Chapter Epilogue
Hannah
A couple of months later...
I dodge the attack coming at me and quickly retaliate by pitching an energy ball at the Shade demon I’m fighting. He avoids that, sends me back into the wall behind me, and uses shadows to try to pin me to the brick.
I manage to teleport out of that and immediately start gathering my energy. Chanting quickly, I recite the Light of Nihility spell.
A sphere of bright light appears between me and the Shade demon. As I continue to chant, the light grows brighter and brighter with every repetition. I shield my eyes and keep reciting.
Finally, the light explodes out toward the Shade demon. It consumes him before blinking out and leaving the alley dark once more. Lowering my arm, I open my eyes and stare at where the demon just was. After a moment, I start out of the alley, returning to the street to continue my hunt.
I started hunting demons a couple of months ago. Shortly after Lucy and I agreed we wouldn’t hunt demons anymore.
I feel bad I couldn’t keep to our agreement, but I have to be out here.
Someone’s got to kill these assholes.
