Yasmine was also afraid of getting hit, so her eyes darted nervously toward Madison. Given Madison’s size, Yasmine couldn’t help but think about how painful it would be if she swung at someone.

So, she quickly shoved Hank forward and exclaimed, “How dare you hide behind me!”

He stared at her, speechless.

Standing nearby, Tina crossed her arms and said, “Alright, enough of this. Let’s not forget why we’re here. It’s time to get to work.”

Then, she turned to Miranda and extended her hand. “Just hand over the lab keys. You don’t need them

anyway.”

Miranda smiled faintly. “I’m sorry, but I can’t do that.”

Tina frowned. “I don’t think you get it. This isn’t up for debate–it’s mandatory! According to the lab regulations, labs under rectification are strictly off–limits, and students aren’t allowed to keep the keys. They must be turned in to the supervisor or the dean’s office.”

Miranda responded, “Looks like you’ve done your homework on the lab regulations.”

With a dismissive scoff, Tina raised her chin. “If you know the rules, then be sensible and hand it over.”

Miranda smirked. “I’ll return the keys, but why should I give them to you? Who are you? My supervisor or

some staff member from the dean’s office?

“Well..” Tina was momentarily at a loss for words.

Sophie had called Tina into her office yesterday. She subtly hinted that Tina must get the keys from

Miranda.

At first, she didn’t see why it mattered. What was the big deal about a rundown lab? But she had overlooked one detail–this seemingly ordinary lab had a million–dollar CPRT measurement device.

The equipment was bulky and required specialized technicians to install or disassemble it, so there was no way Miranda and her friends could just walk off with it. Since expensive equipment was always in demand, who wouldn’t want a piece of that?

Madison sneered. “Some people are just plain greedy, like parasites that always leeches off others. They have what they need but can’t stop coveting what belongs to someone else. Can’t they show a little decency?”

Tina blushed at Madison’s sarcastic remarks.

In fact, she was also repulsed by Sophie’s obsession with every tiny advantage. As a wealthy heiress, Tina could have anything she desired, so why covet what belonged to others?

Besides, the items they were discussing were second–hand. Did she really need them?

Even though she disliked Sophie’s approach, she felt compelled to comply. Her academic success and graduation prospects relied on Sophie’s approval.

“I’m here to get the key, not to argue with you,” Tina asserted.

“Oh! I’m sorry, but you’re too late,” Miranda replied coolly. “I’ve already given the key to my supervisor as per Article 7 of the Lab Management Regulations.”

That supervisor was definitely not Christine, who remained blissfully unaware of the situation.

After returning from an academic summit in Ausward, she took a five–day break. Then, she flew to Malca. as a representative for a joint academic exchange between Bedford and Baltech College.

Christine was already exhausted from her travels, and Miranda didn’t want to burden her with these messy issues. Moreover, what could she do from so far away? Thus, the supervisor had to be someone else.

“Who? Which supervisor? You need to clarify!” Tina asked aggressively.

Miranda replied casually, “Why should I tell you?”

Tina was speechless.

Miranda continued, “What’s our relationship, anyway? Neither in public nor private do I owe you an explanation.”

“Miranda, don’t get too full of yourself! Did you remember how you used to fawn over Hansel not long ago? You strut around like you’re untouchable, but you’re just my family’s dog-”
