Chapter 239
Judson narrowed his eyes suspiciously. Was Lenard about to defend Cyrus?
But before Judson could even finish his thought, Lenard cut in sharply, "Cyrus is a total creep. I wouldn't be surprised if he can't wait to get Lucy alone and makes a move on her right there in the restaurant booth. Forget about making it to the hotel."
Lenard chuckled mischievously at his own joke.
Nancy rolled her eyes, "Come on, whether Cyrus and Lucy hook up or not is none of our business." Although she now felt indifferent towards Cyrus, she doubted he would be that impatient. Still, you can never be sure, especially when Cyrus is around Hayley...
Judson nodded in agreement, "Right, Cyrus isn't our problem. Next time, don't bother calling us about this stuff."
Lenard laughed in disbelief, "Judson, you're just like Nancy's lapdog."
Judson shot back, "You wish you could be, but I won't let that happen."
Lenard chuckled again, clearly wanting to say more but changing the subject, "Hey Nancy, Lucy just handed her phone to Cyrus. What's up with that?"
Nancy quickly put two and two together, "Baldrick's dirt."
Judson raised an eyebrow thoughtfully, trying to piece things together.
"Baldrick's dirt? Wait, you mean from The Sandro Group? Of course, they've got something on the Allen family."
Lenard urged, "Nancy, you should contact Baldrick. I don't have his number."
Without hesitation, Nancy said, "I'll call him."
Baldrick had helped her before, and she owed him this much.
Inside the private dining room.
"Mr. Gordon, this is all the dirt on The Sandro Group, or rather, this is all The Allen Group has," Lucy said,
looking exhausted and defeated net
She was a far cry from her former arrogant self, anyone could see she was desperate and scared.
Cyrus flipped through the files on the phone, his expression dark and thoughtful. After reaching the last file, he handed the phone back to Lucy.
"Send it to me, and I'll ensure you can stay in the country. This card is an unlimited supplementary card of mine," Cyrus said, placing a bank card on the table.
Lucy's eyes lit up with a glimmer of hope. She knew Evergreen Global and the Hernandez family were both after her. And with her reputation in tatters, she couldn't walk down the street without risking being pelted with rotten tomatoes.
"Mr. Gordon, I'm willing to leave, but can you do me one more favor?"
Cyrus raised an eyebrow, "As long as it's not too complicated."
"Help me erase this identity and start anew," Lucy said with a bitter smile. "I want a fresh start."
Her current identity was a liability; 'Lucy' had to be completely erased.
Cyrus gazed at her resolute expression, a memory of Nancy's own decision to erase her identity flashed in his mind.
He asked instinctively, "Will you regret erasing your identity?"
Lucy shook her head, serious and unwavering, "No, I won't."
So, Nancy wouldn't regret erasing her identity either?
Nancy leaving him must have been genuine. Did Nancy really not love him anymore?
was
No, he couldn't accept that. He knew Nancy well enough to believe that once she loved someone, it was for life. It was just Judson clouding her judgment. Once he brought Nancy back to Sunhaven, she'd fall for him all over again.
