Their Mate, My Saviors Chapter 106
-POV
Ayame-
Once the guys got here, the three of them buried me in a hug and I laughed lightly, patting Conri and Vil's shoulders. Even if I could have gotten Edon as my mate after the transfer, it just wouldn't be the same without his brothers. I won't go back on that thought because...well...it's the truth. "Hey angel." Vil kissed his mark, and a shiver ran down my spine. I'll never get used to this.
"Hi. I'm glad you guys decided to head this way. It made this a lot easier." I pressed my body further into theirs and the growls were there and accounted for. "Sometimes I think you just like to torture them." My wolf grumbled. "And me."
I held in a laugh. "Yes. Yes I do." I hummed back.
Conri pursed his lips and nodded slowly. "Made what a little easier?" Like I thought. They tried to hide it but all three of them were stressed beyond measure. I'm glad they really do love me as much as they say, but it hurts a little that they didn't think I loved them back just the
same.
I shook my head and skipped over to the dining room. "Nothing bad. Dinner is ready. Let's chat in the hall." I called over my shoulder, intentionally taunting them.
They hesitantly followed and the sound of clacking silverware was all that was heard for a while until I looked around the room and cleared my throat. "Finally, want to talk?" Vil asked with a snicker. Ugh, sometimes I wish he wouldn't know me so well.
I blushed and nodded. "Yes. I wanted to tell you three that, um...I'm sorry for making you wait so long, but I wanted to be sure of my decision. It was the first time in a while that the decision wasn't made for me, and I wanted to make sure I didn't let that cloud my judgement." I glanced over at my dad and he nodded. "You can do this starlight." Oh I am so glad our link didn't sever when he took over the werebear kingdom.
I took a breath and looked at each of them before letting the decision fly. "I want to keep my wolf spirit and stay with you three. It...it just wouldn't be right to -"
I was pulled out of my seat in seconds and buried in someone's arms, but I'm not too sure whose. "Oh thank the goddess." Conri said, shocking me out of my surprise.
Edon's laugh rang through the room. "You almost got us there, princess. The minute I stepped into the castle I was hoping that we would still feel the bond. Even though we did...you didn't say anything. I thought you'd just want us here to witness the shift."
I shook my head. "I would never do something so cruel."
"We know." The three of them said together.
"We were just...uh...worried." Vil added, clearing his throat. Oh, then I guess he was just bluffing earlier.
"For what?! Your mate is perfection! It's you three you should be worried about." My dad huffed.
"Oh really, want to go for round two old man?" Edon growled playfully and I watched as my father actually rose to the occasion.
I smiled at all the men in my life that I now call family and the joy it brought me made my heart whole again. "We can really do this." I said to my wolf.
"Yes, we can, because we aren't doing it alone." Of course she is right. We aren't doing it alone.
We decided to stay the night and head back in the morning and it was nice to stay over just this once. On our way back to our territory, I switched between Edon and Vil's laps while Conri drove. I decided to keep my car at dad's. Once we were about an hour away, I stretched a bit and turned to the men communicating through their link.
I smirked lightly. And to think, they said they wouldn't do that whole silent conversation nonsense anymore. "I have another thing I want to say." I called, getting their attention. "And what would that be, little one?"
"I want to go back to school."
Edon and Vil nodded while Conri stayed silent. "Now?" Vil asked. "I'm not against it. I'm just surprised is all. There has been a lot going on lately, angel. Maybe...take a break first?"
I nodded. "No, that would mean I'd be even older when I restart. I don't want to be in school forever. We have a pack to run."
They hesitated, but eventually Edon turned to me. "I guess that makes sense, princess, but please pace yourself." He warned.
"I found an online program at a small college in Ontario and I would like to attend. I will have to go to campus for finals and midterms, but I think I can make it work. I mean, we have our own jet. I will make sure to pace myself too." I wasn't going to let them talk me out of this. Even with their worry growing, I was going to plead my case for this. It is something I need to do. Something that I've always dreamed about. I may not go about it the traditional way, but who cares. I just want to complete it.
"The term has already started for most colleges." Edon continued.
I nodded in agreement. "Yep! I want to start in the spring, if...it's okay with you three. It will give me some more time to figure out my role and my thoughts. Give me that break you were talking about Vil. But, it will also allow me time to plan out the next few years. I have to be quick about this. Like I said, we have a pack to run." I added lightly, trying to get them on my side.
"Okay." Conri said.
"Okay?" I asked as my mouth dropped at the ease of his decision. I am not surprised about Vil and Edon's hesitation, but I thought Conri would be the hardest to convince.
"Yeah. Now that you have given us an honest reason, I agree with Conri. Remember we said we wanted you to work for our human businesses too. We know you aren't that kind of girl that just sits back and enjoys our splendors. It's actually what makes you so refreshing. We will be happy to help any way we can, angel. But, we are really proud of the werewolf you are becoming and whatever you need to get there, we will be here to watch it unfold." Vil added with a nod.
I reached over and kissed him, letting my legs straddle his. "Hey! No fair!" Edon called and I pulled away to laugh at his childish remark. "I agree too!!"
"Trust me, I didn't forget about you." I added happily. "You either...Conri."
"Good to know." They both added suggestively.
Once we made it back to the pack house, we got to work right away, and it was quite a feat. There was so much to do, but it was all worth it. We even decided that it was time to do something about Adolpha and Sawyer. As promised, Sawyer was released as a rogue and she actually thanked us for her freedom. Adolpha, however, can no longer be trusted and was unfortunately put to death, no matter how much I fought against it.
