Their Mate, My Saviors Chapter 40
-POV
Ayame-
We both looked at each other and groaned. "So does this mean we can't be angry at them anymore? This was fun." She huffed, flopping her hand against her bare leg.
I dragged my hand through my hair feeling just as irritated as her. I was hoping to go the whole night before I had to look at any of them a second time. "I don't think we really have a choice. If I want to know why my father's 'bloodline' is not my last name, I better start demanding answers and I had better start now." I added. "The hard part is, we both know they are the only ones I can ask."
Will they listen though is the problem. I don't know, but I do know I need them to start. "Okay...I'll call our friendly neighborhood Neanderthals." Her eyes glazed over and I smirked at her final parting comment.
It didn't take long before we heard a knock at the door. Emily hopped off the bed and answered it, while the four of them flooded into the room. "For a second there, I thought we wouldn't be sleeping -" Kyle started, but Emily's glare ended it.
"If you finish that sentence, we will be having worse problems than you sleeping in the same bed as me." Emily growled. "They need a minute. Let's go." She said, before pulling Kyle out of the room. "I'll be back and I expect her to be in the same shape as when I left her!" I think that girl is getting more and more confident by the day.
"Why are you in here, Pr-" I glared at Edon and, for once, I didn't want to hear my pet name.
"What did we do, already?!" Vil said officially at his limit. Join the club!
I sat up on the bed and crossed my legs. "Sit." I said, ushering them towards the other side of the bed. Edon immediately scooped me up and the three of them sat at the front of the bed with me in Edon's lap. I tried to get loose and he held tighter. "That is not what I meant!" I grumbled.
"The bed's a little small but we will make it fit. Now talk." Edon said sternly.
"Now you want to hear what I have to say?" I said, not even batting an eye. "What do you mean by that?" Vil asked.
I turned and slapped him. He rested his hand where mine made contact with his arm and shot daggers at me. I know it didn't hurt him, but it's the thought that counts. "I already told you and apparently you weren't listening then either." "Ah, so this is a Vil problem." Edon said, triumphantly.
I huffed and lurched myself away this time, scurrying to the foot of the bed that they were supposed to be sitting on. "No, this is a triplet problem! You told me if I had problems you would listen. You promised you wouldn't let me hold in my issues or fears anymore, but every day that goes by, it's getting worse and you guys don't even care. How long has it been since the three of us actually sat down together? When was the last time you let me in the office with you just because I wanted to see you? When was the last time you asked me about what spirit I wanted to be or when I will be able to see yours? Why weren't you there when I found out that I might not be who I think I am? Why did I have to find that out from a stupid book someone else gave me!" I shouted, throwing the book at Conri's chest. He grabbed it and I was in tears now. "Come here, princess, please. I'm so sorry we got wrapped up in our plan and we completely forgot the person we were supposed to be protecting needs our time too. We will make it up to you tomorrow, okay? You will have us for the whole day." I rubbed my eyes and looked between the three of them. "Edon's right. I'm sorry too. We will do whatever you want tomorrow. I promise, Angel." Vil added. I sighed and crawled up into Edon's arms again. He burrowed me into his chest and wrapped his arms around me, kissing the top of my head.
Conri stayed silent and stared at the book's cover. "Where did you get this book, little one?"
I looked down at my fingers, which seemed really interesting all of a sudden. "Doc gave it to me."
He sighed in relief. "Good. This book is dangerous. Only those who understand it's purpose should be using it." Dangerous? Other than the prick on my finger, I didn't see anything wrong with it.
"There you go again with all your cryptic nonsense." I huffed, trying to rub away the tears.
"This book gives you the bloodline of any person or creature with the prick of a finger. You can get its family tree, it's supernatural lineage, its - wait. What did it say when you pricked your finger?" Conri asked knowingly. He didn't even have to ask me what I meant about the book when I threw it at him. He knew that what I found was not what I wanted to see. I could tell from his clenched jaw and flashing eyes.
"It...it told me my family name."
"And what is that family name? Pierce right?" Vil asked.
