The Sage of Masterminds ( Mr. Pierce )

Chapter 3

Chapter 3 Your Physiognomy Doesn’t Look Good and Needs to Be Resolved

Despite witnessing it with his eyes, he still could not believe in metaphysics. He immediately thought that there was a magnet inside. Just a little trick. Linda knew her grandson did not truly believe it from the bottom of his heart when she saw his cold and disdainful expression. However, it did not matter. He would understand everything when the time came. “Christine, don’t take Sidney’s words to heart. He’s someone who speaks harshly but has a soft heart. I understand. You’ve just arrived at Pierce Residence, and it is difficult to adjust when I suddenly bring up the arranged marriage. That’s why I’m not rushing to have you two married. You should settle down first, develop feelings with Sidney, and we can talk about marriage later.” She gently patted Christine’s delicate hand, her smile warm and comforting. “Grandma—” Sidney had just uttered two words when he was abruptly interrupted by a warning tone. “You shut up!” Linda’s expression changed from amiable to unpleasant. “Christine just arrived. You’re not allowed to bully her! I don’t care how old you are, but I’ll still spank you if I find out you treat her even slightly poorly!” Christine could not help but chuckle, immediately drawing a deadly gaze from him. He tilted his proud face, his gaze fixed on the innocent eyes of the lady, with a dangerous glint in his deep eyes. “Don’t look at her like that. You’re scaring her.” Linda tapped Sidney’s long and straight leg with her cane, not causing pain but instantly deflating his demeanor. “Grandma, I’m your grandson!” She had a look of indifference on her face. “You are my grandson, but Christine is even closer to me than you. Both the Pierce Family and you owe her…” Before she finished her sentence, she realized she had said something she should not have and abruptly stopped. Christine’s little face tightened slightly. What does this man owe me? Is it money? Sidney’s eyebrows furrowed as well. What do I owe this woman? However, Linda suddenly appeared tired and weak, waving her hand adorned with jade. “Oh well, forget it. I’ve wasted so many words arguing with you. It’s making my head spin. You show her around in the Pierce Residence and arrange a room for her. I need to rest now.” “Let’s go,” he coldly uttered two words. However, he had no intention to wait for Christine. He lifted his long legs and walked briskly toward the exit. She did not mind and politely smiled at Linda before leaving. As soon as they stepped out of the room, he stopped and looked at her with cold eyes. “I don’t have time to tour you around. Someone else will be assigned to familiarize you with this place, and you shouldn’t take advantage of Grandma’s favoritism toward you and become arrogant.” Christine leaned against the wall, a gentle smile adorning her exquisite fair face. “Mr. Pierce, you have such a sharp tongue. Why didn’t you show it off in front of your grandma?” Sidney’s angry gaze locked onto her swiftly moving cherry lips, unintentionally darkening his expression. Ryan, standing nearby, could not bear to see him glaring at the young lady with such an intimidating look. Summoning up his courage, he approached. “Mr. Pierce, Madam Pierce just instructed you to treat Miss Morgan well. Now that Madam Pierce’s health isn’t good, it’s better not to irritate her. Besides, Miss Morgan is new here. It won’t affect you by showing her around.” Sidney gave him a disdainful glance. “Well said. You’ll handle the company’s affairs, then?” Ryan awkwardly shrunk his neck, realizing Sidney was angry, and immediately dared not say anything. Christine could not help but look a few more times at the man who spoke up for her and then raised an eyebrow. “Ryan, your physiognomy doesn’t look good. There are signs of financial loss recently. Pay more attention.” Ryan did not believe in fortune-telling. He shrugged and smiled. “Miss Morgan, I just received a project bonus a few days ago. Please don’t jinx me.” She sighed and continued, “I do good deeds daily and can’t jinx anyone. I’m just sincerely reminding you that your luck will be low for some time. I wanted to give you a kind reminder. On your forehead, there’s a pimple in the center. There’s also scrapped skin on the right side of your eyebrow, close to the hairline. It’s a sign of imminent financial loss.” At that, Ryan instinctively touched his forehead. Indeed, there was a pimple caused by overindulging in spicy barbeque. At the brow bone, he had scrapped skin from a mosquito bite. He muttered in his mind, wondering if what she said was true. “But you don’t need to worry. This can be resolved easily. Our meeting is a sign of fate…” She took a lucky charm from her small bag, not forgetting to use her professional rhetoric. “I have a lucky charm here. Wear it for three days, and it will eliminate bad luck. I’ll cut you a deal, selling one for 70.” A faint smile crept on her lips when she held the lucky charm with two delicate white fingertips. “Sorry, Miss Morgan. I think my luck has been pretty good lately, so I don’t need it for now.” Ryan looked at the lucky charm and pursed his lips. If I buy it, that will be a waste of money! A mocking glint flashed in Sidney’s cold eyes, and a hint of disgust hid deep within his dark pupils. “So, this is the sales pitch?” He sneered. “This is the Pierce Residence, not a church! Since you’ve come to the Pierce Residence, your needs for food, clothing, and shelter will not be lacking. It’s best to put away your cheap tricks that have no credibility!” After saying that, he lost all patience and walked away in strides. Christine was not frightened and calmly put away her lucky charm. “If you don’t need it, forget about it.” Although Ryan did not believe in it, he still had some politeness in him. He nodded slightly to her before catching up with Sidney. Watching them leave, she sighed in her heart. Back in Xandoria, she was regarded as a fortune teller who commanded a high price. However, she was mistaken for a scammer here.
