Chapter 7 - Tempted
Jimon floundered down the hall after noticing he had been left alone. The three friends managed to drink themselves silly and had stumbled to their rooms with amorous eyes. Jimon wasn’t sure if he should search for them since they were so tempted to look into Sugi’s eyes and they had imparted to him how tragic that simple act could be.
He let out a deep sigh deciding to give them their space not wanting to witness their lovemaking. He shook his head to clear the disturbing thoughts from his mind subsequently making his head ache. Jimon could hold his ale, so he couldn’t understand why he felt so tipsy after only a few rounds of the strange liquor he had been offered. He rubbed his aching temples, thoughts of his new acquaintances making him more and more confused. He could not fathom why these people that were blessed with a charmed life got themselves into so much trouble. At least in comparison to his own life, having tragically lost his family at a young age and having to find work on a ship at the tender age of 10.
Is it possible he could fit in here? He didn’t think so. This was just a whim on his host’s part and soon he would be discarded when something else caught his attention. Right now Sugi’s attention was on that girl’s pretty face and the way her hands taunted him slipping under his shirt. It seemed to him that no matter where you're from, people were basically the same, giving way to their baser instincts when under the influence of drink.
He paused in his walk, seemingly lost in the long hallway which was nearly dark by the time he left the comfort of the fire. His altered state making it hard to remember where his room was. He opened a door thinking it was the right one finding Sugi standing there dressed only in his pants and a haunting smile as he bade him enter.
“Oh! Excuse me. I thought this was my room,” Jimon stammered.
Sugi approached him making him jerk back. “It is. I’ve been waiting for you,” the pretty prince hummed.
Jimon’s eyes got big. “Oh!” Is it me he wants? He asked himself.
Sugi laughed at his discomfort. His slightly pink cheeks and glint of interest in his eyes were so adorable. “Don’t worry. I’m not here to force myself on you. I would never do that. I just wanted to speak to you privately.”
He took off his mask focusing his beautiful eyes on Jimon. The excitement of being able to do so mingled with the lingering fear that he might hurt Jimon left him breathless. He continued to stare at Jimon as the younger man returned his gaze with parted lips as if he was inviting him to kiss his plump lips. Sugi looked down at them as he licked his own. The attraction was there but he didn’t want to give in to it too soon.
“Come closer,” he barely whispered, “I want to see you better.”
Jimon pov:
I stood there focusing on his chin and trying to ignore the pounding in my heart. I closed my eyes waiting for the feeling of ecstasy when our lips would touch, but Sugi wasn’t as bold as I thought.
“I wanted to get to know you better but my friends interrupted us. I’m sorry,” Sugi explained.
“It’s okay,” Jimon answered releasing his held breath. “They really missed you.”
“Yes,” he said smiling. “I promise to make time for you tomorrow.” His pale hands combed through his violet hair making me focus on something other than his perfect lips. The promise of spending more time with him making me so happy.
“Why are you being so kind to me?”
Sugi stood in the doorway, his expression surprised.
“Your mere existence makes me happy. Sleep well, Jimon.”
I couldn’t help smiling brightly at him. He gave me a gentle smile in return turning my insides to mush. A moment later, he opened the door and left.
I turned towards the bed and suddenly wished Sugi had not gone.
