Chapter 27 Adamone's Confession
Recap:
“Please.” I brought her hand up to my forehead, closing my eyes.
“I love her. I can’t live without her. If you’re going to take her. Take me too.” I pleaded, closing my eyes tightly.
Adamone Levi P.O.V
People say appreciate what you have before it’s gone, cause by the time you realize it, it will be too late.
I still had my eyes firmly closed.
“I’m so sorry Eve. I couldn’t save you.” I muttered under my breath.
I lost.
I had the chance to be with her and I lost it.
I failed.
Tears were uncontrollably streaming down my face before a few sobs escaped my mouth as I felt as though my world was gone and my purpose of living had left.
“Adam?” I heard a voice that I never knew I would hear again, before a gentle hand was placed on top of mines.
“Eve?” I looked up to see her in her natural physical form.
“What happened? Why are you crying?” She asks.
You passed.
The whispers came once more.
I looked around me frantically.
What happened?
Where was the serpent woman?
Love.
They whispered, one by one in countless vocal sounds.
“What’s wrong?” Evelyn looked worried perceiving my unusual reaction.
The most powerful of all.
All the voices said in unison, resulting in goosebumps to arise on my skin as I could feel the vibrations they exuded.
Love?
I’m in love with Evelyn?
I faced Evelyn. Her eyes were held with concern as she tried searching my face for some answers.
“Eve.” I said as I stood up from the ground and held out my hand for her to take.
She took my hand, standing up as well.
Using her right-hand fingers, she wiped the tears away from my face making a small smile to form on my lips.
With my right hand, I stopped her from wiping them by gripping her wrist and held them down before caressing her cheeks.
I snaked my hand behind her neck before pulling her face closer to mine.
I could hear her heart beating rapidly.
I slowly leaned down and kissed her lips softly catching her off-guard. Lips that I thought I’d never have the chance to kiss again.
As I pulled away, she looked even more confused.
“I love you, Eve.” I confessed.
She seemed surprised for a moment before her cheeks turned red.
“I-I don’t really understand what love is.” She started.
“B-but, being with you, I think I’m getting a rough idea of what it c-could be.” She continued looking into my eyes.
“I somehow can’t imagine living a life w-without you, with t-that, in this very short t-time of being with you even, I think I love you too Adam.” She finished and my heart fluttered listening to those words.
I understand that she’s still young and have yet to learn about a lot of things in this world, but with little of what might and could be, she believes in me.
I smiled at her warmly before giving her another peck on the lips.
“Finally, you found the answer to my riddle.” I heard Merlin voice as he leaned against a tree smirking.
He had to ruin our moment, didn’t he?
“What answer?” Evelyn questioned looking at Merlin then following to face me.
“Have she really healed?” I asked Merlin instead of answering Evelyn.
“She’s breathing isn’t she.” He said before pushing himself of the tree.
“There is however one more thing.” He says attracting my full attention.
“You darling.” He motioned towards Evelyn as she looked at him intently.
“You get to pick if either you want to stay in your present age or your actual age physique.” He told.
Evelyn faced me for an answer.
“How bout her amnesia?” I inquired.
“Her internal healings are complete, now it’s her time to choose if she wishes to have her two years of childhood back.” Merlin supposed.
Lucifer Zades P.O.V
Her voice was all I could hear screaming in my head making me grunt and my wolf to become restless.
Out of nowhere, I was ambushed by a flying creature as it wrapped its claws on my neck before shifting to its human self.
The girl had its hand wrapped around my neck with a firm grip pinning me on the ground.
“What the hell?” I cussed.
“A wandering hunter.” She smiled showing her fangs, ready to sink them in my neck.
A bloody vampire.
I flashed my fangs towards her back while my eyes glowed bright red making her lose her grip on me as I harshly pushed her off me resulting her to crash onto the opposite tree.
“Lucifer?” She questioned.
“And you are?” I snarled.
“Lucinda.” She smiled.
“Your another half-sister.” A smirk formed on her lips.
Not again.
