The Reborn

Chapter Just do it

I thought that everyone would look at me like I’m a bitch because I just punched in the face the Queen bee, but I was very surprised when I heard cheering and clapping. Some of them were chanting ‘Cat fight’.

Unfortunately, Iron ruined my dreams of beating the shit out of her when he started to drag me out of the cafeteria. People were still cheering and sending me thumbs up except some guys that were at a table in the centre of the room. One of them was glaring at me (maybe she is his bitch or something) and the other one stared at me before he jumped on his feet pointing at me.

“You, girl rock! Now you are my favorite person.”

I chuckled and I wanted to ask what his name is, but Iron already left the cafeteria with me behind him.

“I can’t believe that you punched her.” he muttered angrily and I rolled my eyes even if he can’t see me.

“The bitch started and I finished it. Simply as a jelly. And I wanted to beat her more, but you like to ruin my fun. First with the penguins and now with the bitch! It’s not fair! I have to entertain myself with something. And-”

“SHUT UP. Please. And it’s not normal to feel entertain when you beat someone. I’ll tell Windy about this and she will talk with you right now.”

When I heard where he wants to take me, I digged my heels in the ground. “No. I refuse. I don’t want to see her and I’m sure that she has other people to see and hung with. Or maybe she took a day off. And I’m hungry. Let’s go back at the cafeteria.”

He stopped in front of a door. Windy’s office door to be more exact. “We are already here.”

“Noo. Come on. I’m....I’m....Is it now to late to say sorry?” I gave him a sheepish smile and fluttered my eyelashes at him.

He glared at me and opened the door. “Yes. Yes, it is. Fuck. Sorry. Sorry. We will be here when.....aaa...we will be here.”

I looked from under his arm and I saw Windy on the desk with a big guy on top of her. Thankfully, their clothes were on.

Iron closed the door immediately and his face was flushed. He looks cute with that blush.

“Aww. Look at little Iron. He’s blushing. How sweet.” I cooed pinching his left cheek.

He grumbled something and slapped my hand. “Shut up, Shadow.”

An also flushed Windy opened the door and smiled a little. “I’m sorry that you had to see that guys. You can come in now.”

“You sure? You can finish your hot session and we can come back later.” I said smirking and yelp when Iron smacked my head.

Windy blushed even more if it’s possible and Iron pushed past her and he dragged me with him.

“I suggest you to shut up, Shadow. You are already in big trouble.”

I scowled. “It’s not my fault. She started it and you saw it too!! Her face was screaming ’Punch me. Make me look better!’. And you know that I’m short tempered.”

He pushed me on a pink leather seat, across from Windy’s pink one. “And that’s why you’re here. So sit and be nice. At last try.” he added the last part when I gave him the you-are-talking-about-me look.

“I can’t tell her anything because I’m too hungry.”

Iron placed an apple in front of me. “Eat and start talking.”

My nose scrunched up. “I’m not a horse. I don’t eat apples. Only green ones.” I crossed my arms stubbornly.

For the first time since I came here, I saw Iron red faced in anger. Maybe I exaggerated this time.

Windy ushered Iron out of her office before he could strangle me. “Get out and let me talk with her. I’ll call you when we finish.”

Then, she turned to me and crossed her arms. “What did you do, now?”

I raised my eyebrows at her. “Now? It’s the first time I did something since I came here” or at last the first time she finds out “and I’m not saying anything until he leaves.” I pointed my finger at the guy from the seat next to me.

He looked kind of comical. He’s dressed all in black and he is pretty tall, so just imagine a big guy on a pink leather seat. He has black hair and jade green eyes.

The guy looked at me with a blank face. “I’m not going anywhere. It was my hour with my girlfriend and you interrupted it.”

Hmmm. He looks kind of familiar. I stared at him a little before I remembered. “You are the loser I beat in the last round at the exam! Hey! You are the moron that fucking banged my head on the floor.”

He shrugged. “That was my job back then.”

Windy cleared her throat and broke mine and his little blink contest. “I assure you that he won’t tell a single thing from what he will hear in the office. Now, tell me what happened.”

I shrugged and placed a foot under me. “I may or may not, punched a bitch square in the face, but I swear that she provoked me!”

“What she told you?”

I scratched my head trying to remember. “She called me a psychopath and a staff member, and I kind of lost it.....in front of the whole cafeteria.....and I don’t regret it.”

Windy sighed and rubbed her face. “At last we are making progress here. It’s the first time when you told me about something that I asked you about.”

I shrugged once again. “Don’t get used to it.”

“I kind of want to get used to you talking because that’s the whole point of this thing, Shadow.”

“You’re forgetting that I never wanted this thing. I only want to be normal again.” What I wanted to say was that I want the voice to stop forever. Now I’m not hearing it anymore, but that’s only because Doc injects me Dark poison and it numbs my Dark side.

“But you have to go through this stage first. Doctor’s advice.” she said with a smile like she won this argument and she actually did, but I like arguing.

“Doc Snow sucks and he’s nuts. I won’t talk because I don’t like it.”

“You don’t like or you don’t want to?” she asked and rested her head on her hands.

“Same thing.”

She sighed again. “See what I was telling you honey? She does this every single time she comes here. She won’t talk no matter what I do or say.”

“She’s stubborn as fuck or maybe she really doesn’t like talking. Or more exactly she doesn’t like talking about what happened. About what made her this way. Babe, you have to understand that it’s not easy to talk about something that marked you for life. You have to be patient.”

