Chapter 89
Chapter 89
“May I call you Tay in the future?” Sabrina asked me, smiling sweetly.
She looked just like an innocent white rabbit.
Hadn’t Gordon told her to address me as Taylor? Why was she changing it? She was such a schemer.
Although I was berating her inwardly, I plastered on a smile and said, “Alright. You can call me whatever
you want.”
“You and Gordie seem to have such a close relationship. I’m so sorry for what happened just now. I didn’t expect you to be in Gordie’s office,” she said.
If she hadn’t mentioned it, I would have already forgotten, and now it made me feel very awkward.
1 smiled in embarrassment and said, “It’s alright. We’re already an old married couple. As husband and wife, it’s natural for us to be intimate. You must feel the same way when dating someone, right?”
“There were so many rumors about how the two of you didn’t get on. Now it seems that the media was simply making things up.”
I don’t know why Sabrina insisted on probing me about my relationship with Gordon.
What was she up to? Was she trying to extract some insider information from me?
“They’re the media. They had too much time on their hands, so they made it up. Things between a
husband and wife only need to be known by the two of them, don’t you think?”
I was pretending to be friendly while tirelessly emphasizing how great my relationship with Gordon was. I wanted her to give up on coveting him.
“Yes, Gordie is a kind person. You’re very blessed to have married him, Tay.”
Sabrina looked up at me with her fair, clean face. She looked envious.
If it weren’t for the fact that spoilers wererit allowed, I really wanted to tell her that she didn’t need to envy me. She would soon take my place and receive all my blessings.

I gave her a superficial smile. As I did not want to talk more on such a silly topic, I shut my mouth and left
the rest to her imagination.
The elevator finally reached the first floor. I had never found an elevator ride to be so agonizingly long.
I couldn’t help exhaling deeply as I walked out immediately. At that moment, Sabrina’s phone rang
I heard the sound of her picking up the call.
“What did you say, Nathan? You’re staying in Sobrough City, and you’re going to be a paralegal at Clark & Norman? Wow, is that true? Didn’t you say that you couldn’t find any law firms who wanted to accept you?”
It was a call from Nathan.
It seemed that Hector had done the favor I’d asked of him. Nathan would stay in Sobrough City and become a paralegal at Shane’s law firm, just as he wished.
I didn’t know what Nathan said on the other end of the phone, but I heard Sabrina raise her voice one
octave higher.
“Your dad has agreed to let you buy a house in Sobrough City? That’s great! Are we going to look at houses now? Then come to my flower shop to get me, and I’ll go with you!”
Sabrina sounded delighted.
She couldn’t even be bothered to say goodbye to me as she bounced past me while still on the phone. She ran quickly out of the Holmes Group building.
It seemed that Nathan hadn’t just found a job. He had also persuaded his father to allow him to buy a house in Sobrough City. This was excellent news to Sabrina, who had always wanted to settle down here.
She was a young woman who had just entered society, after all. It was obvious that her hope had been reignited with Nathan’s news, which had made her waver in her determination to break up with him.
I thought it was great. Now, I was one step closer to breaking her and Gordon up:
I suddenly felt inexplicably happy as I watched Sabrina skip and bounce away. I couldn’t help humming as
I walked over to my car.
I was about to drive away when Gordon suddenly called me.
“Have you left?”
That was the first thing he asked me after I picked up..
“I’m still downstairs. What’s the matter?”
“I’ve never taken you out to dinner before. Let’s go out for dinner tonight.”
Gordon suddenly invited me over the phone.
