The Sun God Diaries

Chapter Chapter Fifty-Five: Clingy Mates and Sigma Chi Gamma

Several days after the chaotic rescue, I can honestly say that having thirteen Alphas for soulmates is both a blessing and a curse.

Why?

Simple. Having thirteen Alphas for soulmates is a curse because after being rescued from another clingy Alpha (who was a total douche-waffle and a rogue) can lead to one, some, or ALL of them vowing to never leave your sight. And it’s even worse when your Alpha brothers and fathers (and even your best friends) all agree that you’re to be under constant watch.

I mean, at first glance it doesn’t sound like a bad idea especially when the threats of nightmares about being raped and married to the captor and separated from my family looms in your mind. But for my case (as I didn’t have any nightmares while in captivity)...well, let me just say that I was starting to be claustrophobic.

Take the day after being kidnapped and the rule of being under close watch went into effect.

“Malachi!”

My heart nearly dropped low as Damien was staring me down while I was putting on my tennis shoes. “What?” I said, looking around. “What’s going on?”

He gave me a pointed look as he stepped into my bedroom. “What on Earth are you doing?” he asked.

“Uh, simply getting ready for my workout session. You know that my godfathers want me to be in tip-top shape.”

“Yeah, but you just got rescued yesterday,” Isaiah pointed out as he and Ian came into the room, crossing their arms. “And not only that, you’re carrying our children. It’s not good for you to overexert yourself. I’ll need to talk to the hunters about this.”

“What?” I exclaimed just as I saw Uncle Clay and Uncle Colin arrive. “Guys, please tell them that I’m perfectly fine and I-”

Ian cut me off. “Sirs, I think that it’s only fitting that Malachi starts taking it easy,” he said curtly. “I mean, our love was just rescued by a nasty Alpha who was about to take him to no-man’s-land in Denmark. The thought of him being away for even thirty minutes doesn’t sit well with either of us.”

“Come on, kid,” Uncle Clay replied. “Malachi is capable of handling himself, even if he’s starting to look like-”

“‘Even if he’s starting to look like’ what?” Olodom interrupted, eyes glowing in anger. “Choose your words wisely.”

Uncle Colin glared at the other hunter. “We’ll stop the combat training until Malachi is married and has some time with his children,” he said, briskly calming the other Alphas. “And sorry for what my friend is trying to imply. Malachi is glowing and he needs to rest.”

“Damn right,” Nathaniel said, eyes glowing gold in power. To me, “Love, time to take it easy.”

I rolled my eyes as the male hunters retreated. I heard a loud slap from the hallways as Uncle Colin was tearing Uncle Clay a new one. “Man, you’re about to tell Malachi that he looks fat!” he hissed. “Do you not remember the incidents with Carson?! By the time his hormones hit, we’ll be in for it double!”

I sighed heavily as my mates led me back to bed. I had a feeling that they weren’t going to let me out of their sight for a good while...

And I was right on the money.

All thirteen mates declared that I was to be in “arms’ length of one of them when the other wasn’t around. And boy, they were that serious! It was even worse when it was declared that they were moving in and taking residence in their separate bedrooms and when they decided to extend the rule to add my Alpha brothers so they can keep a close eye on me.

When I wasn’t resting, I was constantly being one or all of their bedmates. And sometimes, a trip to our designated love nest was often needed to “relieve some sensual tension.” And I dare not deny it when I say that they still had me as their love slave.

As far as my brothers are concerned, they made sure to add me to their plans with their respective mates: a picnic with Taylor, Terrell, and Destiny; trips to the Denver Nuggets basketball games with the demon twins, Alyssa, and Addison; dinners with Gabe, Mike, and the Booker Twins; and so on. And even my fathers wanted me by their sides for visits to various packs and covens.

Never let it be said that my family and mates weren’t as true to their word when it came to my well-being. But I needed to show them I wasn’t as delicate as I thought.

And that was when I met the Sigma Chi Organization of Lunas. And it was also when having thirteen Alpha soulmates and lots of Alpha fathers and brothers became a blessing.

***************

“It’s a pleasure to meet all of you,” I said after being introduced by the organization’s president Francesca. “I never expected to learn that there are legions of Lunas that know all about my dad’s story and mine.”

“Well, Your Grace, there’s a lot of benefits when it comes to being a Luna,” the coffee-skinned Luna told me eagerly as I accepted a cup of cocoa from a nearby maid. “And right now, you need some company after being surrounded by clingy Alphas. Trust me, you’re not alone when it comes to being recalibrated after a life-threatening situation and your mates won’t let you out of their sight.”

Everyone murmured and nodded in assent, the feeling being mutual.

“And after all of the events from the kidnapping and almost being married off to Ryker the Reckless,” said Draven, a lithe and delicate siren from Miami, “we decided that you need some people to show your mates that you can stand your ground.”

“How’s that?” I asked.

A tall and model-esque Luna (a were-cheetah from Kenya) grinned widely. “My child, you have an ace in the hole,” she said in a musical African accent. “Or rather, four aces that you’re carrying right now.”

My eyes went wide. “My unborn sons,” I deduced.

“Exactly,” replied Serena Valzuz (the were-hawk) in her Ukrainian accent. “Comrade, with you soon to give birth- and before or after the wedding, no less- you can make the men in your life kneel before you. And even after that, you can make sure that they treat you like a warrior monarch. Even more so, given your future as the Sun God Wolf. You already did that with the naysayers and those who tried to take your mates from you.”

Francesca nodded. “When you showed them your powers, everyone felt the compulsion to bow to you,” she added. “I know my husband and I did when we saw you on TV back home.”

I nodded, slowly to get the message. “So, how do we do this?” I asked.

Draven grinned. “The wedding plans,” he chirped, snapping his fingers as a masculine and powerful Hispanic man came into the room with loads of wedding magazines and viewbooks on hand. “Thank you, Babe. Make sure to be on standby. I’ll need to relieve some stress later.”

“Sure, love,” commented the older guy before kissing Draven’s hand.

My mouth dropped low as the Alpha humbly walked out of the room as if he was possessed by a meek Omega. “Damn,” I breathed.

Draven smirked. “Hector knows that we’ve been planning with your friends to host the wedding that can blow your dad’s out of the water- or at least come close,” he replied. “And he knows that we’re not to be disturbed.”

The conference room doors swung open to reveal the Queens of the Supernatural, Cunningham, and my friends coming in with boxes of pizza for lunch (with Oliver carrying most of the food). “Ready to roll, bitches?” crooned Divinity. To me, “We’ve covered most of the bulk with Sigma Chi, so this is mainly a review of what we all envisioned.”

I nodded. “Let’s get down to business,” I said.