I shook my head. "It only shows your father's lineage, so it'd have to be Pierce." Conri added. Wrong again.
"It was Radavier." I could hear the wind shift in the room as the three men froze. It didn't even seem like they were breathing.
"What?" Conri said, finally breaking the silence.
"R-Radavier?" I repeated.
"That's an interesting name and it's definitely not something you hear everyday." Vil said.
"Then why does it sound like you've all heard it before?" I questioned, and they exchanged looks. I know those looks. True to form, they all stayed silent. "Fine. Don't tell me, but because you want to play ignorant, I would rather spend time with your spirits tomorrow than you. Actually, let's just keep our distance. I'll still go to practice, but I'd prefer a female teacher from now on. That's what I want, now get out."
"Oh, come on, princess."
"Please, go away." I whispered as a sharp pain danced through my veins. Is it because I wanted them to disappear? Edon let me go and sighed before the three of them walked out of the room, sulking.
I know I was being really hard on them, but it was hard on me to just let this go. It was almost as if they were doing this on purpose. Every single day I had to hear, 'another time, princess,' or 'go talk to [insert other triplet's name here], or even, 'not right now, angel. It made me wonder if I was being lied to again.
I don't want their love only when I'm hurt or angry with them. I...I thought this would be easier, but it isn't. I just.... I want to go home. I want to see my mom...I want to find peace again. -POV Edon-
Finally, today was the day. I knocked on her door first thing in the morning. Mission, fix our fuck up was a go. At some point, we needed to make amends. We waited until the weekend after we had to leave her room with our tails between our legs. Gave her all the space we could and now, it's time to spoil her rotten. I knocked again, not hearing an answer. "Princess?" I called.
I heard shuffling, then the small patting of her footsteps against the hardwood. She was so tiny even her footprints barely made a sound. Ayame then found herself in front of me, holding the door in between us, while she rubbed her eyes. "What are you doing here?" She asked. I heard my bear groan at that question. Why wouldn't I be here?! She's here. "We are going to take you somewhere."
She stared blankly for a moment then furrowed her brows. "What?" She grumbled. "I already told you three, I don't want to talk to you if all I'm going to get is half truths that make me feel better in the moment. I have to train with Emily in an hour. Just let me sleep." She moaned before attempting to close the door in my face.
I immediately held out my hand to catch it and yanked her out of the room, by scooping her in my arms. "No can do, princess."
She bit back a smile and I grinned triumphantly. Kyle may have been an idiot, but he isn't wrong. It is extremely difficult to be angry at your mates and it's almost impossible after the bond is completed. You actually feel physical pain when you are angry at them. I saw it in Ayame's eyes that night too, when her body shuddered against mine. I need this bond and so does she. A bond I so desperately want to consummate and soon.
"Put me down!" She shouted and I nuzzled her neck softly.
"Not a chance. Let's go. You can change on the plane." She huffed and folded her arms while I ran down the stairs. When we made it outside, it was still dark and she wrapped her arms around herself a little tighter.
"What time is it?!" She asked irritably. Not a morning person. Fair.
"Almost six in the morning, little one. We have a flight to catch." Conri called.
"Wait, plane, flight.... Where are we going that'll require a flight to get there?!" She whined.
I climbed into the back seat and let her snuggle into my chest. I knew her walls were cracking when she didn't push against it. "Surprise, Angel." Vil said half-heartedly, rubbing his eyes and yawning before looking of out the window. Also, not a morning person. They do have something in common.
"What if I said I don't like surprises as much as I don't like you guys right now?" She mumbled, half asleep again.
"Then we would know you are lying." Conri said, while the driver sped off towards the air strip.
She was wearing one of Conri's sweat pants and one of my long sleeved shirts that disappeared a day or two after she kicked us out of her room. She is missing us just as much as we missed her. Her outfit alone was enough to confirm that. "Prove it." She grumbled back. Conri growled lowly and even I was ready for the challenge. "Oh, we will, little one. Count on it." I growled along with him.
