Chapter 809
"Ah!"
Sherilyn clutched her head in agony, her emotions spiraling out of control.
The door burst open as Galen rushed in, both of them moving swiftly towards each other.
Galen: "What are you doing here?"
Edgar: "What did you say to Sherilyn? Why is she like this?"
"Sherilyn!"
Edgar sat down on the edge of the bed, wrapping Sherilyn in his arms, "It's me, Edgar! I told him to leave! He's gone, okay?"
"Aren't you leaving yet?" Galen's disdain for Gilbert was palpable. "My sister doesn't want to see you!"
Gilbert's lips were a thin line, his jaw clenched tight. He glanced at Sherilyn, then abruptly turned away.
The door to the room shut behind him, and Gilbert closed his eyes in resignation. Sherilyn truly does not even wish to see him anymore! But while she could choose to not see him, he couldn't just stand by and do nothing about her! Gilbert looked at Edwin Morris, his brows furrowed, "Mr. Morris, I need to discuss something with you..."
"Go ahead."
"What if there's no surveillance evidence, but there are witnesses?"
"Witnesses?" Edwin Morris paused, puzzled. "Where would we get witnesses from?"
He had thoroughly understood the entire situation, and there hadn't been...
Gilbert tugged at his lip, "If I say there will be, then there definitely will be."
"This...?"
Edwin Morris was taken aback, then it dawned on him, "What are you suggesting?"
"Why so surprised?" Gilbert glanced at him sideways, "Mr. Morris, to have reached your position, you must have used some tactics."
Morris couldn't argue with that.
However, he was curious, "You really trust her that much? The altercation with Yuna might not have been entirely without mishap..."
"If she said it didn't happen, then it didn't!" Gilbert interrupted him, his temper flaring, "I'll handle this. If anything goes wrong, pretend you were uninformed and blame me."
"Don't rush things. If it doesn't work out, you could be obstructing justice. Trials are a hassle, but it doesn't mean you'll lose..."
"I can't wait." Gilbert was adamant. Sherilyn was already scared sick! Besides, he had personally promised Jenna that her mom would be home tomorrow... He couldn't break his word, couldn't disappoint his daughter! Suddenly, the door to the room opened, and Edgar came out, his expression unreadable.
"Sherilyn's IV bag is almost empty. I'll go call the nurse."
"Oh, right."
Edwin Morris quickly stepped aside,

"If he heard, he heard." Gilbert shrugged, indifferent, "When it comes to Sherilyn, he's one of us."
"Fair enough."
The next morning.
Yuna woke up to find Malvina helping her with her morning routine, offering her water.
There was a knock on the door, and Edwin Morris walked in with an assistant. "Mrs. Martin, Ms. Martin."
Edwin Morris's expression was unreadable, his tone cold and ominous.
"I'm here to ask if you're aware that false accusations can land you in jail?"
"False... accusations?" Yuna was stunned, looking up at Malvina.
Malvina seemed panicked as well, swallowing hard, "We didn't make false accusations!"
"Didn't you?"
Edwin Morris raised his voice, his smile mocking as he shook his head. "But the eyewitness tells a different story." "Eyewitness?"
"Yes." Edwin Morris maintained his
smile, "Someone happened to pass by during your conversation and witnessed everything."
His smile faded into seriousness.
"Sherilyn didn't push you. You fell on your own! This is a false accusation! And for that, you could go to jail!"
He turned to his assistant without missing a beat.
"Tell them, how long do you go to jail for making false accusations?"
"False accusations, depending on

the severity, can lead to up to three years in prison, detention, or surveillance. In serious cases three to ten years."
"Do you hear that?"
Edwin Morris stared at Yuna's pale face, satisfied with the impact of his words.
