Worship The Ground You Walk On

Chapter 65 Private Party

It was at 10 am the next morning.

Ben walked back to his office after the morning conference and found the door of his office unlatched. He squinted his dark eyes and pushed the door open.

Sitting on the sofa, Winifred heard the sound of the door and raised her eyes to look at her son.

Ben glanced at her and noticed that Conrad was lying in her arms and having fun with the toy in his hands.

He withdrew his eyes from his son, put down the files on the desk, and said, "Mom, why do you bring the kid to the company?"

"Because you haven't been home for days! Conrad hasn't seen you for so long, so I bring him here to take a look at you so that he won't forget what his father looks like!"

Winifred grumbled and approached him with his son.

Conrad smiled brightly once he saw his father. He opened his arms and looked for a hug.

Ben reached out and held him in his arms firmly, and the naughty boy grabbed his tie and put it into his mouth.

Winifred stopped him in a hurry, "Oh dear, how can you put everything in your mouth!"

She took the kid back into her arms and stroked his head affectionately, "Don't eat anything you see, my naughty boy!"

Conrad just giggled and held her neck with his little arms as if nothing had happened.

She sighed helplessly and handed him over to the babysitter.

And then, Winifred took a deep breath and sat down, "So, when do you and Claudia file a divorce?"

Ben was focused on dealing with the documents on the computer with his fingers moving back and forth.

Though Ben didn't respond to her, she still kept talking, "We can't let Claudia stay in our family any longer. People have been laughing about us having a dumb girl as our daughter-in-law for years!" "And now, she is scheming against Hanna! What a vicious dumb! I don't want to see her any longer! Divorce her as soon as possible!"

She had never had any good impression of Claudia, and now it even got worse because of what happened to Hanna.

All the hatred and displeasure were not formed in one day.

But Ben was bothered by her nagging and frowned. He turned to look at Winifred and said in a cold tone, "No matter I divorce her or not, it's our own business. Stop interfering with us, mom!" "How can one stand by and do nothing with a girl like that? Why are you still keeping up with her? I don't get it!" Winifred was mad.

Ben didn't respond. Though he still looked calm, his mind was occupied by displeasure.

"Just divorce her before it is too late. Conrad is still too young to remember anything, so when you marry Hanna, he will still recognize her as his natural mother.

That was Winifred's plan!

Ben withdrew his sight from the screen and stared at Winifred indifferently, "Is it fair to Conrad? What if he doubts about it when he grows up?”

How did he explain this to his son?

Besides, Kim had already negotiated with Ben and Winifred before. She required the Crawford family to take Claudia back home in three days, but they ignored it. And she had given out the news that Ben and Claudia were about to get divorced.

When she was spreading the news, she placed all the blame on the Crawford family.

That really mattered to the family. If Ben and Claudia were divorced as expected, it would cause so many negative impacts on their image to the public.

Winifred knew it, but she also believed the Crawford family was tough enough to hang on to it until the gossip was dissolved by time. But she didn't know Ben's attitude, so she stopped talking about it. Meanwhile, Claudia was staying in the apartment alone and doing part-time jobs on the internet. She was an accountant and a financial analyst.

Anyway, she would take the job that was related to commerce and finance, but most of the companies that came to her on the internet were the smaller ones.

She only did this for some pocket money, but thanks to her excellent skills and brilliant mind, she could earn quite a lot from this.

She never complained about the laborious jobs because she believed she could provide a better life for her mother and son with this money.

When she was devoted to the work, she received a message on the phone.

It was from Amber, and the message was short and simple.

"As usual, play some pieces on the piano in a private wine party. Get the job done and I can transfer your mother to the sanatorium downtown."

Since Amber had kept her promises previously, she didn't doubt it. If Amber could really bring her mother downtown, she could visit her every day, which was nice.

If everything went well, maybe she could find a chance to rescue her mother from the sanatorium and get rid of Blair's control.

So she took the job decidedly and replied to Amber.

Then, she got back to work on the tasks at hand. When she finished these, it was about time to perform music at the party. What a good schedule.

However, she didn't realize that she had fallen into Amber's trap. Amber smiled wickedly when she received her reply and turned to look at the middle-aged man next to her, "Mr. Hunt, Claudia promises me tha she will show up tonight."

Mr. Hunt was delighted, "Really?"

"Of course! She does have a good impression on you!" Amber said.

But he hesitated, "But last time Mr. Crawford appeared suddenly and..."

"Well, you know that Mr. Crawford doesn't want to lose his face. Though he has divorced Claudia without a doubt, she is still his ex-wife. He just doesn't want to see his ex-wife hanging out with another man so quickly, you know?"

Seeing her meaningful smile, he seemed to have some clues and suddenly realized.

"Oh! He was just acting like he was still her husband! I get it! I get it!" Mr. Hunt was overjoyed and laughed out loud.

Amber laughed as well, "And Mr. Crawford won't attend the party tonight. This is a gift just for you and Claudia. You must take the chance, Mr. Hunt!"

"Of course! Thanks for your kindness, Amber!" Mr. Hunt knew what was going to happen tonight and had a nasty smile.

Amber squinted her eyes. She had been struggling for days just for tonight. It was time to revenge!

Thinking of this, she texted another message to Claudia and asked her to get dressed up for the party.

The message was sent, but she still felt unsure. So she walked out and made a call.

"What was the drug you mentioned last time? Yes, the one that works on girls. Is that the best you have got? OK, send two pills to me."

Now she was finally relieved. This time, she would not only make Claudia get divorced, but also ruin her reputation!☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
