"How long did you lock Hera up for?" Joshua asked.

"Two days, or it could've been three days. I can't remember the finer details. Back then, the police were investigating Greg's murder, so no one paid attention to her. I have no idea how she escaped afterward."

A loud noise cut off Rhett's voice in the recording, followed by a flurry of commotion. Amid the noise, Joshua's voice could be heard.

"Mr. Bernard, don't be reckless. If you kill him, there are no witnesses left to bring the culprit to justice."

Hearing the revelation made Hera's breath hitch. Just as Xavier had suspected back then, she did witness the entire incident at the crime scene. Not only was Hera unable to recall a single thing, but Bernard had even asked Felix to alter her memories.

Hera cast a sideway glance at Bernard. He bent his head before kissing her on the forehead and wrapping an arm around her.

"I'm sorry, sweetie. Those memories were far too bloody, and I didn't want them to affect you for the rest of your life. Hence, I made a selfish decision by asking Felix to wipe them out from your memories."

Hera said nothing. Bernard's overprotective behavior made her feel rather suffocated. Without his interference, she might have recalled those memories earlier.

But now wasn't the time to dwell on all this, so Hera freed herself from his embrace. "I'll settle this with you later!"

Bernard went silent, suddenly feeling uneasy.

In the interrogation room, Nathan turned off the recorder. He gazed at Gemma and asked, " Ms. Gemma, can you confirm what Mr. Rhett said?"

Xavier looked up and glared at Gemma with bloodshot eyes.

The calm demeanor Gemma exuded earlier was completely gone, as she seemed aware she couldn't escape. A heavy weight loomed over her.

She could feel a fiery gaze fixed on her from behind. Although she knew it was Xavier, she couldn't muster the courage to look back.

Gemma appeared to have given up as she answered, "I can."

"Did you instruct Linda Atkins to kill Daphne Jones?" Nathan asked.

Gemma shook her head. "No. I never thought of harming Daphne. It was Mrs. Killian Senior. She said she would help me handle the issue and told me not to worry."

"Please confirm that." Nathan turned his head to speak into his earpiece connected to the control room. His request compelled Joshua to arrange for an officer to interrogate Ember immediately.

While awaiting clarification at Interrogation Room 4, the assistant suddenly realized that Xavier had already solved the Rubik's cube, leading him to exclaim in surprise, "Oh, you've solved the Rubik's cube! It's not an easy puzzle, so you can't be that foolish after all!"

The assistant had studied the Rubik's cube for a month before he was finally able to solve one side. He hadn't been able to complete the remaining sides.

On the other hand, the foolish -looking Xavier merely used ten minutes to solve the entire Rubik's cube.

Everyone turned to look at Xavier after hearing the assistant's remarks.

Gemma was extremely shocked. In the past, she bought all sorts of children's brain puzzles to stimulate Xavier's mind, including a Rubik's cube. However, he was unable to figure it out at all.

How could he have solved it now?

She suddenly considered something before asking in disbelief, "Xavi? Have you always been lying to me?"
