Chapter 2281
"That's beside the point." Sebastian lowered his head and looked straight into Claudia's eyes.
His tone was solemn, and there was an unprecedented sense of seriousness in him. He wanted Claudia to see the sincerity in his eyes.
"Claudia, listen to me."
It was only at that moment Claudia realized that he might really be serious. She felt her resistance gradually melt away.
She could not help wondering whether true love was about to happen for her.
Had all Claudia's waiting finally paid off? Claudia thought to herself.
Sebastian's caressed Claudia's lips and said, "I've left my mark here. You're mine now."
"No way," Claudia retorted.
"It doesn't matter if you admit it or not. I'll continue to pursue you. I'm pestering you so much today because I wanted to know the answer," Sebastian replied.
Sebastian had finally realized why he acted so strangely that day.
"You mean you didn't keep pestering and following me today because of Sylvia?"
"No!" Sebastian shook his head. "It was because of you!"
"Me?" Claudia echoed. Naturally, she did not believe him.
Sebastian explained, "Sylvia and Kendrix are in a relationship. Despite their age gap, they have bravely embraced their relationship. Kendrix himself admitted to liking my sister just now. I'll be honest. I was a little jealous at that moment. If he could boldly admit it, why should I be embarrassed about my feelings? That's why I had the impulse to rush down and confess my feelings for you."
Claudia was dumbfounded.
She stared at Sebastian in shock. "Are you sure you're not joking with me?"
Sebastian's face flushed. "How could you say something like that? Why would I joke with you?"
Claudia was stunned when she saw how embarrassed he was. She found it amusing.
"Then, does that mean you're not fooling with me?"
Sebastian shook his head. "No! I really like you."
"How much do you like me?" Claudia asked.
She was still looking at him a little disbelievingly, perhaps because everything had happened too quickly.
"Is this good enough?" Sebastian tightened his grip.
Claudia could feel his arm around her waist tightening. He held her so close that it started to hurt a little, and she could not help crying out, "Sebastian!"
Suddenly, she felt him pressing against her.
He looked at her uneasily. Then, he took a step back, distancing himself from her to break the awkward situation. "Wait for me. It won't take long. Just give me a chance, okay?"
Claudia was shocked.
Not one to be pretentious, she gazed into his eyes that shone with sincerity and took a deep breath. With a somewhat aggrieved expression, she said, "But, there's an age gap of a few years between us." "So what? It's all good as long as this is big enough, right?" he demanded, pressing himself against her once again.
Claudia was so shocked that barely dared to breathe. "Y-You!"
Sebastian smiled and said, "Come on. Let's go upstairs to celebrate."
"Really?" Claudia asked him in a skeptical tone. "But, Kendrix and your sister are both there."
"When we go out on dates in the future, wouldn't it be more convenient to double date with Kendrix and Sylvia?"
Claudia was stunned for a moment. Suddenly, she understood what Sebastian meant.
"Do you really want to be in a relationship with me?"
"Well start to date officially once I turn 18. In the meantime, I have first dibs on you."
Claudia felt an overwhelming sense of happiness.
Ten minutes later, they were back upstairs.
Sebastian stood in front of Kendrix and Sylvia while holding Claudia's hand. He said politely, "Mr. Trevino, Sylvia, let me introduce my future girlfriend to you. This is Claudia Loris. I'll officially pursue her after I go to university. Before that, please help me keep an eye on her. Don't let any other man get close to her."
At that moment, Claudia's heart was so full that she felt it might explode.
Sylvia looked at Sebastian in disbelief. "Sebastian? Are you serious?"
Sebastian nodded and said, "Yes, I'm serious. I have to be serious about it." Sylvia started to get a little excited.
She looked at Claudia and said, "Claudia, I knew it. Sebastian likes you too."
Nonetheless, Claudia was still feeling a little worried. "Who knows how long it'll last?"
"I'll prove it through my actions," Sebastian said simply.
He did not want to make too many promises. All he wanted to do was to prove himself through his actions.
Realizing that her words had sounded rather unconfident, she looked around at the others in embarrassment. Then, she walked to the sofa and sat down. "There's no more food left. What should we eat, Kendrix?"
"I'll whip something up," Kendrix replied. "Come and help me. Today is a day for us to celebrate."
That day, the four of them celebrated together. They also agreed that before Sylvia and Sebastian were of age, they would not make their relationships known.
Now that they had something to look forward to, Sebastian could finally stop ridiculing Claudia whenever they met in the future.
Although they would not be able to meet each other every week, Claudia still felt very happy.
Soon after, Kendrix left the school.
Meanwhile, Sylvia and Sebastian started their senior year.
Neither of them had any intentions of studying abroad. In fact, Sylvia was aiming to get into the same university as Kendrix. After the college entrance examination, Sylvia enrolled herself into the university where Kendrix was at.
As for Sebastian, he went to a university in Northern City to study finance.
By then, Grace had given birth to fraternal twins, thus expanding the Jones family.
It seemed that the future had many happy days in store forthem.
Despite the inevitable setbacks in life, they strived to attain happiness.
Five years passed by in the blink of an eye.
