After a night to cool down, Seline felt much calmer. She began to suspect that this whole thing might have been orchestrated by Hendrix.

Even if he was serious about getting married, why would he choose her out of all the eligible socialites in Coppersville? He knew full well about her relationship with Noelle.

So, was he doing this on purpose? Was he intentionally setting up this blind date to send a message to Noelle to make her jealous and upset?

The more Seline thought about it, the more plausible it seemed. And it was precisely because of this that she found her anger toward Hendrix vanished all of a sudden.

The next morning, Seline took her time getting ready before heading to the café.

But the moment her eyes met Hendrix's, she realized she had overestimated him, as he looked genuinely surprised to see her. Clearly, he hadn't expected to run into her here and had no idea that Seline was the one he was supposed to meet.

In that instant, all of Seline's theories from the night before crumbled-Hendrix really was serious about getting married!

Her expression hardened, and her eyes turned icy as she glared at him. If looks could kill, Hendrix would have been riddled with holes by now.

But Hendrix remained composed as he took a seat across from her. "Ms. Swift, I didn't expect it to be you."

"Oh? Then, who did you expect?" Seline retorted with a cold smile.

Hendrix ignored her question and instead asked, "But you don't seem surprised to see me. So, did you already know you'd be meeting me?"

"So what if I did?"

Hendrix frowned slightly at her words. Then, he said, "You're Noelle's friend, so let's not waste each other's time. Goodbye."

With that, he stood up to leave.

Seline laughed as she watched him. "Hendrix, why don't you just drop the act?"

In all of Coppersville, there were few who dared to address Hendrix by his name. Yet, Seline did so without hesitation. What was more, there was an edge to her tone,

"So, you don't want to waste time just because I'm Noelle's friend? But if it were someone else, you'd be fine with it, right? Just how much of a hurry are you in to want to get married that bad? Have you even thought about Noelle?"

"We're already divorced," Hendrix said calmly, still standing. "Besides, she was the one who left me, so you can hardly expect me to remain celibate for her sake."

"I don't want to judge what happened between you two back then, but what you're doing now is wrong!" "Why is it wrong?" Hendrix asked with a cold chuckle. "I gave her a choice back then, and she stubbornly chose to leave. Who's to blame for that?"

Seline's expression immediately changed. She then stared at him in disbelief. "So you knew"

"Yes, I knew," Hendrix replied calmly. "She's an adult, so it's only natural that she takes responsibility for her choices, isn't it?"

Seline was speechless. As she looked at the man before her she never felt his indifference for a moment. Hendrix didn't spare her another glance. After finishing his piece, he turned and walked out of the café. Seline watched his retreating figure, her legs giving way as she slumped back into the booth.
