodnights to JJ and Rex, their words of reassurance playing in my mind. A soft smile played on my lips as I made my way to my room, my heart filled with anticipation for tomorrow. Kayden and Jayden’s gestures, JJ and Rex’s reassurances, everything was leading to one conclusion – I was deeply loved.