Sylvia married Kendrix after she graduated, thus completing their love story that first began as a teacher-student relationship.
Sebastian proposed to Claudia after he graduated too, but Claudia felt that he should have more time to consider. After all, the age difference between them was too large.
As such, Sebastian was rejected.
However, Sebastian knew what she was worried about, so he was not discouraged.
He was not the same person he was five years ago. He was now a lot more mature.
"Claudia, Gary and Ernest are already married. They even have children already. Apart from my father who remarried, all of us hold on to one principle. Either we won't fall in love, or we'll only love one person forever. Are you still unwilling to believe me?" Sebastian asked.
"It's not that I don't believe you. I just think you need time to think about it. Since we've already established how we feel about each other, our lives now are just like a married couple's. Is there really a need for us to get married?"
"Of course!" Sebastian answered. "If I don't marry you, there will still be a lot of people who want you. I won't feel safe."
Claudia was shocked.
Sebastian leaned forward and
hugged her. Ever since he confessed to Claudia four years ago, the two of them had been in a steady relationship. While the four years they were together had felt no

As of now, Claudia felt more secure than him.
Upon hearing that, Claudia smiled. "What's there to worry about? I trust you. Don't you trust me?"
"I don't care. I want to marry you." Then, Sebastian whispered in her ear, "If you don't agree to get married, then you can forget about going to work tomorrow."
There was a dangerous tone in his voice.
Claudia blushed as she said, "Don't! Ever since the last time I got to work late because of you, everyone has been making fun of me."
"Marry me then. If you can promise me that, I'll let you go," he murmured.
"Even if I did promise you that, I'm afraid that you won't let me go." Claudia knew full well how strong and untiring he was.
In the past, she would have felt embarrassed if she had a boyfriend who was younger than her. But now, all her female colleagues envied her. They also wished that their boyfriends were younger so that they could be satisfied better.
Now, Claudia felt that it made sense.
Sebastian nodded and said in a low voice, "You're right. I'll take good care of you."
"No. I still have another case to do." Claudia begged for mercy.
"Then promise me that well go and get our marriage certificate tomorrow," he said.
Claudia shook her head. "It's still too early for that."
Sebastian looked straight at her,
gazing into her eyes deeply. His gaze was calm, serious, and affectionate. "Claudia, I have proved my love for you through my actions over the past few years. I've even seen how much you trust me. If my
guess is correct, you're fully
convinced of my love for you.
"Sylvia has already married Kendrix. As her older brother, I want to get married too.
"Or, are you really willing to see me become the object of ridicule in the Jones family?"
Claudia was stunned. Every time the Jones family had a gathering, Gary, Celeste, Ernest, Leah, Kendrix, and Sylvia would all tease Sebastian. It was because they were not legally husband and wife yet. Feeling that it was unfair, Sebastian had pestered Claudia to marry him.
However, Claudia would not agree.
He knew that Claudia was still a little worried.
"I just want to be by your side every day for the rest of our lives. It has been five years, and our relationship is getting better day by day. I think you can continue to believe in me. Marry me,
Claudia."
As he spoke, he took out a ring from his pocket and put it on her finger, completely ignoring her reaction.
Claudia was stunned. She looked at him in a daze.
They had experienced a lot in the past five years, and he had treated her well.
Ever since he confessed his feelings to her, he had never lost his temper.
He could be described as an excellent boyfriend.
Claudia also felt that there was nothing she could fault him.
As she looked at the ring on her finger, Claudia's heart filled with happiness.
"Claudia, I won't make all sorts of promises. I just want to tell you that I'm willing to spend the rest of my life loving you, and I'll continue proving my love for you for the rest of my life. I'll show you that choosing
me is the right choice. So, marry me, okay?"
Claudia was not a little girl anymore, but when she heard those words, she could not help tearing up.
She finally nodded. "Okay."
Sebastian picked her up and gave a shout of joy.
Trying her best to restrain her emotions, she said, "I know that the matters of the heart can be difficult to explain with logical reasoning. don't dare to ask for a lifetime of happiness. If there comes a time where you tell me that you don't love me anymore, I'll let you go."
"Don't say that." Sebastian hugged her tightly and led her toward the bedroom. His expression was grave, and he even looked a little angry. "It seems like there's some misunderstanding between us. That's what must've made you feel a little insecure."
Claudia was left a little speechless. "Sebastian, there's no misunderstanding. You're great. It's just that I don't believe that I can be so happy."
Sebastian placed her on the bed and looked down at her with a smile. "Silly girl. My family greatly despises my father for remarrying. That's why everyone in our family is very loyal. I only want you."
Tears streamed down Claudia's cheeks.
Sebastian kissed her. He kissed away every drop of her tears.
"You've promised to marry me, so let's have a child together."
"But-" she protested.
"No buts. I've been waiting for this day for far too long."
With that, he did not give Claudia another chance to speak anymore.
Feeling as if she was in a daze, Claudia seemed to
see an entire world of
happiness waving at her.
She knew that nothing was constant in the world. However, she believed that as long as she there was love in her heart, she would be able to find happiness.
The end.
