The Reborn

Chapter Abandon the mission

I looked at my cards. I have 2 Queens, 2 aces and 3 fours. “Do you have a 4?”

“Nope. Go fishing.” Leaf said smirking.

“Are you motherfucking kidding me?? I asked you for cards from the whole set of cards and you said ‘Go fishing’ each time! You’re cheating!” I glared at him and he looked offended.

“I would never do that. I’m a fair player. Do you have a queen?”

I kept glaring at him. “No. Go fishing.”

“Are you sure, Moonlight? You don’t have any queens?”

He knows me so well. I don’t like cheating at any game and he knows it.

I bit my lip and start tapping my foot. “Just go damn fishing and let’s finish this game! Do you have a queen?” I asked trying not to laugh.

He throws the cards in the table. “I just asked you about the queen!!”

I threw my cards too. “So what? You cheated the whole game, Earthquake! You are a cheater!!”

“Take it back, Moonlight! You don’t want to get on my bad side!” he shouted back and now we were on our feet glaring at each other.

“Bad side my a-” I couldn’t finish my phrase because the plane was suddenly going down and me and Leaf fell back on our seats.

“AAAAAH. THE PLANE IS CRASHING!!! WE ARE GOING TO DIE AND I DON’T WANT SHADOW’S UGLY FACE TO BE THE LAST THING I SEE.” Leaf yelled trying to put his seat belt.

“We aren’t crashing you idiots! We are landing and you would’ve know since the pilot announced the landing, but you were to busy fighting over a stupid game!” Iron yelled behind me as his knuckles were turning white from gripping the seat to tight.

He hates airplanes for some reason and he freaked out completely when we left the ground behind us.

I wrapped my cape around me and waited patiently to land. We are currently in H.I.D.E’s private plane landing in Snowfair. Outside is snowing and everything is covered in a pure white blanket. I sighed at the thought of red covering all the whiteness. I’m dressed in my fighting uniform which consists of a white slim shirt with a silver necklace with a lightning pendant, a pair of grey leather jeans, a gray leather jacket with the emblem of the rebellion and a cape with the same emblem.

Grey is our specific color because it means neutrality. It’s not white or black, it’s a combination of both.

I’m loaded with all types of guns from head to toes. I don’t like taking any risks. Better prevent than treat.

A few moments later (Sponge Bob voice)

“I can’t feel my butt.”

“We already know that Earthquake! I can’t feel my butt neither so shut up and walk! We are almost there.”

“I swear that if I lose my butt, I’m taking yours Moonlight.”

“Drama queen.” I mumbled as I stepped on Leaf’s footprints.

He stops in his track and I bumped into his back. “I heard that and we’re here. It looks like we are the first ones here.”

What? We are never the first ones anywhere.

I walked in front of everyone and looked around. All I could see was the tall and old museum in front of me, some little houses and a lot of snow. What makes me a little nervous is that it’s silence. Too silence.

Maybe we really are early. Or...

My eyes widen in realisation. “ABANDON THE MISSION. I REPEAT. ABANDON THE MISSION.” I screamed and waved my hands showing them to retreat, but it was too late.

We were surrounded by The White Eagles and The Black Thorns. These fuckers made us to fall right into their trap. I was stupid enough to fall into that trap.

“Hello, Bolt. We see each other again.”

Inside I was completely freaking out, but Aiden learnt me how to remain cool on the outside. “Unfortunately, yes.”

Spike and Charon were siting one next to each other, smirking in my face. This 2 are completely opposite and it’s almost comical. Spike has dark brown hair with dark blue eyes and pale skin, while Charon has light blond hair with light green eyes and tan skin. And let’s not talk about their personalities.

“Our little Bolt is in deep shit right now. We can kill you all with blinking twice.” Spike said and I continued his phrase.

“But...”

“But, we won’t do that if you come with us.”

They will kill me if I’ll go with them, but it’s my life for another 11 lifes. I don’t want to die, but I can’t let them die neither. I want to see some of them dead, but they won’t die under my command.

As I opened my mouth to agree, my whole team shielded me by stepping in front of me.

Iron clicked his tongue. “Can’t do that. She’s our leader and part of this team and it’s our job to protect her ass. You have to go through us before you get to her.”

My fingers curled around 2 guys from my waistband, ready for the following fight.

“Guys. We were ambushed. It’s a red code.” I whispered in the collar of my cape where the microphone was.

“Fuck. Try to stay alive. We will send backups.”

“Hurry up as much as you can.”

As I finished my sentence, gun fires were heard and the hell broke. I hide behind a car and shoot from behind it taking down a good amount of soldiers, but they are too many. Something was ticking from under the car and ran away exactly when the car exploded.

Bolt. I need your help. We are losing and the guns aren’t copping with the situation very well.

YASS. I’ve been waiting for a long time to kick some asses. Time for fun.

I blinked and my eyes turned black as Bolt took over. It’s weird to look at your own body moving without you commanding it to do anything.

Bolt sprinted through the mess of soldiers throwing lightnings everywhere and occasionally kicking some soldiers brave enough to jump on her.

Suddenly, Spike appeared in front of her and she smirked back at him.

“Long time no-”

“Shut the fuck up and let’s fight.” she growled and adrenaline was flying through her veins.

