Chapter 24
Onyx POV
Knox takes a deep breath as he steps out the van and basically gags when the smell of decay attacks his nose.
“Alright everyone let’s get this over with. I can’t stand the damn smell. Ugh.”
Knox turns around and walks towards the old huge 4 story house. The windows are shattered and boarded up from the inside as if someone wanted to keep something from leaving the house. The door is falling off the hinges hanging on by a single bolt making it seem like who ever wanted out made a way.
There are some crows cawing and glaring at everything from the top of the house waiting for their next meal.
Mika chuckles, “Maybe because it’s not hunted just lived in by rogue vampires. Hehe”
One of the men muttered under his breath while holding his nose, “Damn they stink”
I take a deep breath and wait for the stench to bother me as much as the others. I can smell death in the air but I’m almost certain that’s not what the others smell.
For some reason I was never bothered by their smell or any of the other supernatural smell. Each one has a unique smell.
Vampires have this wired smell of death and decay with a sweet scent.
Werewolves have a combination of rain fall and a twinge of sourness to it.
Witches have a burning earthy smell that has a bitter twinge to it.
Obviously the smell that isn’t yours is suppose to bother you but I happen to like the others just like my own.
“Hey Mika, why aren’t we affected by their smell?”
Mika shrugged her shoulders and went back to thinking about the boys and giving them a piggyback ride later.
Demon gently puts his hand on the middle of my back before we walk to into the house.
Knox and James lead the way though the old broken-down house or at least through the first floor.
Knox leads us to the only thing in the house not rotting, a all purple door with a golden doorknob.
I looked at Demon as he glanced down at me. His face is blank, but his eyes say otherwise.
He’s anticipating something and don’t know what.
I can feel his excitement at the thought of a fight, the adrenaline slowly building.
He slips his hand around my waist and pulls me closer to him.
He may be wanting a fight but he also doesn’t want me to get hurt by someone. Even if he knows I can handle myself, he still doesn’t like it.
James opens the door and the smell of vamps intensify.
Rock is Dead blares from the basement with chatter and laughter pulsing through.
James starts down the steps talking to Knox, “This is the vamps hangout spot. This coven may be rogue and exiled but others still come here for advice or to have a good time since this is also like a vampire club.”
My curiosity took over as we followed, “why were they exiled?”
James turns towards me and smirked, “Because they helped all species, vamps, wolves and the witches. They didn’t care that there was a damn war going on at the time. They saw and still see everyone as equal and thought fighting one another was the dumbest thing ever.”
Demon could see though the half-truth he gave and glared at him, “And what else?”
James rolled his eyes and took the last step down, “well they loved helping us they also loved massacring humans as snacks.”
The door open and the smell of blood and lust consumes me.
The vampire closest to us had their face buried into a human neck. There was no muscle left in the front part of the man’s neck. The esophagus could be seen just as clear as his pale lifeless eyes staring at the ceiling.
The vamp suddenly sits up and run his slightly tan hand threw his black and white hair. Slowly he brings his beautiful colored eyes over to us. Both Demon and I paused as his eyes hooks on both us.
His eyes are a hypnotizing, they’re like an aesthetic purple with a ring of black surrounding the purple.
I felt a sense of peace when he looks at Demon then me. I can see the respect that he had for the both of us and then the curiosity of why took over his feature.
He never bothered to wipe the blood off his face when he smirked at James and announced to the rest of the vampires, “Looks like our new meals have been delivered.”
The man keeps his eyes on the both of us as the others stopped feeding.
They’re all covered in the blood of the human around them, looking satisfied yet wanting more.
The lust in their eyes screamed for more
A sweet smooth voice called from across the room, “I apologize for the mess. Sometimes our hunger can get the best of us.”
A colored woman with curves in all the right places, started walking to us.
The woman looked like a goddess with her brown skin glowing even in this dark basement.
Her curly hair starts out black but then slowly turn white at the tips.
She has golden brown almost hazel colored eyes.
No blemishes on her face or neck
Her shoulders rolled back with confidence as if no one can touch her.
Her red dress hugs her breast and her figure.
Her breast is the perfect size for her fit but curvy hourglass body, not too big and not too small.
James did his little stupid half smile thing getting ready to say something smart, but Knox cut him off.
“Its not a problem Celia. Where do you want them?”
She stopped in front of us, “Felix and Aros will take them and bring your payment back.”
Knox started shaking his head the minute she said that. “You know I’m going to send one of my guys with them.”
Celia sighs, “There’s no honor among thieves anymore.”
Knox rolls his eyes before looking at me and Demon, “Onyx go with them while we brief Celia.”
I nod and wait for Demon’s emotions to object.
His emotions are conflicted. His happy that I don’t have to relive that night, but he doesn’t want me to be alone with two vampires.
Knox and the others take a slight step back when they took a peek at his face. I turn my head to see his eyes switching between his tar pit eyes and his deep red demon eyes.
I turn towards him and gently place my hand on his chest, “Demon”
He snaps his head to me and takes a deep breathe, “I’m okay”
I wait until his eyes stay black before I nod my head and look towards the vampires.
The man with the black and white hair is one of them. The other is a plain looking man with brown hair and blue eyes.
The first man has a bored look on their face but blue eyes keeps looking at me with a spark of interest that may be a problem later.
