Chapter 137
BLAKE
I glanced back at my father, who was staring at me.
“Father, I will leave soon, but I’m leaving Dale and Izzy in charge,” I say. My father’s eyes grow wide. “Blake, you can’t do this. I’m still the alpha of this pack.”
I stared at him, but Axel was up on all fours in my head; I let out a loud growl.
My father closes his mouth and stares at me with wide eyes. “You might be alpha, but I’m taking over as soon as possible,” I say to him. “I’m going to Drakes, but you have a job here. You are to find out which pack members are missing. I want a list of them and everything there is about them. They didn’t deserve any of this.”
“You blame me,” he says, anger sweeping his face.
I growl. “I blame you for letting an elder take charge of our pack, and I blame you for everything that happened with Graham. He should never have had to give up his first mate, whether or not Linda was his second mate. There should have been put in place; what if a pack member has two mates in the future? Will an elder do the same again? We need to be prepared, and I must admit, I see nothing wrong with having two mates; the moon goddess has her ways and means about it all.”
I stare at him, letting him think about everything I just said.
“Izzy will be here; I will go alone,” I say. I could feel Axel tense at the statement, but he said nothing. “And trust me, father, she will hurt you when she finds out about this.”
My father’s eyes grew wide. “She won’t,” but I shook my head at him. “She might not have her powers, but you don’t know what Puna and Izzy are capable of,” I say.
My father stares at me. I know I confirmed what he was thinking about Izzy. While waiting for Lena to take Allie’s powers away, Izzy considered keeping hers. If he underestimates Izzy, he will be shocked if he ever crosses her. I must admit, I would love to be in the room when he does.
I glanced towards Dale, who had been quiet this whole time.
“Dale, I will leave you in charge with Izzy till I come back,” I say to him. “Make sure every pack member has training today, and also make sure you keep Izzy and Allie safe.”
Dale nods but stares at me. “Why not take Izzy with you?” he asks.
I know I should, but something tells me The Red Moon pack needs someone who will be firm but fair. Besides, Izzy is to be Luna. She should learn to take care of the pack while I am gone, even though I would have her with me mostly in the future.
I look back at Dale. “I think Izzy needs to know what it is like to be Luna of this pack. You will be in charge, but Izzy will have the final say if you need to complete anything. As for my mother, she can't help but let her know what has happened,” I said as I glanced at my father, who stared at me. “I guess mum doesn’t know.”
My father stares at me, saying nothing, but his face says everything.
My mother doesn’t know.
Axel looks at him and smirks, “mama wolf will have his arse,” he says mockingly. I can’t help but smirk at what he said.
I stared at Dale and my father. My father’s reign is ending, and I have to step up to be the better alpha he never was.
I stand up from the chair and look at my father. “Father, I know you had no option in some things that happened to this pack, but now I need to do what is right for the pack. But first, I need to help Drake and he's family. He doesn’t deserve this, and his pack doesn’t deserve this either. They need help; I suggest they come to the Alpha and Luna ceremony for Izzy and me. They may find comfort in that their neighboring pack will stand with them. But also, by the time we get to the ceremony, other shifters will be welcomed here within the pack.”
My father stares at me for a few moments and nods. “Blake, I think you will make a true alpha, and how you are stepping up now shows it. I will take a step back and deal with all the wrongs I have done to our pack and make sure nothing will harm or hurt our pack again.”
My father glances at Dale and smiles, “your father would be so proud of you for taking the Beta role with ease. I will let you and Izzy be in charge,” he says. But his face goes white at something. “Now I have to tell your mother, and I know she will rip me a new arsehole. She knew every pack member here; she will be crushed to learn what has happened to some of them.”
My father gets up from the chair and moves to the door to open it, but he stops to look at me. “Bring back our dead; they need to rest in their home,” he says.
I nod, and my father leaves.
Dale walks over to me and stares at the door, “you know your mum will kill him, right?” he says.
I smirk, “I know.” I turn to him, “you going to be okay to run the pack with Izzy,” I say. “I will be gone for one day, possibly two at the latest.”
Dale smiles, “I think you underestimate Izzy and me, but we got this,” he says. “You need to find your mate and tell her,” he says, smirking.
I nod.
We both left the office while Dale went to get some food. I went in search of Izzy. I had no clue how she would react to being left in charge of the pack with the help of Dale. It was only for one day, only two.
I walked around the pack house searching for Izzy, but I looked out of a window I was passing by and spotted her. She was with Kacey, Charley, and Allie.
My heart melts at the sight of my girls. I could feel Axel push forward and look through my eyes. “They are ours,” he said.
I nod.
“I think we should claim Allie as ours,” he blurts. “We know she is ours, but we should give her a fighting chance to be Alpha of the pack.”
I stare back at him, slightly confused. “You would let Allie take over the pack,” I say. “I mean, what if we have a son or daughter?”
Axel looks at me and frowns. “You can be such an idiot,” he says. “She is ours; she never knew who her true father was. She never will, and we took that role as soon as she met us. She has melted into our hearts as if she were our own. That will be great if we have pups with mate, but we have a long wait until they can take over from us. I want Allie to try, and if she doesn’t, we can have our pups do it.”
I stare back at my wolf, but I can’t help but smirk. “You have become wise with age, big softie,” I say.
He glares back at me. “I’m no softie,” he says, looking through my eyes and staring at Allie and Izzy. “But I am when it comes to those gorgeous ladies,” he says.
I smirk.
“Let’s see our family,” I say. He nods and smiles his wolfish grin. “Yes, please,” he says as his tail wags fast.
I make my way to go outside and walk out of the pack house, heading straight to them.
