Chapter 223
Marco immediately helped Letta get into the car before joining her and sitting beside her. He quickly fastened her seatbelt and looked at the bruise encircling her neck.
"This must be very painful," Marco said, gently touching it, causing Letta to nod slowly.
"It's truly excruciating, I'm even having difficulty swallowing my own saliva," Letta replied, prompting Marco to clench his fists.
"I have to find that woman and finish her off myself," Marco said, making Letta shake her head.
"Don't do anything, I saw that woman seemed unwell earlier. She appeared disturbed, so maybe she's just depressed or something, I don't know," Letta responded, but Marco still couldn't accept the woman's actions.
"Still, whether she's crazy or not, how could she hurt people around her, especially in the hospital? I have to sue her," Marco said, making Letta let out a long sigh before caressing her husband's firm jaw that looked hardened.
"No, I'm okay. Yes, it might be just a minor injury, but please don't do anything. Don't add more problems to yourself. I know managing your company and other businesses is already very exhausting, so don't add more to your plate," Letta said, making Marco shake his head.
"How can I stay silent when my wife almost lost her life being strangled by that madwoman?" Marco said, of course, Letta remembered the words the woman had uttered to her.
"She seemed really furious with me," Letta said, making Marco click his tongue in frustration.
"That's just nonsense, her mind is disturbed, she's insane," Marco said, making Letta shake her head again.
"No, I'm sure. Initially, she just looked at me silently. It's as if she recognized my face before she lost control. Her eyes were filled with tears, and I could feel it," Letta answered, visibly making Marco gently stroke the side of Letta's face. "Stop saying that everyone you meet is someone from your past. I'm tired of hearing it. Don't you see what happened afterward? She almost killed you, and you still think she recognizes you?" Marco asked, leaving Letta silent. Of course, Letta knew how angry Marco was right now, but for some reason, she felt that her intuition was telling her otherwise. The woman couldn't have suddenly attacked her if she didn't know her. Letta should have asked what was wrong with the woman. "Let it be, don't make things more chaotic for yourself. You don't need to bother with unclear people like that. It's better if we go home now, treat you, and let you rest. That's what you should do. Never think about others, especially considering your condition, where you shouldn't worry about others," Marco said, making Letta fall silent for a moment in the car, until Marco let out another long sigh. He then looked at his wife's slender neck, which was marked with the bruise from the strangulation, before gently kissing it, causing Letta to close her eyes.
"I'm sorry, I should have just taken you home immediately and not left you alone in that waiting room," Marco said, making Letta shake her head.
"You don't need to feel guilty like that either. Didn't everything happen so quickly? It's as if everything was destined to happen. Maybe if not today, perhaps another incident would have happened to me and caused me the same thing," Letta said, making Marco shake his head.
"No, no, it's my fault. From now on, I will never leave you alone. I'm truly foolish. I should have stayed by your side," Marco said, beginning to blame himself. Letta was uncomfortable with his attitude, always blaming himself for anything that happened to her and Freya, which he should bear responsibility for, but Letta didn't like hearing it.
"Stop blaming yourself. Didn't you say that this was the woman's doing? So that's enough," Letta said, making Marco once again let out a long sigh.
"Fine, then let's just go home. And remember, don't dwell on strange things. That woman couldn't have known you. She's just a madwoman. So don't let it bother you, okay?" Marco said, making Letta nod. They then immediately headed to their large house. Of course, Letta needed to be treated immediately. If not, her injury could become more dangerous. Finally, after a few minutes of driving, Marco got out of the car and opened the door for Letta.
"Are you strong enough to walk?" Marco asked, making Letta nod.
"Yes, my neck hurts, but my legs are fine," Letta replied, making Marco shake his head.
"Still, you might feel dizzy or something. Let me know if you're feeling uncomfortable with your body," Marco said, making Letta nod. Letta then held Marco's hand as he helped her walk slowly. They immediately entered the house, even Desi, who crossed paths with Letta, was surprised to see how bruised Madame's neck looked.
"What happened to you?" Desi asked, who was now Carrying Freya, making Letta smile reassuringly.
"I'm okay, Desi. It's just an accidental injury," Letta replied, making Desi look at Marco, who still had a frustrated look on his face. Desi could already guess from her master's gaze. Letta then reached out her hand, intending to take Freya from Desi's arms, when Marco stopped her.
"For now, let Desi take care of Freya. You need to rest and focus on your injury. The doctor will probably come soon and examine you," Marco said, making Letta immediately look at Freya, who was now smiling at her with a melancholic gaze. "I wanted to hug my daughter. I miss her," Letta replied again.
"No. Just let Freya be. It's better to rest directly," Marco said, guiding Letta, who still didn't want to move away from her daughter. "Did Freya just sleep earlier?" Letta asked, making Desi nod her head.
"Miss just woke up and seems like Miss wants to play," Desi replied, making Letta about to say something, when Marco stopped her.
"That's good then. Daddy's little princess should play with Desi first. Okay, your mother will rest for a while, so don't be fussy and don't disturb her," Marco said, making Freya clap her hands as if understanding her father's words. Marco immediately pulled Letta up the stairs, although Letta was still looking at Freya, who was waving at her. Letta could still take care of Freya, but Marco was truly going to confine her in the room, Letta thought.

"Now lie down," Marco said.
"I have to change my clothes first," Letta said again.
"You just sleep here. I'll get your clothes and change them for you, okay?" Marco said, making Letta widen her eyes.
"Come on, it's my neck that's hurt. I shouldn't have to do something like that. I can change my clothes in the dressroom," Letta said, but Marco ignored her and entered the dressroom. Marco took the clothes his wife would wear, and as Marco said, he didn't just fetch them, but actually helped Letta change her clothes, until a servant knocked on their door.
"Mr. And Mrs., there's a doctor who has arrived," the servant said.
"Tell him to come up directly and check on Letta," Marco said, making the servant nod. Marco then sat beside the bed, then looked at his wife with raised eyebrows.
"Aren't you supposed to go back to the office?" Letta said, making Marco click his tongue in annoyance.
"Do you think I can go to the office with you in this condition? Of course not," Marco said, the answer already predictable to Letta, making her stay silent and do as her husband said.
