Chapter 159
Chapter 159.
He helped me up, hugging me, but this time it didn’t have that kindness. when I first got here. Was it just me or was he actually jealous. Aiden and me had always been friends. I had thought him to be my mate like I did Rex, but not once did I feel that we could be more then friends. There was no pull, no urge to be with him. A rush of mixed feelings. swarmed within me Aiden’s unexpected reaction had left me confused and uncomfortable. And yet, there was a small part of me that was touched by his concern. The afternoon sun casting long shadows ahead of me. I knew then that things were about to change. For better or worse, I was yet to find out.
With Aiden’s words echoing in my mind, I found myself walking back to the castle with an unfamiliar heaviness weighing down my heart. It felt like a boulder pressing down on my chest with each step I took, making it hard to breathe. His sudden, unexpected display of jealousy had shaken me, piercing through the comfortable familiarity of our long–standing friendship.
Upon reaching my room in the castle, I shut the door behind me, the echoing click was a solemn reminder of the confusing encounters I’d experienced today. My room, my sanctuary, suddenly felt colder, a stark contrast to the heated encounter in the training field. I sank down onto the edge of my bed, my fingers brushing against the cool sheets as I tried to piece together the events of the day and the last few days.
Before I could lose myself entirely in the labyrinth of my thoughts, the door to my room creaked open. The rich, distinct scent of whiskey and musk alongside coffee and musk permeated the room, a familiar

presence that could belong to none other than Kayden and Jayden.
They stood at the threshold, twin silhouettes framed against the soft glow of the hallway. I could feel their potent fury filling up the room, a palpable energy that was impossible to ignore.
“Kiara.” Kayden’s voice broke the silence, his tone colder than I’d ever heard before.
The single syllable of my name sent shivers down my spine, not of pleasure but of apprehension.Jayden’s stance mirrored his twin’s, his arms crossed over his chest and his jaw set in a hard line. Their unified anger was intimidating, but the possessive glint in their eyes was what truly caught me off, guard.
“Why were you so close to that pup Aiden?” Jayden demanded, hist usually soft–spoken demeanour swallowed up by his rage.
Taken aback by their aggressive approach, I snapped,
“Aiden is my friend! I don’t see why that would be a problem.”
“The problem…” Kayden bit out, his tone menacingly calm, “…is that you are ours, Kiara.”
I recoiled, their claim resonating in the quiet room. Now I’m theirs? What was with them and their cryptic words? I was almost ninety percent sure I was their, mate, but without them confirming it, I couldn’t be entirely sure, and now they were saying I was theirs. Yeah,

screw that! Either they give me a straight answer or leave me alone for the rest of the evening.
“Ours? I’m not an object to be owned.” I said through gritted teeth. Giving them a chance to tell me straight up.
A tense silence ensued, fraught with unsaid words and brewing. conflict. It was only when I found my voice again, shaky yet resolute, that the silence broke.
“I need space. I need both of you to leave. Now,” I said
Their expressions hardened, a complex mix of fury, betrayal, and shock flickering in their eyes. But they didn’t argue. Instead, they turned on their heels and exited the room, leaving me alone with the echoes of their possessive claims and my own tumultuous thoughts.
I slumped onto my bed, my emotions swirling into a turbulent storm. Aiden’s unforeseen jealousy. Kayden and Jayden’s sudden possessiveness it was a heavy load to bear.
Underneath the pale silver glow of the moon. I lay there, staring at the ceiling, lost in the chaotic whirl of my thoughts. I felt like a lone ship in the middle of a raging sea, battered by wave after wave of relentless emotions. As the night deepened, I couldn’t shake off the feeling that this was just the harbinger of a bigger storm, one that was going to change everything. I could only hope that when the storm passed, I’d find my way back to the shore, back to the safe and familiar world I once knew
