Jaime felt an irresistible force surging through him. He was sent flying uncontrollably, much like a kite that had its string cut, covering dozens of meters in the air before landing. He skidded across the ground leaving a long trail behind him, and finally crashed heavily into a massive boulder.

"Pfft!"

Jaime spat out a large mouthful of fresh blood, staining the ground in front of him a vivid red. "General Jaime!"

Upon witnessing the scene, Jaime's subordinates started to panic and shout, wanting to rush over to help. However, they were completely paralyzed by the overwhelming aura emanating from Tavon, unable to make a move.

Struggling, Jaime managed to pull himself up from the ground. With trembling hands, he wiped the trace of blood from the corner of his mouth, his eyes filled with shock and defiance.

He had never imagined that, aside from the city lord, there could be such a formidable presence in Beast City. In front of them, he was astonishingly defenseless.

Upon seeing Jaime wounded by just a single punch from Tavon, Rex was beyond thrilled.

He looked at Jaime with a teasing gaze. "Jaime, it would be best for you to hand over the celestial crystal vein mine peacefully, and then surrender the person who killed my son. In light of our past camaraderie, I may spare your life. If you continue to be stubborn, I'm afraid I can't help you. Tavon is known for his fiery temper. One punch from him, and you could be wiped out."

At this moment, Rex didn't want Tavon to kill Jaime. After all, Tavon was an outsider from Beast City, and

if he were to kill Jaime, it would be troublesome if the city lord were to investigate.

All he needed to do was seize the celestial crystal vein mine and then take out Jared.

Only Jaime's life was something Rex wanted to handle personally. If the city lord truly decided to

investigate, it would only be considered internal strife, not a crime punishable by death.

Jaime, being a man of substance, spoke with a cold huff.

"Hmph, such an overconfident fool!"

Upon seeing the situation, Tavon wore a look of disdain on his face. He steadily advanced toward Jaime, each step causing the ground beneath him to subtly tremble. "Today is the day you meet your end!" he declared.

Having said that, Tavon conjured a ball of black spiritual energy in his hand. The energy was akin to a black sun on the verge of explosion, exuding an aura that sent chills down one's spine.

Jaime watched as the encroaching black energy drew closer, a deep sense of despair welling up within him. But as a high-ranking general, his inherent pride wouldn't allow him to simply accept his fate. "Thinking of killing me? It won't be that easy!"

With gritted teeth, Jaime mustered his last ounce of strength, once again harnessing the spiritual energy within him, readying himself for a final, desperate struggle.

However, his spiritual energy was nearly depleted at that moment, making his conjured attack appear incredibly weak.

Just as Tavon was gearing up to deal the final blow, prepared to end the life of Jaime, suddenly, the atmosphere shifted dramatically in the sky.

Originally, the sky was a clear,

vibrant blue, Suddenly, it was blanketed by dark clouds. These thick clouds roiled and churned like ink, and thick bolts of lightning darted through them, causing a thunderous roar that was almost deafening.

Everyone was taken aback by the sudden turn of events, each one of them instinctively looking up toward the sky.

Tavon halted his actions too, a flicker of confusion and unease passing through his eyes.

"Is... is someone provoking the thunder punishment?" Rex asked in terror, a slight tremor in his voice.

Because he had already witnessed
