Chapter 183 Longing For Mr. Shao
The salary that Harry offered Ella was tempting, several times higher than the one the American company was paying her. The payment of filming wasn't included in it.
Ella, of course, didn't have a clue of what was going on behind the scenes.
"Okay, I will think about it. My contract expires in a month." She still had a long way to go. It was too early for her to think about the offer.
On the other side of the phone, Lola played with the golden button on the shirt that Harry was wearing, "Ella, come back. We all miss you so much." She did her best to persuade Ella. But it was ultimately up to Ella.
"I miss you too. Thank you, Lola. Please give my thanks to Harry too." Lola's words warmed her heart. During her stay in America, she had hardly made any friends, so, these words made her taste the happiness of friendship once again.
"Don't mention it. Do think about it. We are waiting for you. When you come back, we'll have a good get-together." Again, Lola's words touched her.
After hanging up the phone, Ella went to her villa to see Jane, then hurried back to the apartment as usual.
Samuel was making dinner when she arrived. She was famished, and couldn't wait to taste all the different dishes that Samuel had made for her.
At night, after taking a shower, she lay in the bed and read through her Weibo timeline. The pictures of her and Samuel still floated around on the internet, and still garnered a lot of attention.
Many fans asked her on her Weibo if she and Samuel were together again. Ella was shocked by this question and did not know how to reply to it.
Deep in thought, the door of the bedroom was open and Samuel emerged, after he finalized on a phone call.
Seeing Ella playing with her phone, he took it away and switched off the bedside lamp. Then, he lay down and held her in his arms.
Ella's heart danced with happiness with his hugging. Her mood had been the same, since she started staying with him recently.
Darkness enveloped them as Samuel kissed her, passionately, the heat between them rising. Ella also returned the kiss. "Ella." Samuel whispered beside her ear.
"Hm?" Her breath had quickened, with his skilled kissing and touching, and did not know what he was going to say.
Samuel stopped what he was doing, "I'm flying out tomorrow."
Her stomach knotted at the unexpected news. She actually felt upset about the fact that he was leaving.
Finally she responded with an "Okay" after a long time.
Soon after, the room was engulfed with their passionate moans, as they both secretly feared it would be their last for some time.
Ella did not see Samuel leaving the next day. She stayed at the film studio and looked up at the tiny planes in the sky, wondering which one he was on.
She wasn't in the mood for working that day, which affected the shots they had filmed. They didn't meet the director's vision, so he put off schedules until the next day.
That night, Ella hurried to her villa. Jane was playing with the babysitter's daughter happily when she walked in.
When Jane saw Ella, she ran to her mother in excitement, "Mom, I've missed you so much."
Cuddling Jane in her arms, she felt much better.
It was bedtime. Ella put Jane to sleep, then she also lay in bed. Sleepless and bored, she checked her Weibo and skimmed through Samuel's posts, from beginning to the end.
She knew that with Samuel gone, she was unlikely to get any information on him for a long time.
She dared not go back to the apartment either. No matter how late she worked, she would go to the villa and cuddle her daughter to sleep.
Samuel's scent was everywhere in the apartment, as well as their sweet memories. Ella couldn't bear it.
Samuel was busy with his cases back at C Country, and hardly had time to eat. But he would occasionally take a couple of seconds to ogle at her images on the internet, after each case without fail.
'She is so beautiful.'
Every time he looked at her photos, these words came to his mind.
Time flew. It had been a month since Samuel had left and Ella had led a peaceful life since. She could hardly get any information about him except seeing him on the news once in a while.
Inside a bar.
Ella looked at the whisky in front of her sadly. She recalled the words that Samuel said to her when he drew her in his arms the last time he was in America.
'Samuel, you are a jerk! Is this the attitude that you want to chase me with?' Ella thought to herself.
She drank half the glass in one breath while tears rolled down her cheeks. He would have stopped her from drinking if he had been there.
However, he was now thousands of miles away. No one cared about her swigging whisky continuously.
At last, she got drunk. Then she heard her phone ring.
It was from Lola.
"Hey, Lola." Feeling dizzy, Ella put her head on her arms and picked the call.
On the other side of the phone, Lola said delightfully, "Ella, your contract is due in a week. Have you made your decision yet?"
Lola was a little worried that Ella hadn't responded to her.
The first person that came to Ella's mind was Samuel, which surprised her.
She was wondering if Samuel didn't want anything to do with her, after they slept together.
Moreover, he was rich and successful. Many beautiful women would love to flirt with him. He must be surrounded by beautiful women all the time.
A spurt of anger flashed through her when she thought of this. So she simply replied, "I'll come back! I'll work at C Country after my contract has ended here."
Samuel was a jerk! She would go back to C Country to kick his ass and spoil his plans of picking up hot chicks. That was her plan.
"Very good. See you in a week. We'll treat you to dinner when you arrive." Lola said out without a second thought. Her words made Ella feel warm. It was good to have a group of friends around. Still light-headed, Ella hung up the phone and tried to call Eden.
However, her drunkenness state made her vision blurry, and she could hardly see the letters on the screen clearly.
Stormy Nightclub in C Country.
Lola hung up and looked at Samuel, who was beside Harry, with joy, "All set. Ella is coming back. I have done you a big favor. Think about how to thank me, Mr. Shao!"
With a smile on his face, Samuel filled Lola's glass with beer, then he refilled his as well, "Thank you, Lola. Here is to you."
Lola took up her glass and was about to drink it when Harry took it from her.
"Mr. Shao, what is the meaning of drinking with my wife?"
Samuel had drunk and finished his beer already.
"Relax friend. If I wanted to get her drunk, I wouldn't have poured her a beer." Samuel glanced at Harry, whose face was slightly cold, with contempt. He cherished Lola so much.
"It's okay, Harry. It's just a glass of beer. Let's enjoy ourselves!" She said as she reached out to grab the glass of beer. But Harry drank it at one go.
Putting aside the empty glass before Lola, Harry opened two bottles of white spirit, one in front of him, the other in front of Samuel.
"Mr. Shao, let's see who can hold his liquor."
Samuel took the bottle and was prepared to take up the challenge. Then he remembered the words he told Ella four years ago. That every time he wanted to drink, he would let her know first. "Wait a moment." He put down the bottle and retrieved his phone from the pocket.
Just as he held it, Ella's face illuminated the screen. She was calling him.
Samuel smiled. It's as if they had a telepathic connection.
"Hey, Eden. Pick me up at Hello club. I swear this whisky will kill me. Hurry up, or I'll be dead..." Samuel's demeanor changed when he heard Ella's drunken voice. His smile faded away. 00000☐☐☐
