A Man Like None Other (Jared Chance)

Chapter 4667 What Is Going On

After transcending into the Immortal Realm, one ascended to become an immortal being. Who would linger in the Ethereal Realm when one had ascended into immortals?

They would have ascended to the celestial realm and started their cultivation anew.

What kind of person must one be to scare away an Immortal Realm cultivator with just a glance?

Rex couldn't quite understand, but he had indeed encountered those prodigies who dared to punch above their weight. He just didn't realize that Tavon was referring to Jared all along!

"Tavon, we have prodigies in our Beast City who battle beyond their ranks too. However, we certainly lack someone who can intimidate a cultivator from Immortal Realm with just a glance. The outside world is terrifying. Thankfully, we had sealed off our Beast City early on. Otherwise, we would have been prey for others long ago!"

Rex spoke with a lingering fear in his heart.

"Rex, you're overthinking it," Tavon said. "With the power of Beast City, we can still hold our own in the Ethereal Realm. After all, those cultivators with abnormal strength are in the minority," Tavon gave Rex's shoulder a reassuring pat and said.

As Tavon accompanied Rex, they chatted while on their journey, and before they knew it, they had arrived at the location of the celestial crystal vein mine.

This time, Rex didn't bring many people, just a dozen or so attendants.

With Tavon by his side, he wasn't afraid at all. Even if Jaime brought hundreds of people, it would be of no

use.

Even a multitude of cultivators at the Ultimate Realm Levels Four and Five stood no chance against Tavon, a cultivator at the Top Level Ultimate Realm Level Nine.

"General Jaime, Rex has brought people again..."

As Rex and his group were nearly reaching the celestial crystal vein mine, someone immediately followed Jaime to report it.

Jaime huffed. "I knew this guy wouldn't give up so easily. How many people has he brought with him this time?"

"There were just over ten..." Jaime's subordinate replied.

"More than ten?" Jaime's brows furrowed. "What is this guy up to? Come with me to check it out." Jaime led his men out of the temporarily constructed palace.

From a distance, Jaime saw that Rex had indeed brought along a dozen or so people. Standing beside Rex was a towering, burly man.

Although Jaime didn't know Tavon, he didn't pay it any mind. After all, in the whole Beast City, the only person who could possibly be stronger than them was the city lord who hadn't shown himself in years. Jaime, accompanied by his group of subordinates, stood imposingly in front of the palace, his gaze burning intensely as he watched Rex and his party gradually approach.

As the distance between the two

parties closed in, Jaime was the first to strike. A mocking curve tugged at the corner of his mouth as he loudly taunted, "Rex, your lackeys are a disgrace. Last time, they scurried off like frightened rats. Today, you've returned with a few more kittens to meet their doom. Have you lost your mind?"

Rex's face darkened instantly. He clenched his teeth, responding fiercely, "Jaime, don't be arrogant! Last time was merely my

momentary oversight, but today

make sure you understand who this celestial crystal vein mine truly belongs to!"

"Hahaha!" Jaime threw his head back and laughed heartily, his laughter filled with contempt. "You? And this oaf by your side? It seems to me like you're desperate, resorting to some unknown fool to play your part."

Tavon was already irritated from

listening to the two arguing all the way. When Jaime humiliated him like this, he was instantly furious. His eyes, round as bronze bells, bulged in anger as he roared, "You insolent creature, how dare you humiliate me like this!"

Before his words even fell, Tavon moved swiftly, much like a cannonball being shot from its chamber. Carrying with it the sound of rushing wind, he instantly charged toward Jaime.

Jaime's expression abruptly shifted. Despite his preparedness, Tavon's speed was simply too fast, so fast that he barely had time to react.

At the critical moment, Jaime instinctively summoned his inner spiritual power, hastily forming a spiritual shield in front of him.

"Boom!"

With a force akin to a landslide, Tavon's fist heavily slammed onto the shield, resulting in a deafening boom.
