Melanie said, “Your appearance here will only disturb them.”

than see her looking at him as if he did not exist. Her gaze was terrifyingly calm.
He also did not want to hear Melanie speaking to him in this peaceful yet distant
tone.
Many people used to say that he and Melanie were similar, and Eugene used to
think that was natural. After all, Melanie was someone he had taught. Naturally,

in his heart.

back at his feet, and then arranged her offerings.
She did not look at Eugene. She squatted down with the flowers as she silently
recited the words she wanted to say to her grandfather.

Melanie said, “She’s still too young to come and see you. When she’s older, she'll
come.”
She packed up and left after paying respects to her grandparents, with Eugene
following her.
Melanie did not want to argue with him here, so she did not care that he was
