Chapter 9 (Part One)
When Lambert led his team and arrived at the gate of the building, the manager of the executive department immediately
greeted them with a smile, bowed and shook hands. The executive clerk who was so absorbed in looking at the handsome man
that she almost forgot her duty followed to greet. Nicole knew that she couldn't escape. Instead of making any other reaction at
this time, she'd better force herself to calm down and pretend that she didn't know him.
Lambert still saw her, but as expected, he was not surprised or looked at her with new impression. He just glanced at her with a
meaningful look.
Fortunately, Nicole didn't have to shake hands with Lambert. All she needed to do was to lead the way and become a quiet
beauty. When the group of people were taken to the elevator, she was secretly relieved. When they went upstairs, the senior
executives of the companies received them and visited the company. Then the leaders of the two companies went to the meeting
room.
At this time, Nicole didn't need to serve them with tea or water. She returned to her position. The female colleagues in the office
were all very gossipy. They kept asking her questions, all about the executives of the AI Group, how many people were there,
and whether there was a row of famous cars downstairs. It turned out that they had seen some upstairs. In addition, when the
group members of the AI Group came up, although they stayed in the office and at least saw a little, they were more curious.
Nicole was not interested in answering, but only responded vaguely. In fact, she was just a substitute hostess and didn't have
much contact with the team.
When Nicole got off work, she still didn't see anyone come out of the meeting room. She habitually looked at the general
manager's office, where the door was closed. And from now on, she was afraid that the name of Eric would be changed to
someone else, which made her more and more disappointed.
Nicole ordered a cup of coffee and dessert in the coffee shop near the company, which were served as her dinner. She was
worried about the future and was in a bad mood, so she ate very slowly. When the lights were on, there was many couples on
the street. She looked at the couples and lost in thought. It was not until a familiar car parked in the parking lot outside the cafe
that her eyes were attracted.
It was Eric who got out of the car. Now he took off his suit and changed into a long windbreaker, coupled with a plaid scarf. He
dressed more casual, young and handsome than before. He ordered a cup of hot coffee and dessert in the coffee shop and
packed them up before leaving. However, at the door, he was bumped into by two kids who were laughing and joking along the
street. The coffee spilled all over the ground and stained his sleeves.
With an empty cup in one hand and a dessert in the other, Eric was hesitating. At this moment, Nicole stood up and was about to
go out to give him a tissue to clean up, but suddenly Nicole saw a beautiful woman get out of his car, quickly take out a
handkerchief to help him to wipe, frowned and scolded.
The beautiful woman was wearing a hat with long curly hair. Even if she only showed her side face, it could be seen that she was
very beautiful. It seemed that Eric had a good relationship with her. Being scolded by her, Eric just smiled helplessly. Then he let
the beautiful woman hold his hand and happily got in the car and left.
Nicole stood by the glass window, rubbing a piece of tissue in her hand. Suddenly, she felt that what she had done was
unnecessary. Eric probably didn't know that there was a person like her. Two years ago, when she just came back to the A City,
her suitcase was turned down from the elevator in the airport, and he helped her to hold it in time, and then he sent her to take a
taxi. She once lost her way at the corner of the street, he gave her directions. When they met in the cafe, a smile was shown on
the face and they nodded like a passers-by; when she was applying for a job, he had interviewed her, but he didn't remember
that they had met each other many times.
But he didn't know that from the first meeting at the airport he enthusiastically helped her, she remembered him deeply. Every
time after that, it was like fate, as if it was destined. A quick glance at him or a passing-by him deepened her impression of him,
so that it formed a hazy feeling.
The fate between people was very mysterious, and the feelings between people were so unpredictable. Sometimes, the two of
them who lived together might not have feelings for each other for the rest of their lives, but sometimes they just looked at each
other and fell in love with each other secretly with a single move.
She was lucky enough to work in the E Venture Capital Company, because this job gave her the chance to know him. He didn't
let her down. The more she knew about him, the more she appreciated his character, and she missed him very much. However,
the more she knew about him, the more she knew he was just like a dream. She was far from him, and there were too many
impossible things between them. Even if she loved him, she could only treat it as a secret love, and hide it in the most beautiful
time in her life.
On the second day, when Nicole went to work, she knew that Eric had already returned to the headquarters of the E Group. After
all, the CEO of the E Group was his real identity, and the position of general manager of the E Venture Capital Company was
only a part-time job for him. Now that the AI Group had been purchased it with 70% shares, he didn't need to stay in the E
Venture Capital Company in the future.
The secretary had already sorted out his documents. When everything was ready, there was no more Eric's things here. He
probably wouldn't come back again.
Because of the change in the company, the atmosphere in the office was very low, and the people of the AI Group would come
tomorrow. So far, they still didn't know who the new general manager was. 'Is he a long haired foreigner, a Chinese man with a
square face, or a powerful woman?'
Nicole was very nervous, but she also dutifully passed this day. Nicole firmly believed that even if it was Lambert's company, as
long as she actively worked without any mistakes, Lambert would not be able to do anything to her.