“Fine.”

He lunged at her and she simply docked and grabbed him by the hair and raised her knee to his head. He recovered fast and lunged again. This time she used her foot to kick his and send him in the nearby wall. He hit the wall with a loud crack and fell on the floor, but he was back on his feet in a second. He made a sphere of what looks like wind and water and throw it at Bolt. She dodged them by hitting them with a lightning which was strong enough to hit Spike too. It hit him on the right shoulder and he tumbled down wincing in pain. As she speed up to finish him, Charon sent a wall made of rock at her, hitting her on the back and pinning her on the floor. The air left her lungs and she tried to push the rock away, but it was futile. The pressure on her back was increasing as seconds were passing, until the rock disappeared.

She jumped back on her feet and saw Hazel fighting with Carson. Suddenly, something hit her back again and burned her skin. Spike took the opportunity and jumped on her starting to throw punches at her face. An Elementar must of hit here since it hurt this bad and she couldn’t heal. She throw her head in the front and hit Spike’s head making him stop the assault on her face. She punched him in the face with all her force and he flied back into his wall.

People dressed in gray started to appear and she sighed before she sent a lightning at Spike. He dodged at throw his weird sphere again. They kept going back and forth before a sharp pain hit her in the right side of her torso. She hissed and tried to shoot another lightning, but it didn’t work.

Fuck. The bullet is poisoned.

Bolt, you have to run the fuck out of there!

No. I have to finish them.

You idiotic shit! You can’t because our power is blocked by the poison! And if you die, I die too! RUN.

She gritted her teeth, jumped over a sphere and bolted through the woods as fast as she can.

Thank God, that we have woods here too. I don’t know how they survived in this climate, but I’m happy.

Blood was dripping down her right side and her eyes started to get blurred. This means that the effect of the poison is kicking in fast. Faster than the last time.

Her legs gave up and she falls into the white and cold blanket of snow. She has 2 bad injuries and no one was around.

“The feared Bolt is lying almost unconscious in the snow. Who would thought that I’ll have this beautiful sight in front of me?”

She looked up to see Spike pointing a gun at her. She tried to move or grab her gun too, but her body wasn’t responding to any commands. She could only feel the burning on her back and the blood dripping from her side.

“It was nice to play with you, but now it’s time to say goodnight. Bye, bye.”

She closed her eyes, waiting for the bullet to take her life away. The fire of the gun was heard, but she felt nothing. Hesitantly, she opened her eyes to see a guy dressed in grey, standing with a gun in his hand between her and a running Spike.

Do you know him?

I wanted to ask you the same thing.

The guy placed his gun back in its place and turned to look at Bolt. She couldn’t recognise him, nor I could.

I don’t know him, but I’m sure that he’s on our side and he is a dark. That’s all I know.

I figured that already genius.

Sorry for trying to help!

“You should be more careful.” he said with his deep voice sending chills down her back.

Yo. He has a weird voice.

*mental eyes roll* No shit. Stay focused you idiot!!

Why? He is on our side.

It doesn’t matter. We don’t know him so we can’t trust him.

....Fine.

She yelped in surprise and winced when he pulled her up on her feet.

“You are the stupidest person I’ve ever meet.” he mumbled as he placed her arm around his shoulders. “We have to go before someone finds us.”

She stared at his face as he started to walk. He is with a head taller than her and his muscles can’t go unnoticed. His eyes are 2 pure black orbs and his hair was matching his eyes. His tanned skin was partially hide behind his mask.

You see what a nice tan he has? I’m kind of jealous.

Me too. I can’t get that tan even if I stay in the sun for 5 hours straight.

“Why are you staring at me weirdly?” he asked and she shook her head.

“I’m trying to see your face, but it’s blurred.” she mumbled barely keeping her eyes open.

He shook her. “Hey. Switch back to your Elementar side. You will feel a little better and don’t you fucking dare to die on me.”

Shadow switch.

What? How the fuck I switch back??

I can’t explain you just do it.

HOW?

“She can’t switch back. She doesn’t know how and I can’t explain.” her voice was barely audible and I was freaking out.

He looked straight into her eyes and I felt like he could see me instead of Bolt. “Imagine yourself into your body. Imagine how you move your fingers, hands and arms.”

She closed her eyes as I closed mine and I imagined myself running through the forest.

I opened my eyes and the pain from my wounds hit me. A whimper escaped my lips and my legs buckled a little underneath me, but he had his hand secured around my waist not letting me down.

“Wow. Easy there.”

“Fuck. This shit hurts like hell.” I said breathlessly and placed a hand on my right side.

He looked at me with sympathy and a knowing look. “I know, but we are almost there.”

We started to walk again, well he walked and I was dandling in his hold. “Where? And who the fuck are you?”

“I came here with the private plane that dropped you off here and it’s not important. Stop talking. It’s tiring you out.”

“But I can’t trust you. You are a stranger.” I mumbled and my head was spinning. I can’t even feel my body. All I can feel was pain spreading in my body and veins. My head dropped on his shoulder as my legs gave up under me.

He cached me and picked me up bridal style. “Sometimes, a stranger is more trust worthy than someone you knew your entire life.”

He said it like it had a double meaning, but I couldn’t think about it since I blacked out.
