Chapter 1209 Owing Him Nothing
Jenny remained silent and decided to hang up. She was in a bad mood and didn't want to listen to Alec's nonsense. On the other end of the phone, Alec was still driving and looked confused at her ending the call so suddenly. Although he didn't understand what exactly had happened, one thing was clear to him-Jenny was not happy. He stepped on the gas pedal as he headed toward Walter Castle. A few minutes later, Alec appeared in the living room of Walter Castle, standing in front of Jenny.
"Jenny, can you at least tell me the reason you're angry? I'm really worried about you," Alec said, looking at Jenny beside him, unsure what to say.
Jenny narrowed her eyes and ignored him, which made Alec frustrated. He had no idea why Jenny was upset, so he sat silently, trying hard to recall what he might have done to make her unhappy. Surprisingly, an idea soon popped up in his mind.
He looked at Jenny and asked, "Jenny, are you angry because of Faye?"
Upon hearing her name, Jenny sneered at him. "So, you finally know the reason."
Alec was exasperated. "Jenny, it's not that I didn't know the reason. She just never crossed my mind, so I didn't bring it up."
Jenny threw her phone at Alec. "She never crossed your mind? Well, you've crossed her mind."
Alec looked at the contents on her phone, and his face fell. He hadn't seen the post, most likely because Faye had blocked him.
"I had arranged a meeting with the Wardleys today to discuss a deal, but I didn't expect her to show up. Now she and her brother are part of the Wardley family," Alec explained.
Jenny quickly recalled that there was a Wardley family among the Ten Elites of Bardoff City. That sparked her interest.
"Did Faye suddenly become a member of the Wardley family? Is she the lost daughter of the Wardley family?" Jenny asked.
Alec nodded. "That seems to be the case for now. The Wardley family is currently under the control of her brother, Anthony."
Jenny found it quite interesting. Faye had disappeared for so long that Jenny thought she would never appear again. But now, not only did she reappear, she did so as the heiress of the Wardley family. The twists and turns of life left Jenny feeling rather stumped.
"You said her brother died while saving you? How can he suddenly reappear?" Jenny looked at Alec suspiciously, clearly doubting whether he had lied to her about those things in the past. Alec hurriedly explained, "I'm not sure about the details. I find it strange too. I've asked Vincent to investigate, so we should have some information soon."
"Is that so? Haven't you considered Faye, who is now a member of the Wardley family? Now that you and she are considered a suitable match, don't you have any other thoughts?" Jenny expressed her doubts, considering that Alec had initially met her while trying to save Faye.
Alec was exasperated. "Jenny, what are you thinking? What does her new identity have to do with me? And regarding her brother, even if Anthony did die, I've long since repaid my debt to him."
From the moment Faye laid hands on Jenny in the past, Alec stopped looking after her and sent her abroad. He had been telling himself that he no longer owed Anthony anything.
Due to recent events, it seemed that not only did he not owe Anthony anything, but Anthony also owed him some answers.
