Chapter 147
Chapter 147.
“You need rest, little one; you took quite a few hits.” Said king Kayden as he looked over my injuries.
I know I wasn’t dreaming now when I could see the concern as bright as day in his and king Jayden’s eyes.
“You know I won, right,” I said.
I wasn’t sure if they knew or not since they left, but I wanted them to know. I wanted them to be proud of me, and for some strange reason, their approval mattered a lot to me. I couldn’t help but breathe in that fantastic musk smell they shared. The scent alone had my tense body relaxing.
They both chuckled as they got up to grab what I believe were
ointments and bandages. Oh crap! Were the alpha kings about to tend to my injuries? Holy goddess, nurses were supposed to do that, not the kings. As much as I loved the gesture but I couldn’t let them do this! What if someone walked in, gossip spread like wildfire here, and I didn’t want people to think I was here for both scholarships because they favoured me? I had worked hard for both of those achievements.
“No! I’ll do it, or maybe Rex or JJ could help.” I said quickly when they pulled my blanket back. I also wanted to take Aiden’s name, but I knew they didn’t like him for some reason, and I didn’t want to piss them off. They always tended to say something that would end up hurting me when they were pissed.
“Stay put, little one! Your injuries need immediate attention; everyone else is busy. And yes, we know you won; we never doubted you for a second.” Said, king Jayden
Never doubted me? Huh! Sure, is that why you guys left? I said in my mind, rolling my eyes, but surprisingly I got a reply. Crap! I said that out loud.
“We left so we could see you were cared for after the fight, little one. We knew you would win, we know how capable you are. Never doubt our faith in you.” Said, king Kayden.
His and King Jayden’s eyes held such strong emotions as they said those words that it even had me stunned. I didn’t know what those emotions were, but all I knew was that I was falling for the alpha kings and hard, which would end up leading to my heart being broken. I needed to leave; I needed to go back to Crescent Haven to make sure my heart remained intact despite how much it would hurt to leave everyone behind, to leave them behind. Plus, what right did I have to stay here now? None! I broke our eye contact when I felt tears stinging my eyes. I looked around the room as both king Kayden, and Jayden bandaged and disinfected my wounds. Every time I would hiss, they would blow on the wound, making sure they told me how proud they were of me. Why were they doing this? Why were they making me feel so special? Why couldn’t I have been older and been their mate? Why did they have to see me as a little sister? Questions swirled through my mind, but I had no answers and probably would never get any.
“Do you like the room, little one?” I heard king Jayden ask.
I looked around once again, actually taking in the place. It was indeed.
beautiful. Floor–to–ceiling windows that opened to a colossal balcony that overlooked the lush forest. A massive bed with a light grey velvet headboard that almost touched the fourteen feet ceiling that could fit at least five people, a giant crystal chandelier in the middle, it shined so bright I thought they were diamonds, maybe they were: the twins were rich as hell. Towards the side, gray sofas were in front of a massive television under a fireplace and a mirrored dressing table to the side. There were two doors on the side, probably the bathroom and walk–in. I wondered whose room this was.
“It is! It’s absolutely gorgeous and fitting for royalty. Whose room is this?” I said.
“This is the room we’ll share with our luna queen.” answered king Jayden.
It was as if my heart cracked a little. This was to be their mass room. My eyes looked around the place again; the room that I had found absolutely gorgeous not even a second ago was like a thorn in my eyes. It was the room that could never be mine. I sniffed, which caught the twin’s attention; their eyes immediately became concerned, but I spoke up before they could ask anything.
“I’m just in a lot of pain. Could you help me to my room or ask JJ or Rex too? I would like to sleep. I need to get ready for the party tonight later and pack to head back tomorrow.” I said.
“You can stay…” King Kayden started to say, but I cut him off.
“No, I just wanna go back to my room,” I said, a little hostile this time.
The twins were confused by my mood swing, but their expressions
changed as if a light blub went up in their heads. They smiled as king. Jayden picked me up bridal style, took me to my room, laid me on my bed, and left, but not before they told me to stay put and rest and that if I needed something, tell the maid they’d send up,
I sighed and nodded. When they were both gone, I let the tears fall freely.
