Uncovering My Wife's Secrets (Annalise and Julian)

Chapter 21

Chapter 21 You Are More Important Than Him

Annalise did not expect a young man in Jadeborough, who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, to have a scarred childhood.

All of a sudden, she felt sorry for him.

Annalise lost her mother when she was three, while Julian lost his mother when he was seven.

Her father was unknown, and his father did not care about him.

Although her life seemed more tragic, his life was rather pitiful too.

Hence, she tried to hold his hand and comforted him silently.

Feeling the heat on the back of his hand, Julian smiled and held Annalise's hand back.

He put her hand on the steering wheel and said, "Drive carefully."

Annalise's ears turned red. She quickly concentrated on the road after that.

Suddenly, Julian called out, "Annalise!"

"Hmm?" Annalise responded.

He sounded strange, and she thought he looked too serious.

"Although we don't know each other well, we are still husband and wife," Julian said.

Annalise felt that the man sounded too serious. She immediately corrected him, "We're fake husband and wife, and it's going to last for only three months."

"Yes, three months. So, within these three months, we have to abide by the agreement. Unless we agree to break up with each other, no one can separate us," Julian said.

Annalise was a clever woman. She quickly turned to look at Julian and asked, "You think your father will come to look for me?"

"Maybe," Julian answered.

Annalise glanced at Julian again, but as soon as she saw his grim expression, she joked, "Would you be angry with me if I scolded your father as you did?" She wanted him to loosen up.

"No!"

"Really?"

"Yeah, because you're more important than him in my heart."

From the moment they received their marriage certificate, Julian knew that Annalise was the one he would protect for the rest of his life.

Annalise's heart skipped a beat.

"Why am I so touched hearing his words? Is it because I'm hungry for love since I grew up without parents?" she wondered.

She had fallen in love with Benjamin because he had said that she was important to him too.

Annalise had always thought that she was a sensible person, yet she still could not help but fall in love with Benjamin because of his serious confession and affection.

Julian, however, was different from Benjamin.

While Benjamin was romantic and was good at giving surprises, Julian was someone who would choose her instead of a priceless bracelet.

I really should stop comparing them with each other," she thought.

After sending Julian back to the hotel, Annalise told him to have a good rest.

In return, Julian reminded Annalise to drive carefully on her way back. He also told her to wait for him at the Barton residence tomorrow and that he would go over and accompany her to talk about the shares with Kent.

Annalise waved him goodbye, then drove back to the Barton residence.

When she arrived home, Tony and Alexander had already left.

Seeing Annalise, Abigail rushed over and started a heated argument with her. "Annalise, shame on you! Aren't you in love with Benjarnin? Why did you hook up with Julian?" Abigail's words amused Annalise. She refuted, "Aren't you the one who wants to be with Benjamin? I gave him to you, so why are you still making a fuss here?"

"Did I ask you to give him to me? Who do you think you are? Divorce Julian right now!" Abigail snapped.

Tony had a good impression of Abigail and had no opinion for her to marry his son.

If Annalise did not divorce Julian, then the only person she could marry was Alexander.

However, after spending time with him several times, Abigail preferred Julian.

Julian was the eldest son of the Parks family. Not only that, but he was also the general manager of the headquarters and was more handsome than Alexander. Abigail thought that Julian, with such a cool and arrogant temperament, must be someone who was capable and had a strong will.

Otherwise, he would not have dared to challenge Tony.

"Idiot!" Annalise chided with contempt and went up the stairs.

"How dare you call me an idiot? I'm going to kill you, you bitch. Get out of here! Get out of the house right. now!" Abigail wanted to follow Annalise upstairs.

Standing on the stairs, Annalise looked at Abigail with disdain and said, "You're the one who should get out of this house! As I said, my mom left this house for me. You guys should move out as soon as possible."

After saying that, she continued to make her way up the stairs.

"Anna!" Kent bellowed.

Annalise turned around and looked at him indifferently.

She had only known Kent for his selfishness and greed. But after what happened tonight, she saw a whole new level of nasty on him.

"How shameless of him to use such kinds of drugs!" she exclaimed inwardly.

"Divorce Julian. You saw it too. Julian's dad doesn't like you at all. You will have to divorce him eventually, so why do you want to get in your sister's way?" asked, Kent.

Annalise gave Kent a nonchalant look and said, "Uncle Kent, don't worry about me. Just find a place and leave as soon as possible!"

With that, she went up to her room without looking back again.

Once Annalise was gone, Bethany cursed through gritted teeth, "She has moved to the city for more than at year, but all she has gained is that arrogant attitude of hers. Who is she to ask us to leave all the time? Hubby, do we really need to move and give up this house?"

"In her dreams!" Kent gnashed his teeth.

"What did you say the other day about having the last alternative?" Bethany asked.

"I've been transferring the company's property since a few years ago, just in case the lawyer helps Annalise. Also, I've fired almost all the senior executives Heather had promoted with the excuse that they're too old to adapt to the company's growth. The rest of the senior executives are my confidants."

"That's good." Bethany felt relieved. "Hubby, what do you think we should do about Abbie?" she added worriedly.

Abigail furrowed her brows. She held her phone and said, "Dad, Alexander sent me a message again. He proposed to me."

"Alexander is using you to crush Annalise to benefit himself," Kent said.

"I think the relationship between Alexander and Tony is better than the relationship between Julian and Tony," Bethany chimed in.

"You're right. But Julian is the eldest son, after all, and he has Samuel's support," Kent said solemnly.

Bethany sneered, "Samuel is almost 80 years old. How long can he live? Didn't you see it? He choked and almost died at the dinner that day. He's dying. Aren't Tony and Alexander going to be in charge of the Parks family after that?"

Kent fell into deep thought.

Abigail's frown deepened as she thought, "Yeah, as soon as Samuel dies, Tony and Alexander will be in charge of the Parks family. Besides, Alexander told me that Samuel is very good to him. Alexander seems not bad at all. The thing is, Julian doesn't like me, and Annalise is not easy to deal with now. God, this is hard."

"Abbie, what do you think?" Bethany asked.

Abigail turned to look at her father. "What do you think, Dad?"

Kent said, "No matter what, Alexander is much better than Benjamin. How about we take the chance? In any case, Alexander and Julian will be the ones competing with each other in the end. Julian has Samuel's support, but Alexander, too, has Tony's support. Hence, both of them are equally strong."

He continued, "As long as you're stronger than Annalise, you can be of great help to Alexander in the future, and Alexander's chances of winning will be greater too. We've come this far; Julian fell for our trap, but he managed to suppress the drug's effect. I don't think we can find another chance in the future. If we miss Alexander this time, you'll end up with Benjamin in the end."
