The Unwanted Luna

Their Mate, My Saviors Chapter 72

-POV

Sawyer-

I stared at the steaming plates heading for the Alphas' suite. I don't know why I froze, but every fiber of my being was fighting me. Oh...probably because my wolf didn't want to defy her new Luna. I rolled my eyes and pushed my hand forward. "Come on you stupid bear! Stop fighting me!" I shouted to her. "This is not the way to get Edon back! This is the way to die. This is treason!" She shouted again and I felt the bead of sweat form over my brow. I guess she was right, but Malerie will fix everything. I just need to do as I was told, right? Right.

I shook my head and let that stupid flea bag yell and whine to herself. I need to focus. I poured the powdered flakes over all of the items on her plate. I'm not too sure if it will go to her per se, but maybe I can make it obvious...so there are no mistakes. I went over to the vase on the kitchen counter and pulled a rose from the initial arrangement. I rested it over her food and turned to hurry out of the kitchen. "So.... I'm sure Malerie is behind this one, but I cannot wait for the alphas to have a chat with you." Gamma Vincent said, leaning in the doorway. I gasped and took a step back while I gripped hold of the now empty vial in my hands. Someone came up from behind and yanked the glass away with one hand and secured my hand behind my back with the other. "Yep, its definitely nightshade. Powerful stuff for a random pack member to get a hold of, don't you think, Vince?" Sh*t...it's Beta Kyle.

My face reddened and I did what I knew would get me out of this. I grit my teeth and tried to lurch out of his grip. "I am the future Luna! How dare you accuse me of such things?!"

They both looked at me in shock and Kyle did not release me. "Okay." Gamma said shortly before ushering towards Kyle and disappearing behind the door.

"Move it!" Kyle growled. My bear immediately submitted and I was pushed forward. We walked up the stairs and I don't think I've been on the fifth floor since Edon rudely threw me out.

"What do you think he's going to do to us now?" My spirit growled.

I shook in my sandals as the door opened and Alpha Edon, Vilkas, and Conri and the imposter Ayame were all there and waiting for me. "We thought you would want to meet your future Luna." Vince said mockingly, before I was thrown into the middle of the room.

"I...I never......." I looked over at Ayame and she was staring back at me while her luscious black locks swayed behind her and her perfect dress, I'm sure the alphas bought her, cascaded over her curves. I may not need Alpha Vilkas and Conri but...but.... I turned to Edon and his stare was as cold as ice. He wanted nothing to do with me. No...that can't be. He's probably just angry that he had to mark that whore. I grit my teeth and my breathing quickened before I stood to my feet and made myself known. "You know what, I was the one who said I would be the Luna of the pack. Well, at least one of them." I confirmed proudly. They have always respected strength over anything else. I am much stronger than her and better than her. I will win them over.

"Really?" Vil said, rubbing his chin.

I pursed my lips and looked over his relaxed demeanor while he leaned back in his chair. "So, you think you are going to be the Luna and you will be able to handle the three of us?"

I froze and turned away from him. "I don't need the three of you. I'm not a toy you can toss around Alpha. I only need one. The strongest of the three of you. I'm sure Malerie will deal with you two when she gets back."

I found myself on the floor with the wind knocked out of me in pure shock. "It seems like she is delusional." Charlie said, stepping over me. I don't even know when he came into the room. "So...since you seem to have this imagination of grandeur, please enlighten us on what Malerie is going to do?"

I scurried to my feet and looked around the room. "I'm not going to get anything in return. Why would I tell you?"

"That's not what you said yesterday." Ayame chimed in and I turned to her with malice in my eyes.

A harsh laugh fell from my lips. "I wouldn't tell you anything. You are going to get what is coming to you." Edon stood from his chair and walked around the desk. I sighed in relief. He's going to take my side. Finally. I smiled up at him and got to my feet. "E-"

"Do you three mind escorting her to the dungeon? I'm sure it will be much easier to get information out of her if we just...force it out." He asked his Gamma, Beta, and Head Warrior.

I gasped in shock. "No...that's not right. You...you are supposed to take my side!" I shrieked. "Malerie said you would take my side!"

He turned his attention to me and his eyes were bright yellow. "How about you just be thankful you are still talking! I barely remember you and yet you still keep showing up in my space. Be it clear, I never wanted you for a Luna, never asked for you to be a Luna and you will never be able to take away my princess! She is mine and you are nothing!" Edon shouted.

