The Reckoning of Love Chapter 9

Chapter 9 As Edmond Wished

Celeste could only resign to fate and grabbed a blanket for Edmond before retreating into the master bedroom. As the door closed, Edmond beamed with satisfaction, confident about what would happen soon. The master bedroom was large, spacious, and luxurious. The furnishings were simple yet exquisite, and a large, soft double bed stood out as the most dazzling feature. The sound of running water came from the bathroom when Celeste entered, and through the frosted window, she could vaguely see the outline of Julian’s well-built body. Suddenly, a wave of heat surged within her, and she rubbed her forehead in response. Her face flushed inexplicably, for the unprecedented feeling made her very uneasy. Julian, too, noticed the abnormality inside the bathroom, and he locked his brows into a tight furrow while a hint of animosity flashed across his eyes. A strong sense of conquest enveloped him as if it wanted to devour him. At that, he quickly turned off the hot water, but even drenching himself with cold water was of no use. This feeling surged toward him like a raging tide, becoming stronger and stronger. His youthful body was on the verge of exploding! He was certain something was off with that glass of milk—his grandfather had drugged him. Back in the bedroom, Celeste wasn’t doing any better either. Julian struggled in the bathroom for some time, and his sanity was on the verge of collapsing at this point. The drug was too strong, and he couldn’t relieve the heat on his own. With that, he opened the bathroom door and immediately found a similarly restless and feverish young woman lying in his bed. She looked like a blossoming lily with her soft, shiny black hair scattered messily. To him, she carried a fatal temptation at this moment. For the first time, he lost control and lay on top of her, saying, “You have an unshakable responsibility toward Grandpa’s stayover tonight, girl. You should bear the consequences yourself.” A scorching breath descended upon her, leaving Celeste with a dry mouth and a pounding heart as if it would leap out of her chest. Gradually, her consciousness faded away as his fervent kisses landed on her cheeks, lips, and neck. Meanwhile, the lights in the living room were still on, and the elder lying on the couch continued to stare at the closed bedroom door. He vowed to break the leg of whoever dared come out. As long as these two remained in the same space, they would have to help each other put out the burning fire inside them! The medicine he got from Dr. Ayde wasn’t just good—it was excellent. The newlywed couple indulged in it three times that night. The following morning, Celeste found Julian getting dressed in front of the bed when she woke up, and she had to admit that his muscular body, without a trace of excess fat, could really give the world’s top models a run for their money. She gawked at him just like that, having forgotten about her sore body. As he fastened the last cufflink and picked up the precious watch from the bedside cabinet, he caught a glimpse of his wife waking up. However, he never spared her a glance. By the time he walked out of the bedroom, Celeste had come around and gotten out of bed as well. Seeing the blooming crimson stain on the sheets, she felt a little melancholy and a bit disappointed. After all, she gave away her virginity to him just like that. Edmond was long gone at this point as if his mission was accomplished, and the blanket had been returned to the guest bedroom. With only the newlyweds remaining in the house, the atmosphere turned a little suppressive. “Grandpa gave me a gift in your name, but I know it wasn’t your intention.” Celeste went to Julian with the bag, starting the morning conversation. “I bet it’s quite valuable. I haven’t opened it. Here, I’m returning it to you.” Julian glanced at the bag she handed him, then shifted his gaze to her instead of taking it. As such, she placed it on the display rack aside. “I’ll go make you breakfast,” she said, turning into the kitchen. Julian knew how valuable the present was just by looking at the bag. It was the Meisters’ family heirloom. How very generous of you, Grandpa. Following that, he spaced out, surprised that the young woman was so chaste. She was a virgin until last night. In today’s society, it was almost an impossible thing to find. Very quickly, Celeste came out with a scrumptious breakfast. “Breakfast is ready.” She dared not recall the night before, nor did she dare look into his eyes. “Give me your phone,” Julian demanded with his hand extended toward her as he sat down at the dining table. “What for?” Celeste was taken aback. She fell into his profound gaze as she handed him her phone quizzically.
