The True Lady Strikes Back novel (Cecilia and Christopher)

Chapter 39

Chapter 39

Cecilia also asked Christopher why he liked her.

Christopher's answer was he was attracted to her looks..

However, she did not believe it because she was unfashionable and unattractive in the past.

Even if she worked at Skyhaven Club, she dressed up like a punk and wore a mask. She looked a little wild at most. Christopher raised his hand and touched Cecilia's nose.

Cecilia moved to the car door in shock. "I'm being serious. Don't touch me."

As soon as he finished speaking, Christopher raised his leg and rubbed against Cecilia's.

"Okay, I touched you."

When Cecilia sat down, the hemline of her slit skirt hung down, revealing her legs.

The man's body warmth came through the thin clothes with a thrilling numbness. She immediately withdrew her legs and sat next to the car door.

"Christopher!"

Seeing her lose her temper, Christopher immediately became. obedient and serious.

"Ceci, I've seen you three years ago. The strong contrast in your situation aroused my interest." Cecilia's beautiful eyes opened slightly. "When I first came to Quilton three years ago?"

She carefully recalled her memories but found nothing related to Christopher.

The True Lady Strikes Back

Christopher nodded. "If you want to know when it happened, sit down."

Cecilia was not curious, but she still wanted to know why Christopher was interested in her.

She moved back to her original position and pushed the man's leg away with her index finger.

"I don't remember seeing you."

She had a good memory. She did not remember everyone she met clearly, but she would have an impression of them.

"I was in Central Hospital at that time. You kept your head down from entering the hospital to leaving. I saw you." Christopher and Cecilia were similar in temper; they were both indifferent.

He would notice a little girl he did not know because...

"When you went to the hospital, your cheeks were rosy, you had people at your beck and call, and your eyes were glimmering. When you left, your face was pale and your eyes were dim as if you had been abandoned."

It made him think of himself. That was why he became interested.

Cecilia did not know which day Christopher was talking about, but she knew what it was about.

When Cecilia first returned to the Yancey family, they were worried she would resist giving blood to Juliana.

Every time she went to the hospital, they would thoughtfully spend time with her and say a lot of things that showed concern for her.

Once Cecilia gave blood, they would forget about her and only have Juliana in their minds.

"Did you think I was st**id and pitiful?"

In retrospect, that was how she thought of herself.

The Trady Strikes Back

Christopher shook his head. "No, I just don't think your efforts are worth it."

Cecilia nodded in agreement. "It's not worth it, but it's a pity that I found out so late."

After saying that, she changed back to the topic. "What does it have to do with you liking me? You're not a sympathetic person."

"Do you remember your first New Year's Eve after returning to the Yancey family?"

Cecilia remembered it so clearly

On the day of the family reunion, she was exposed as a mistress.

The Yancey family only believed in the "amorous photo" with a tricky angle but not her explanation.

They said all kinds of unpleasant things about her.

They chased her back into the room and made her ponder over her mistake without even letting her have New Year's Eve dinner.. Disappointed, she sneaked out and took a taxi to the busiest place in Quilton.

She went to Skyhaven Club.

Skyhaven Club held New Year's Eve activities every year. It was so bustling made her forget the trouble.

That day, she rushed to the stage and played drums.

Then, she became an employee of Skyhaven Club, playing regularly and earning extra money.

Thinking of this, Cecilia asked, "You were there that night?"

Christopher reached out his hand to pull Cecilia's hair behind her ear before humming in response.

"I was wondering which one is the real you; the girl with a soft

personality or the powerful drummer."

Only then did he become officially interested in Cecilia and want to know her.

After knowing enough, he fell in love with her and wanted to protect her.

Cecilia patted Christopher's hand away. "What else do you know about me?"

"I'll tell you later. Let's eat first."

As soon as she finished speaking, the car stopped.

Christopher got out of the car and opened the door for Cecilia in a gentlemanly manner.

Cecilia got out of the car and glanced at the romantic, fine

dining restaurant.

Although she had never been here, she knew that this

restaurant mainly served couples.

"Christopher, did you do this on purpose?"

"Yeah, I did. Are you going to treat me or not?"

They were already at the door, and Cecilia did not want to cause any more trouble.

"Please. The restaurant doesn't stipulate that non-couples won't be served."

When they entered the restaurant, there was no one in it. The restaurant had been reserved.

It was exactly what Cecilia wanted.

She did not want anyone to misunderstand her relationship with Christopher.

She was considered Christopher's female companion in the auction last time.

However, when they dined at a fine dining restaurant for couples, it was hard to explain.

The True Lady Strikes Back.

The waiter led them to the third floor.

The table next to the window was decorated romantically. There were candles, rose petals, and red wine.

Christopher snapped his fingers, and the melodious sound of a violin rang.

He stretched out his right hand and bowed like a gentleman. "Ceci, may I have a dance?"

Although there were no guests in the restaurant, the staff were there.

Thinking she could not reject Christopher since she was buying him a meal, Cecilia put her hand on his palm. "Let's not dance too long. I'm a little hungry." Christopher knew it was an excuse, but he nodded with a smile. "Okay."

The piano music alternated between fast and slow, and the two met and separated to piece together a beautiful and passionate waltz.

When the song ended, Christopher stopped as promised.

The two came to the table and sat opposite each other.

Their meal was soon served; it was sumptuous.

This restaurant was famous not only for being romantic but also because it made good food.

Especially the foie gras; it was the best in Quilton.

Cecilia was not a big fan of steak, but she ate a lot tonight.

They had dessert after finishing the meal; a heart-shaped pink

cake.

Cecilia thought Christopher ordered it for her, but he took it away after the waiter served it.

Watching the man put the cake into his mouth without hesitation, she asked, "You didn't order me one?" The True Lady Strikes Back

It looked quite delicious, and she wanted to try it.

Christopher explained, "They only serve one cake per table. If you want to eat it, you can have it

He did not lie, but he deliberately grabbed the cake first.

If the dinner was too smooth sailing, it would not be memorable, and they would forget about it easily.

However, with an anomaly, Cecilia would remember tonight every time she saw a cake or had steak.

Cecilia naturally had no idea about Christopher's scheme. Looking at the eaten cake handed over, she immediately refused. "No thanks. You can eat it." Without any hesitation, Christopher finished the cake in front of Cecilia.

He made Cecilia have cravings for the cake.

She looked at the empty plate with some resentment and asked, "Can we settle the bill and leave now?"

"Don't worry. Let's sit and rest for a bit. Let's also talk about

how you'll fight back after your background is exposed."
