Chapter Epilogue: The Crowning
Zack kept playing with his suit as he shuffled his feet and tried not to think about how badly he was sweating. All eyes were on him but all he could think about was Mackenzie as the music started.
His brothers stood beside him while his parents sat with the rest of the villagers. Zack never thought that he would see his wedding day but here he was, nervous and a little terrified of messing up while he waited to see the love of his life walk down the aisle. He didn’t care about everyone else who had to walk down first and had to stop himself from telling them to hurry up.
Until finally he saw her. Her long white dress covered her body and complimented her in ways that he adored as he meet her eyes. She was perfect, Mack could have been walking down that aisle in a potato sack and he wouldn’t have cared because she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen in his life.
He was so captivated by her beauty that he didn’t realise that she standing in front of him, August giving her away before Zack snapped out of his daze earning a soft chuckling from Mack. The service went by in a blur as he ignored all of it and spent his time just looking at her and how bright her brown eyes were when they looked at him.
Even their crowning as King and Queen had blurred into the back of his mind as found himself sitting at the reception table with Mack’s fingers snapping in front of his face. “You have been in a daze all day, are you okay?”
Zack nodded. “You are beautiful.”
“You keep saying that.” Mack laughed as she kissed his cheek. “I’m happy I make you speechless.”
“More than speechless.” He said as dessert was placed in front of him. His eyes moved from his plate to Mack who stared at the many different spoons in front of her. “This one.”
Mack groaned and almost looked like she was about to cry. “I will never remember all of these stupid spoons!”
Zack couldn’t stop his ongoing chuckling as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder and kissed her temple. “You remembered all of the knives.”
“The steak knife!” She grumbled as she took the spoon Zack was holding. “Stupid silver.”
His chuckles were vibrating the both of them but he didn’t care as her eyes were looking into his. “I will always give you the right utensil when you need me to.”
“Promise?”
“Until my final breath.”
