Chapter 192
Chapter 0192
Miranda’s expression turned cold. “My interview video was seen by everyone online. If you still have doubts about my score, feel free to report it to the school. Don’t just make baseless accusations.
“This society makes spreading rumors too easy. Take, for example, the person who posted that photo of me and Dr. Jefferson online–we still haven’t found out who the culprit is.”
As Miranda spoke, she kept her gaze fixed on Tina, watching every tiny reaction on her face. The moment she mentioned the “photo” and the “culprit“, Tina’s eyes flickered with guilt.
Miranda understood immediately–it was Tina who did it. It wasn’t entirely surprising but certainly confirmed her suspicions.
Miranda continued. “You’re quick to criticize me, but all I hear is jealousy in your tone.”
Tina’s expression now looked like she was upset for not having thought of such a good idea herself.
“What are you so smug about? Ingrid is pregnant with my brother’s child. You probably didn’t know that, did you?”
Miranda responded calmly, “I found out about it before you did.”
Tina was speechless by her rebuke.
“You’re here to see Dr. Young, right? She’s not in, so you might as well leave.”
Something in Miranda’s words seemed to hit a nerve, and Tina reacted like a cat whose tail had been stepped on. She was instantly bristling.
“Who do you think you are? Just because Dr. Young isn’t here doesn’t mean you get to tell me to leave! I’m going in, and there’s nothing you can do about it!”
“She can’t do anything, but as the homeowner, I certainly can.”
Christine adjusted her glasses behind them, her expression icy.
Tina’s face froze. She hadn’t noticed Christine’s arrival and had no idea how much she had overheard.
“Dr. Young, I’m-*
“I remember you.” Christine’s sharp gaze scrutinized her from behind her glasses. “You came to see me
last time too.”
Tina hadn’t expected the professor to remember her, but before she could feel any relief, Christine spoke sternly, “Did I not make myself clear enough last time?
“I’m a teacher, and I expect my students to earn their achievements through their abilities, not by constantly looking for shortcuts!”
Christine had seen many students like this before. She was strict by nature, especially in academic matters, where she couldn’t tolerate even the slightest mishap.
Someone like Tina would openly try to pull tricks right under her nose. The fact that Christine was still standing here while advising her patiently was already her last shred of patience.

“Take your things and leave. I don’t want to see this happening a third time!”

Tina walked out of the garden. She had been rejected twice in a row now.
She felt dejected, but more than that, she was filled with frustration and resentment. Christine had spoken harshly to her but was kind and gentle with Miranda.
Why? How was she any less than Miranda?
As she fured, a gentle voice suddenly spoke beside her. “You’re one of the students who interviewed for the postgraduate admission exam, aren’t you?”
Tina looked up and saw an elderly lady with a warm smile. She was dressed in a dark green dress, with her silver hair neatly styled.
The woman seemed to carry herself with elegance and poise.
This area was home to many teachers and professors, and this lady was also a professor at Bedford College, teaching at the same Faculty of Bioinformatics as Christine.
“Are you… Dr. Xander?”
Tina was surprised, and then she felt a spark of delight. She had seen videos about Sophie Xander on social media.
Although Sophie’s academic achievements weren’t as celebrated as Christine’s, she had still made some impressive strides in recent years. Her career was on a sharp upward trajectory.
More importantly, while Christine was notoriously strict with her students, allowing no room for mistakes, Sophie was known for her gentle demeanor and nurturing approach with her students.
Being recognized by such a teacher filled Tina with sudden joy; maybe she wasn’t so worthless after all.
“I happened to be sitting in on the interviews last time, so I remember you,” Sophie said with a kind smile.
I heard you were the fourth candidate, just missing out on selection by a small margin.”
Sophie’s smile was warm. “I happen to have one remaining spot for a graduate student. Would you like to be my student?”
