The Reborn Wife Strikes Back ( Gordon Holmes’ )

Chapter 85

Chapter 85

“Guess what I got you?”

I waved the bag of food I was holding. When he saw that it was from Whispers on the Wind, he

Immediately understood.

He smiled slightly.

“You went to Whispers on the Wind?”

“Yeah. I remembered that you really enjoy eating their pumpkin purée and foie gras, so I brought some back, especially for you.”

I walked over and opened up the bag of food. I took out the food and placed them before him.

Gordon visibly perked up when he saw the food, and he relaxed slightly. He did not hesitate as he pulled the food in front of him, grabbed the cutlery that I had brought and spooned up a chunk of pumpkin purée.

He put it elegantly to his mouth and said approvingly, “It tastes just like it always does.”

“It does, doesn’t it? Try this foie gras! I think it’s even more tender than before.”

I waggled my

eyebrows and smiled as I prompted him to try the foie gras.

The foie gras from Whispers on the Wind was very fresh, and the bottom of the lunchbox was lined with a layer of ice. The foie gras was dipped in blueberry sauce, and the taste of it was very unique and fresh. Because of how much I had once loved Gordon, I had also fallen in love with the food that he liked.

Gordon speared a piece of foie gras and tasted it. It obviously suited his taste very well, as the smile on his face widened noticeably.

Whispers on the Wind had very unique dishes. The portions weren’t big, but they were very intricate, and Gordon finished both dishes in no time.

He wiped his mouth with a tissue, looking satisfied

Then he smiled and asked me, “Why are you being so nice to me today? Why are you making me feel so

warm and fuzzy?”

I giggled.

“Nothing much. I was just eating with Selena and Yvonne. I remembered you liked these dishes, so I brought some over.”

“You met Selena and the others?”

Gordon leaned back slightly in his chair. He was clearly not very busy at the moment, so I began to chat casually with him.

“Yes. We hadn’t met for a long time, so we just had a meal together. By the way, weren’t you looking for a long–term supplier of fresh flowers? The planting base of Selena’s flowers is excellent. I’ve been to see it,

and she has a wide variety of flowers. She also has a special team that does floral arrangements.”

I Intentionally brought the subject up to gauge his reaction.

Gordon’s eyebrows twitched when he heard this, and his eyes showed a sly look.

He looked at me with interest. With his intelligence, he must have guessed my motive for being so kind all

of a sudden.

“I knew that you wouldn’t show up for no reason.”

Since he had said so, I went around the office desk and walked behind him. I began massaging his shoulders.

“Your purchasing department has already done the comparisons. Selena’s flowers are fresh, and the variety is diverse. She can keep up a long–term supply at a reasonable rate. Holmes Group is such a big corporation, so the amount of flowers and plants you need daily is significant. Why don’t you support Selena’s business?”

My ice–cold fingers touched Gordon’s neck, and I began to gently apply pressure to the acupoint at the back of his neck. He obviously enjoyed it because he didn’t push me away. Instead, he took both my hands smoothly, so I had no choice but to lean against his back.

The position seemed oddly ambiguous. He had caught me off guard, and I blushed again.

“It’s not that I didn’t consider Selena, but you know that Sabrina took that knife wound for me. I owe her for that. Besides, my father owes them a huge favor as well, so I decided to give this order to Sabrina’s mother, It’s another way of helping them financially.”

Gordon’s large fingers gently rubbed the backs of my hands. He spoke softly and tenderly. Compared to how cold he had been to me in the past, he was much kinder now.
