Chapter 62: Andreas Miscalculated Again
"It's alright if she comes. The family has been jealous of Sandoval Group's port and airport." Charlie sneered.
"Father, please rest assured. I'll let her hand them over obediently today." Andreas raised his glass and took a sip of Lafite, deepening his smile.
"OK. Your elder brother has made great achievements in his political career. You need to work harder," said Charlie with a nod, smiling.
When hearing his father mentioning about his elder brother, Andreas' expression suddenly changed. A trace of gloominess flashed through his darkened face.
The reason why he came all the way to Ocean City was to stay away from the capital city, where his elder brother was, so as to avoid that everything would be controlled by his elder brother. He wouldn't get recognized under his elder brother's halo, let alone inheriting the Sandoval family. As long as his elder brother still existed, his hope to inherit the Sandoval family would be quite small.
Hence, he was also drooling at the development rights of Sandoval Group's port and airport. As long as he could take it over, the status gap between him and his elder brother in the family would become smaller.
On the street, an S-Class Maybach was speeding like a flash.
In the car, Greta's arms crossed on her chest. Her uniform jacket wrapped her perfect curvy body. Her attractive short shirt was really a temptation to a man.
However, looking at the window with her charming eyes, Greta couldn't help showing a hint of worry on her face.
"What's wrong?" Maxwell asked while operating the steering wheel.
"Nothing," Greta shook her head and whispered softly, "Later when I get into the family banquet, you can stay outside. Don't go in."
"How could it be possible? I'm your husband. Your family business is the same as mine own." Maxwell shook his head.
"You... I'm doing this for your own good. Don't go in." Greta glared at him. How could Maxwell know that the family banquet she was attending later would be full of danger?
However, she had to face it. The Sandoval family had come all the way from the capital city to find her at the door. She couldn't hide nor escape from them.
"Ms. Greta, may I take it as that you are worried about me?" Suddenly, Maxwell smiled slightly. He looked at her delicate, cute face through the rear-view mirror.
"You are acting recklessly." Greta's eyes suddenly became cold. She felt annoyed. This guy didn't appreciate her kindness at all.
Obviously she wanted him to survive, but he refused, just like the old saying went: "There is a way to heaven, but you don't go; there is no way to hell, but you break in."
"Greta, take it easy. This is just an ordinary family banquet. Nothing will happen," said Maxwell firmly.
Greta glanced at him through the rear-view mirror. She heaved a sigh. 'Maxwell, what do you know? Andreas could even hire killers for assassination. What else can't he do?' she retorted inwardly. Shortly, the Maybach S-Class pulled over at the gate of a villa. Maxwell got off and opened the door for Greta. A pair of long legs stretched out. Later, the most famous and beautiful businesswoman in Ocean City walked towards the villa gracefully and elegantly.
Holding her soft and slender hand, Maxwell walked beside her like a gentleman. At this time, Greta couldn't help checking on him because of his elegance.
The dining room of the villa was filled with music and joy. In a corner, an orchestra was playing soothing music. At the table, the Sandoval families were chatting happily. The atmosphere was harmonious. Andreas shook his glass slightly and took a sip of Lafite, his eyes darkened and icily cold.
He still remembered on the first banquet reception, the bitch Greta and that Max Kirk didn't save his dignity at all... For the first time in his life, he was humiliated completely in public. How could he easily forget such a shame?
Also, in the subsequent auction, Maxwell was even more domineering and arrogant, slapping him in the face fiercely. He bit 'Azure Star' at a sky-high price, and Andreas didn't make another move. Then what happened was made the headline the next day.
Andreas could never accept a woman's contempt... And he couldn't accept more that his pride and dignity was trampled by a driver of a company president. That had become the shame of his lifetime. He swore that he would make Maxwell and Greta pay the price.
At today's family banquet, he wouldn't only take down Greta, but also in the evening... he wanted to play with that stubborn stunner Greta for sure.
Suddenly, one of his men walked into the villa and pulled Andreas back to reality from his fantasy. "Excuse me, Mr. Andreas. Ms. Greta is here."
In the dining room, the cheerful ambience froze suddenly.
"How dare that bitch come here?"
"She still has the guts to be here? It's already an honor for our Andreas to marry her. How shameless she is! She wants to make a fuss in our family banquet?" Andreas' relatives couldn't help discussing in disdain.
"Mr. Andreas, didn't you propose me for marriage? I'm here to give you an answer." Suddenly a voice rang out from the door of the villa.
Everyone looked over and saw a beautiful figure standing at the entrance. She walked in high-heels, approaching gracefully. Her exquisite high-heels landed on the tiles and made crisp sounds, echoing in the villa.