I know it was part of my trial to face my enemies and win, but I killed Malerie and Donna because I had to. I always think there is another way. However, no one on the list of ranked members thought that was the case. They all overruled me. Even Zelena and Emily. My triplets and the others were tired of their nonsense and they didn't want anyone to think we would ever allow this level of mutiny to happen again.
After a few weeks went by, I finished my applications and by the end of November. I was enrolled and signed up for classes shortly thereafter. After the battles we faced together, school would be nothing. When I signed up for the same general electives I already finished years ago, I couldn't help but call Uncle Rollo. He definitely got an earful when the affects of his memory wipe finally sunk in. He graciously took the pain and my triplets couldn't help but laugh at the event.
The world started to slow when the classes began and I could finally breath again. We even heard that Tanya was able to divorce Richard due to the drastic memory loss he...endured. He's now on twenty-four hour watch at a psych ward. Even though I know she didn't like me, I'm happy that she can find her peace away from that horrid man. Just like I had.
As the weeks turned to months, then years, the end of my senior year came and went in a blur. I was now twenty-five and the demons were finally silenced. I had some relapses over the years, but like they promised, my family was there. They were always there.
I was staring out at the quad I came to love when I would stay for finals. It was a tranquil heaven that helped me relax my mind when the stress started to rise. The trickle of the fountains reminded me of the time I was given the official right to rule as their luna. The bliss of the run I felt with my mates for the very first time. It was pleasant to remember the happy moments. "You really are a daydreamer." Emily said, giggling lightly. Oh, did I mention Emily decided to come along with me? It made our time in school a lot more bearable, but even spending a week away every three months was proving to be quite taxing on the both of us. Especially since she has a little one to take care of.
Maicoh was the sweetest child and he and Raven got along swimmingly. Lena even volunteers to take care of him while the guys are out and we have to go to school. That tends to happen a lot, but we try to relieve her when we get back. Even better, there is a third pup coming into the fold. Lena and Charlie are expecting! I love being an aunt and let's just say, the more the merrier. I still haven't gotten over my human problems, as Emily calls it, so I'm still waiting to marry my mates before we even think about kids, but I also watched the worry and stress Emily had to go through during our time in school and I did not want to do that to myself. Ever.
I tapped her lightly as we walked towards the main parking lot. "I'm not daydreaming. I'm just relieved it's finally over."
"It's not over until we get that diploma. I earned that stupid piece of paper!" She shouted with a newfound determination.
I giggled lightly. "True, but at least we both agreed it'll be easier to mail it."
She scoffed. "No one has time for a six-hour ceremony! I mean, come on! Break it up a little!" She shouted as if the world was against her.
I tried to calm her down but that wasn't going to happen. She will always be quite the spitfire. "You know we can hear you from space and you would still be too loud." Came an oh-so familiar voice. I turned to see Edon, Conri, and Vil dressed to the nines in their business attire. "Seriously Emily, take it down a whole lifetime." Vil groaned.
"Oh, shut it alpha." Emily grumbled.
"Emily, there is someone else here to see you too." Conri called behind his shoulder and a little three-year-old came running around my triplets and Emily's smile lit up the whole area.
"Maicoh! I'm so glad to see you, my perfect boy!" She hummed happily while the little man giggled in her arms.
"Come on, Em. These four have some things to chat about." Kyle called and she rushed over to meet him, not even giving me a second glance.
I still waved to her before turning to the men of the hour. "What are you three doing here?" I asked, running up to hug them. I could sense the eyes on us and I know these three have that effect on people, so I'm not too bothered by it anymore. "What, we can't come to see you, princess?" Edon asked, feigning shock.
"N-no...that's not what I mean. We usually see you all at the airport. I was just surprised you guys came to get me."
"Uhuh." The three of them added.
"Hop in." Conri said, grabbing my bag.
"Sure. Where are we going?"
Vil scoffed and hopped in the passenger seat while Conri climbed in the back behind me and Edon was up to drive this time. "Can't we just surprise you every now and again? It's time for us to celebrate."
"Celebrate?"
"Well, you and Emily don't want to go to the graduation, and you also said a party was out of the question, so we thought of something else that might interest you." Conri slipped his hand over my leg, and I nodded at his explanation. "Alright then. After all these years, I've learned to just go with the flow." I said with a soft laugh.
We made it to a small seafood restaurant, and I beamed at the food choices. Aside from beef stew, seafood really was my favorite. I talked to them about school and finals, and they told me about the business and some of the things I'll be helping with after the summer is over. We all agreed it would be nice to take one last break.
Finally, a delicious apple pie was presented to us for dessert with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I enjoyed every bit and the guys started to get antsy. I wonder why? "Little one?" Conri said.
I looked up and smiled brightly "Yes, daddy?" I wasn't too worried about using their nicknames anymore. I was with them and that's all that mattered. If someone has something to say about it, then they can look elsewhere. There are still some places we like to keep it quiet, but usually we are free to be us and that's how I liked it.
"The three of us were thinking and we thought that since you finally graduated, it's time that we asked you something that has been on our minds for a while now." Edon added.
"And what might that be?" I asked, dropping the last bite of my sugary treat across my lips.
"Will you marry us?" The three voices said together as Conri and Edon presented perfect bands adorned with diamonds and Vil held out a simple ring with an icy blue stone in the center.
My heart stopped at the sight, and I felt the tears fall before I could control them. "Yes! A million times Yes!" I shouted, overjoyed that they finally asked me.
Now I can finally see them as my future husbands. I don't care about my human problems. They gave me my soon-to-be husbands, and I'll call that a win! As Edon slipped his ring on first, then Vil and finally Conri, I realized they were custom made to sit together and made the perfect ring for me. Who says a woman can't have it all? "We love you, princess." They said together and I ran around the table and slammed my body into theirs.
"I love you too. Forever."
