Chapter 15
Letta smiled after ending her conversation with Abian. However, her smile quickly faded as she remembered the reality she had to face. Letta had to confront Abian about her pregnancy, and that worried her. Her reverie was abruptly halted as the bedroom door opened, revealing Mia, already dressed for work.
"You really don't consider me as your friend," Mia said with an angry and frustrated face, making Letta furrow her brow.
"Did I do something wrong?" Letta asked, making Mia exhale in annoyance.
"What do you think?" she said again, making Letta shrug nonchalantly. It further frustrated Mia with her friend's attitude. Mia always felt that Letta sometimes guarded her heart, as if she didn't want anything inside her to be read or known by others. This made Mia feel a little disappointed, even though she had always offered whatever help Letta needed.
"How could you send a resignation letter without telling me? Didn't we agree that you would still work for a few more months?" Mia said, making Letta finally understand the reason her friend had a downturned face.
"Didn't I say that I couldn't work there for much longer? I want to move and find another job," Letta said, making Mia squint at her.
"You're not severely ill, are you? Are you hiding it from me? You couldn't possibly not tell me if you were severely ill, in the final stage, and had only a week left to live," Mia guessed, making Letta immediately throw a pillow at her, hitting her face.
"How could you be wishing for your friend to die soon?" Letta said in an annoyed tone.
"I'm not wishing for you, I'm just guessing. In dramas, isn't it that if someone changes, it means they have a big problem, and most of the time in dramas, it's about the end of their life," Mia said, making Letta really want to throw the decorative plant pot at her again, and Mia was already on guard, raising both her hands.
"Alright, alright, I was just guessing. So, tell me the real reason why you're leaving your job," Mia said again, making Letta exhale deeply.
"Didn't I say that I want to work at a coffee shop? I'm tired of flying back and forth," Letta said with a weary expression, making Mia just exhale deeply.
"Alright, if that's your decision, and it seems like your resignation letter is currently being processed," Mia said, making Letta nod. They then fell silent for a moment until Letta spoke up again.
"I've found an apartment big enough for me to live in for the next month while waiting for a new job," Letta said, making Mia look at her with annoyance.
"Didn't I say you can stay here until you secure the job? What if you've already moved, but you still haven't found work?" Mia said, making Letta already able to anticipate her friend's words.
"Don't worry, I'll definitely get a job again soon. Besides, I'm not comfortable constantly staying in this apartment of yours. Your boyfriend would feel sorry, he can't visit freely," Letta said, making Mia sigh in frustration. "You've even thought about that. Fine then, when are you moving?" Mia asked.
"This evening."

"Why so soon? What if the day after tomorrow, when I have a day off from work, I could help you?" Mia said again.
"No need. Besides, I don't have many things, so it will be easy for me to move to the new apartment. Besides, there's already furniture there, so I just need to place it," Letta said, making Mia exhale deeply. Mia accepted her friend's decision. Meanwhile, In another room, Marco fell silent as he read the resignation letter from someone with a very familiar name.
"What reasons led this employee to want to leave our company? Did we not provide enough salary or was their work treatment not good enough?" Marco asked the head of the HR team who handled their human resources. "I'm not sure of the reason, sir," replied Hendra, who always trembled when facing Marco.
"You should find out why this employee is resigning from our company. Isn't there something wrong with our company that they don't want to work here?" Marco said, making Hendra just nod his head.
"I apologize, that was my mistake. In the future, I will pay more attention to asking about the reasons for their departure from our company," Hendra said, making Marco look sharply at the resignation letter and wave his hand, telling Hendra to leave his office. Of course, the name Aletta Leticia written in the letter left Marco silent.
"But it's also good if she quits her job. It will make it easier to manage. At least she can think about her health and also the future of my child in her womb. She can't keep flying back and forth in her pregnant condition," Marco said, as if guessing the reasons Letta thought about leaving her company.
"Then, if she leaves, how can I meet her freely?" Marco mumbled again. Finally, Marco immediately grabbed the phone in front of him.
"Zona, come into my office now," Marco said, and for a few minutes, a tall man entered Marco's room.
"I want you to find out about this employee," Marco said, handing the resignation letter to Zona, who had been his trusted subordinate. Zona furrowed his brow when he saw the name on the resignation letter. "Should I also find out the reason for her resignation?" Zona asked, making Marco nod his head.
"Yes, good idea. Whatever it is, I hope you can find out," Marco said, making Zona nod in understanding. After that, Zona immediately left Marco's office, and Marco fell silent while occasionally envisioning the innocent face that always looked at him with a sharp gaze.
"Letta Leticia," Marco murmured, recalling the name of the woman who was now carrying his flesh and blood. Why did Marco feel a pull that made him want to keep finding out about the woman named Letta? In fact, Marco felt that Letta had truly captured his attention more than he had anticipated before. Marco felt as if Letta could exhilarate him, even though he should be thinking about how to persuade Arabella, who until now had not contacted him. However, Marco continued to play with thoughts about the woman named Letta.
