Veiled Infant of Alpha Hunter

Chapter 24 Guns and Blood Bags

Recap:

“Adam.” She said with a little knowing in her eyes as she looked at me with fear.

“I’m s-starting to f-forget.” She stuttered frightfully.

Adamone Levi P.O.V

We returned back to our camping spot, wearing back our clothes.

“Adam?” I heard Evelyn’s voice.

“Yes?” I instantly was beside her, sitting down.

“Are you okay?” I asked, observing her reaction.

She opened her mouth to ask something but she was hesitant to speak out, as she bit her bottom lip.

“Just tell me.” I said bringing her chin up to face me using my forefinger and thumb.

“Could I please lay down and sleep next to you?” She requested.

I guess after knowing that I was her mate, her wolf had been yearning for my physical comfort but I wasn’t really sure if that was it or if she really wanted it.

“Sure.” I said.

We were facing each other as we lay there on the ground, the awkwardness settled in.

I felt as though there were things running inside her head that she wanted to express yet was holding in.

Me on the other hand, I don’t know what I’d do if she ever starts to forget about me again.

Her words kept echoing in my mind and I couldn’t get her reaction out of my head.

“Could I ask you something?” Evelyn questioned snapping me out of my thoughts.

I nodded, giving her a small smile.

“When did you plan on rejecting me?” The words left out of her mouth.

It sounded wrong.

“Honestly, I don’t know.” I sighed.

“I never really thought about when I was going to reject you. I was doing it by ignoring you. You were young and innocent.” I continued.

“But then,” I chuckled slightly.

“I still couldn’t be away from you for long though, I always found myself trying to be near you.” I said.

Her cheeks blushed as I said that making my stomach flutter.

I took my time to admire her features.

All I could think about was how beautiful she was.

“Could I ask you one more question?” She enquired.

I smiled giving her the green light.

“Would you leave once I completely forget about you?” Her voice went low at the end.

My smile immediately vanished.

“I mean, even if you do, I wouldn’t remember anyway, so you’d be free to go ahead with your life without me.” She said as her voice cracked a little when she finished her sentence.

Seeing me without a response, her eyes instantly coated in regret.

“I’m sorry.” She apologized. “I know I w-went out of l-line.” She stammered looking away.

I scooched closer to her frame that was trembling a little and looked straight into her eyes that were welling up with tears once more.

“If I wanted to stay away, I wouldn’t have volunteered to come to this journey with you. You’re my responsibility.” I said.

“You don’t need to be one, I heard you when you didn’t like the fact that I was only an Omega whilst you were the pack’s Beta. Maybe once all this ends, maybe I’d find someone else for me out there. I wouldn’t care if he’s human either, maybe we’d fall in love and I’d move out with him. Have a small family and live a normal human life.” Her face brightened up as she mentioned bout falling in love with someone.

The thought of her with someone else fueled me with rage I never knew existed. I slowly cupped her jaw with my hand.

“Don’t say things like that in front of my wolf, he’s not liking it.” I warned.

I brought her face closer to mines while I could hear her heartbeat accelerate.

“Besides, over my dead body, I’d let any males even near you.” I growled lowly.

I could feel my canines elongate and sharpen.

My wolf was eager to mark her and make her ours forever. I have to hold him back though, she’s not ready for this.

She soon will be. He supposed.

What does he mean by that?

I screamed in agony as I felt my contractions begin.

“It’s happening.” The doctor stated as he rushed to get something before reappearing near my bed.

This hurt so bad.

“You need to start pushing. Your water already broke.” He advised.

I shook my head no.

“No.” I cried.

“He’s going to kill them. Please help me.” I pleaded.

“Stop whining and start pushing.” Lucifer’s grandfather entered the room.

“Sir, I’m sorry but my advice would be to leave.” The doctor halted him.

He turned towards the doctor.

“Make sure the babies are out of her soon. If she protests, induce her, or I will inject the induce medication myself.” He ordered him, taking a quick glance at me before leaving the room.

The doctor neared my side again.

“If you don’t start pushing, your babies are going to suffocate and die. There will be major consequences to your actions. Please start pushing.” He directed.

“It hurts too much.” I whined.

“I need my mate.” I whimpered.

“I need Lucifer beside me.” I continued whimpering.

“Honey, he’s dead. He wouldn’t want you to give up now does he? I’ll help you, but I need you to push.” He promised.

Lucifer Zades P.O.V

My senses had been all over the place.

My eyesight.

My hearing.

My speed.

I haven’t taken a hold of everything in this short amount of time.

I knew all the crooks and corners of the hunter’s realm, but I can’t be too sure if our plan would work.

I know my grandfather; he may be old but he isn’t senile.

There’s an underground tunnel that could lead us straight into the house, however, there are passcodes that only I know of, I’m sure he would have changed it.

“Did they bring all the weapons I need?” I asked Gabriel.

Gabriel tossed a few types of guns on the table.

“Pick whichever you want.” He said.

I touched the guns that lay below me, it’s been long since I had a hold of one.

I picked up two handguns while I tossed a rifle towards Gabriel.

“Yea, I’m not really good with guns, I think I’ll stick to what I’m good at.” He bared his canines at me for a moment.

I felt myself getting lightheaded once more as I closed my eyes for a jiff touching my forehead.

“You okay?” Gabriel asked.

“He needs another blood bag.” Lorraine entered the room before she threw a blood bag at me. I caught it in mid-air, my reflexes were abnormal.

I hate drinking it.

I also hate that I crave it too.

“Drink up, we don’t have much time, we need your complete concentration on this war.” Lorraine sat down.

As much as I hate to admit it, she was right.

I gulped the blood bag and threw it in the trash can beside me. I felt as though my body automatically rejuvenated itself. I could see from the corner of my eyes Gabriel had this gagging reaction as I raised an eyebrow at him.

“The smell of blood is too strong.” He stated.

“Says the one that hunt rodent half their lifetime.” Lorraine huffed.

Gabriel scowled at her.

Once more, I felt myself getting lightheaded and I could hear a scream echoing in my mind.

“I think he needs another blood bag.” Gabriel says, observing my expression before facing Lorraine and turning towards my sight once more.

Lorraine seemed confused analyzing me.

I sat down on the chair as I grabbed my head with my hands.

“No.” I shook my head.

“It isn’t the blood.” I continued.

“It’s Valentine, I could hear her screams in my head.” I groaned.

“She’s calling out to me.” I breathed.

Gabriel Zades P.O.V

“The pack is almost ready, just a few more minutes.” I turned my head for a second and when I was to face Lucifer again, he was gone from his spot.

“He’s gone.” Lorraine stood up from the chair.

“What? I didn’t even see him leave.” I exclaimed.

“Why didn’t you stop him?” I asked slightly enraged.

“I’m not going to be in the middle of an angry Alpha Prince Hybrid and his pregnant wife unless I’m asking for a death wish. The pack needs to move now. My clan has already departed.” She stated.