That greedy bitch! She can't even let me have just one?! I grit my teeth and stared at her while she looked at Edon, not giving me any attention at all! Like I'm some bug under her shoe while she arrogantly showed off her marks. One of those should be mine! "Now." The room suddenly grew colder. I slowly turned my attention to the man who had stayed quiet in all of this.

"A-Alpha Conri?" I whispered. He terrifies me. I don't know what Adolpha sees in him.

"You can tell us all you know now and make your execution quick and painless or you can spend some time in the arena. Either way, we will get the rest of the information from you. Be grateful that Ayame was the one who overheard your phone call last night." "Yep, because if it was one of us, you would just have been...removed." Kyle growled.

Removed? I cleared my throat and looked around the room begging for an out. It looks like showing strength only got me in even more trouble. Malerie lied about her brother's feelings for me all along, and now.... Now I have a death sentence on my hands. "She is going to be at the Luna Ceremony. She...she's going to bring Richard and...and they will sneak in and drag her out before anyone notices."

"Not possible. The amount of nightshade you put on her breakfast would have killed her immediately. Then, there wouldn't be a Luna Ceremony." Gamma Vincent said.

I shook my head hurriedly. "It was a mix of spices and nightshade. It's only meant to weaken, not kill."

"Weaken who?! A full-grown bear?!" Vil shouted, looking at the vial. "This is a dose that is lethal to a werebear and you are telling me this was only meant to weaken?!"

"It...it wasn't all the way full. She told me to use the poison to kill...but she also said if it doesn't, then she has another plan to fix that issue." I looked at how Edon stared lovingly at that girl and sighed. "I'm sure she is a werebear so she probably would have just gotten a stomach ache." I huffed wishing Edon wasn't the first to mark her but, after the look he showed her, I wouldn't be surprised. Like he said.... I'm nothing to him. The guys in the room exchanged glances and Kyle sighed.

"She is right about that. It was a small dosage Alpha." Kyle chimed in to save me. I sighed in relief.

"I don't care!" Vil shouted before throwing the vial at my feet. I screamed when the glass shattered and stabbed my toes. "You tried to kill her!" He shouted again and I cowered away.

"Vil." A soothing voice rang through the room and it took me away from my pain. I turned to see Ayame glaring at the Alpha and he nodded to her with such care in his eyes.

"See dumbass. She isn't in here because she is spiteful like you. She's in here protecting you from them. Keep that in mind while we wait for our execution." My bear roared before blocking me off completely.

I bit my lip and looked down again. "Continue with the alternative Malerie concocted." Conri pressed and my breath hitched.

"Yes, Alpha." I whispered, knowing I was defeated. "Since Malerie knows that the Luna ceremony is open to all supernatural, she assumed that it would be simple to slip into the pack house and get her out that way and resume her place."

"So, what happens if she isn't there?"

"Then they would hide within the crowds and remove her when we all least expect it." I sighed.

"Least expect it?" He continued to push further. His aura suffocated me.

"During the reception when there are a lot of people and the Luna tends to get separated from her alphas."

"Good to know. I guess she can be killed now." Vince started for my neck and I raised my hands.

"W-wait! I have something else! Please." I begged. Conri waved to me and I rushed my words from my lips. "She has a witch on her side that will disguise both her and Adolpha."

Conri held up his hand and Vince stopped in his tracks. "Why not Richard?" He asked.

"R-Richard is human and she doesn't want to risk getting him involved with the supernatural. He and Tanya think this is just a wedding. Tanya will not be going.... She was um...injured." Ayame's breath hitched and I looked over at her. Is she scared? Psshhh if this is what Malerie does to her friends, then that wench should be.

"Big mistake on her part. I want you to call her." Conri said.

"Wh-what?!" I asked in shock.

He nodded to me again. "I want you to call her and tell her you are sure the Luna has been weakened by the nightshade. Unfortunately, Edon was the first to mate her and it didn't kill her, but she won't be able to fight back." He instructed.

I hurriedly pulled out my phone and dialed the number. She had better pick up. "Hello?!" Her annoyed voice rang through the speaker and the room stood deadly silent. Conri ushered me to continue and I nodded.

"Hey...it's me."
