Chapter 13: Overwhelmed by Power
The weight of the revelations, the burden of her family's legacy, and the complexity of the prophecy pressed down on Amelia's shoulders like an unbearable burden. As she shared everything she had learned with John and Jace, her emotions surged uncontrollably.
Amelia's power, an extension of her feelings, surged within her, uncontrollable and overwhelming. Unintentionally, she released a burst of energy, causing John and Jace to stumble and fall to the floor. Even with Jace's newfound abilities, Amelia's power was a force to be reckoned with.
Overwhelmed by her own emotions, Amelia felt a growing sense of fear and isolation. She didn't know what all of this meant, and the weight of her newfound knowledge was crushing her spirit.
Jace, worried and filled with concern, rushed to comfort her, but Amelia pulled away. Her tears flowed freely, and she trembled with uncertainty. "No, Jace," she cried out, her voice filled with desperation. "You don't understand. She's powerful, more powerful than I could have ever imagined. She could kill you with a mere thought. I can't bear the thought of losing you or anyone else because of me."
Jace's eyes reflected his determination and love. He reached out and held her gently, his voice soothing. "Amelia, you're not alone in this. We're in this together, and I'll stand by your side, no matter the risks."
But Amelia couldn't shake her overwhelming fear. She shook her head, her sobs making it difficult to speak. "No, Jace. You don't understand the danger. She's a threat to everyone, and I can't let anything happen to you."
John, who had been silently listening, stepped forward, offering his support and resolve. "Amelia, we're a team. We'll protect each other, no matter the cost. You're not alone in this battle, and we won't let anything happen to you or Jace."
Amelia looked at Jace and John, gratitude shining in her tear-filled eyes. She whispered her thanks to them, her voice still trembling with emotion. "Thank you, both of you."
Jace kissed her gently on the forehead. "You need some rest, Amelia. We'll be right here when you wake up."
With a heavy heart, Amelia nodded, accepting their support and love. She left the room, heading for her bed, her mind still reeling from the overwhelming emotions and revelations that had shaken her to the core.