Silence blanketed the dining room, as if all of them were conquered by this beautiful figure that emanated a powerful aura like an empress. At that moment, the female CEO's aura was extremely sharp and aggressive.
"Greta..." Andreas raised the corners of his mouth. Holding his glass, he walked to the charming woman.
"Hi, Mr. Andreas," Greta smiled slightly and nodded at him.
"Greta, have you really made up your mind?" Andreas stared at her with meaningful eyes. Seeing Greta dressed up in such an enchanting way today, he figured out something more or less.
"Yes, I have. Otherwise, how would I have the courage to come here?" Greta's enchanting and crystal-clear eyes stared back at Andreas, her lips curled into a smile... It was very difficult for anyone to resist her charm.
When their eyes met, Andreas nodded and said "great" repeatedly. "Greta, I will let you know that how correct your decision is." He laughed, turned around, and walked to the dining table.
At the dining table, the Sandoval family members all heaved breath of relief, looking at Greta and smiling disdainfully. It seemed that Greta had finally thought it through. Otherwise, the Sandoval family had to make more efforts to get the port and airport.
"Greta, since you've made up your mind, we're family from now on." Charlie giggled. "Although you are from a low-class family, it's only the matter of the elder generation. As long as you serve our Andreas well, you'll enjoy endless glory and wealth in the future."
"Exactly. Hand over the shares of Sandoval Group to us. We're a family." A few more voices echoed at the dining table.
Greta was stunned a little bit. Then she turned around and shouted at the entrance, "Come on in."
Andreas, who was walking towards the dining table, paused on the half-way. Charlie frowned. "Greta, didn't you come here alone? Who else is there?"
Andreas' heart trembled suddenly. He had a bad hunch.
Greta slightly smiled, but didn't answer them.
Soon, a figure walked in from outside of the villa. With his hands in his trousers pockets, he came in with a choking smell of cigarette.
When the figure appeared, Andreas' heart skipped a beat. Widening his eyes, he glared at the playful figure, his face livid.
"Wow! So many of you are here." The figure curled his lips, looked around, and smiled slightly.
"Why are you here?" Andreas pinched his wine glass with a trembling hand.
"Why can't I be here?" Maxwell asked instead of answering him, squinting his eyes and looking at Andreas.
The ambience suddenly solidified, full of the smell of intension, as if they were at daggers drawn.
Staring at Maxwell, Andreas said slowly with a cold look, "This is the family banquet of the Sandoval family. You are neither surnamed Sandoval nor our servant. Who do you think you are to come in?" "Unless... There's a restroom cleaner vacancy in the Sandoval family. You can come in if you've taken that position." Andreas' mouth corners raised into an mocking smile.
"What if I don't?" Maxwell smiled indifferently and calmly.
"It's a trespassing. I'll make you sorry for it," Andreas snapped, his aura becoming fierce and aggressive all of a sudden. He was like a sharp blade ready to get out of its sheath and kill at any time. Meanwhile, a lot of bodyguards dressed in black heard the fuss inside the villa. They all rushed in with high-voltage electric batons, surrounding Maxwell in an instant.
Maxwell stared at Andreas, his mouth corner curling gradually to a meaningful smile. "Make me sorry for it? Dream on!"
"How arrogant!" Charlie shouted angrily, pointing at Maxwell. "Who do you think you are? You're so bold to show up in the Sandoval family's territory! You are just ignorant and arrogant!"
"Where is this shabby man from? We should throw him out. Not worthy to get angry."
"Look at his outfit. He must be a beggar. Leave him alone. Bodyguards, drive him out!"
The Sandoval family members discussed and gave suggestions with disdain, looking at Maxwell scornfully.
Maxwell looked indifferent. He turned to Greta. "Honey, they don't like to see us. Shall we go home?"
As soon as the words fell from Maxwell's tip of tongue, the whole dining room quieted down.
"Swoosh!"
All gazes on him had become stunned. Everyone at the dining table gaped at Maxwell. None of them know how to react while feeling startled.
"What are you talking about?" Andreas turned around suddenly, gazing at Maxwell. His body was trembling as if he had heard some incredible secret. Even if he always kept peace and calm in his mind and he was always scheming, he still felt shocked when hearing Maxwell's words.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Andreas. He's my husband whom I've married for three months," Greta said in a magnetic voice while stretching her arm to hold Maxwell's intimately.
The whole dining room was deadly pin-drop quiet.
Andreas' face turned livid and gloomy. Glaring at Maxwell and Greta, he was involuntarily taking steps backward. He pulled an extremely long face, feeling burned. What Maxwell and Greta said just now was like a fierce slap across his face, making him agape and ashamed.
He couldn't believe that he had been defeated by a useless live-in son-in-law.