They are talking like I’m not standing right next to them. “First, I’m right fucking here and I can fucking hear you! And second, he’s right. If I’ll talk about it, I’ll snap and I don’t want that.”

She smiled a little and ruffled my hair even if she knows that I hate it. “I’m sorry, but it’s just frustrating that you keep saying ‘No’. Usually, I finish with every kid in less than a week.”

I puffed my chest. “I’m a special one.”

“And the most craziest. Nobody punched anyone from the first year since they came here. But you did it in the first 2 weeks.” the guy who’s name I still don’t know said.

“Honey, you actually did punched someone in your first year here.” Windy giggled.

“Yeah, but it was after I got better and I was taking my treatment. She isn’t.”

Again, talking about me. It makes me feel so important.

He turns to me with a serious look. “You really need to talk about what happened even if it makes you snap because that’s exactly what you need. When you snap, all your dark emotions fly out and that’s the perfect moment to deal with your other side.”

I nodded my head thinking. He may be right, but it’s easier to say it than actually do it. I don’t want to tell them everything. It hurts to remember everything and it’s impossible for me to talk about it.

Maybe I can do something else.

After the I’m invisible in the shadows fiasco, I went to the library and searched some information about hybrids. There were few information about us, but I found some interesting things. The definition was there and the hybrids are also called ‘changers’ because if they can make the both side of them to live together, they can switch from Elementar to Dark and from Dark to Elementar. The thing I did with the guards was a trick with the help of my dark side and it looks like it’s triggered when I’m scared or in danger. Or both. Another perk of being a changer is that our power is multiplied. I’m telepathic like Lincoln and I tried to do another things with my mind. If I concentrate really hard, I get a glint of what a person thinks and I made a cip to float above the ground but only with a few inches.

Maybe I can send that memory into their heads like I do with my words? I think it’s worth a shoot.

“Give me your hands.”

The physical contact makes the effect stronger and it’s more effective.

They were looking at me with questioning eyes. I rolled my eyes and opened my palms.

“Like Nike says: Just do it. I want to try something.”

After sharing a look they placed one hand in mines. I stayed like that for a minute, but it didn’t felt right. As a second instinct, I placed my index fingers on their temples and closed my eyes starting to recall the memories.

I started with the very first: the biology trip. Next was waking up with Hazel and Ash, the test, training, the exam, Team Alpha, our missions, my memory loss, the night my memories came back, the killing, me freaking out and trying to resolve the problem, when I killed the agents from the conference room, waking up in the cell, talking with Raven, my last trip home and finally, the moment I meet Iron and came here.

Along with the memories, the feelings come back exactly like the last time, but this time it was worst. More powerful and it felt like the feeling left me in waves, like they float in my veins.

When I finished, I was hysterically crying and when I opened my eyes, the lights were out, the window behind Windy was shattered and objects were flying through the air.

Hello, hello. Did you missed me? It’s time to finish this bullshit.

In a blur I saw the guy standing up muttering something and hitting me right between my eyes with his glowing index. My eyes closed and my body went numb.

I looked around and I see that I’m in a room with black walls and white ceiling and floor. The room was empty except the sofa which was placed in the center of the room and someone was standing on it.

“Finally, we meet.” the person said and in a flash had me pinned to the wall with her hands around my neck.

She was looking like me, just a little different. Her hair was black like her eyes, her skin a sick white and she had a large grin of her face. She is dressed all in black while I’m all in white.

“H-hi. You must be the famous voice.”

She kept grinning. “Yes, and my name is not ‘the voice’. My name is Bolt.” she grip around my neck thighs.

I was trying to prey her hands off, but she was stronger. “I-I’m Shadow. A-and you know w-why I’m here.”

She tiled her head to a side. “Of course I know. I know everything. You want to get rid of me. You want to kill me, but I won’t let you. I will kill you first.”

I could tell that she wanted to snap my neck, but I stick my fingers in her eyes and she dropped me. I ran to the other side of the room and raised my hands.

"That’s not true. Well, I wanted at first, but then I had a better idea.”

She started to walk slowly in my direction. “Start talking before I kill you.”

I rolled my eyes. “You can’t kill me. If you kill me you die. If I die you die too, dump ass.”

“I still don’t see a reason to keep you alive.” she was getting closer and closer with a feral look on her face.

“You want to kill me so you can take over my body. You want power, right?”

She stopped walking a foot in front of me. ”That’s correct.” she looks suddenly curious about what I have to say.

"Let’s make a deal. You let me live and I’ll help you to have power.”

“How will you do that?” She asked with a scowl.

“Think about it. If we both live, we will have the power of an Elementar and the power of a Dark. We can switch between them when we want and when it’s necessary. You can let me deal with people and bullshit and I’ll let you free on the battlefield so you can kill every enemy we have. But, only if you leave me alone. No more harassing me, no more names and no more taking over. Let me train our body so you can have the best performance on the field.”

She had a blank face on and walked in front of me, before her face broke into another feral grin. “I like the part when I can kill out enemies. I’ll take your deal, but do you realise that we will have so much power and it’s hard to control it.”

This time I smiled at her and wrapped one arm around her shoulders. “Come on, Bolt. We are talking about us here. I can’t do it. You can’t do it. But we can. We, together. We can fucking do it.”

She grinned at me, but this time this grin was a natural one almost a happy one. “Your right. We can do it and we will do it. Deal.”

Bolt raised her pinky finger and I wrapped mine around hers.

“Deal.”

Light started to shine from our connected pinkies and we were slammed into each other. The impact should of been painful, but it tingled as our two bodies melted into a single one.
