The rebirth of planet Resoria Z9

Chapter 11

What sounded like a giant banging on my door woke me up from my deep slumber. I immediately looked over to the large glass closet at the farthest side of my room where my androids peacefully rested. Oddly it was not my androids who were the cause of the loud noise that woke me up. I watched the door like a hawk and waited for another noise to come out of the thin air.

Whoever stood on the other side of this door grew quiet and I hoped with every bone in my body that they would simply vanish and prayed for that their courage was not being built in this very minute. Straining my ears for any noise, the sound of heavy rain took over my senses. In an odd way it felt like the rain tried to soothe me like a baby.

Who am I to deny the very comfort that came with the rain? Just like that I turned to the other side and grabbed a handful of my blankets. What felt like in the midair when I turned my body the alarming loud noise erupted from the other side of the door. The small smile on my face was wiped clean off when it dawned upon me that I had no other choice than to get up and open the door. As I threw the covers off me I saw Bortums already on his way to the door and opened the door wide open.

Complete shock took over me. I could not simply believe the lack of respect I was receiving. A conversation was taken between them while I was wiping the drool off my face and trying to muster any confidence that no one saw me in this mess. I walked over to them and held the door wider open.

At this moment I had to practically squeeze myself between the small opening of the door and Bortums in order to be seen. The grumpy attitude I had died the minute I laid my eyes on the person who stood in front of us. It was the principal who fumbled with his words, stress rekt of him as he explained his reasons for waking me up at early this hour.

‘’ You should have seen the expression I wore when your android opened the door. I was more than alarmed and surprised you have really outdone yourself. This is truly wonderful. I have an urgent matter so I need you to listen closely and please do not cut me off no matter what questions come to your mind. I am in a hurry and he could be here any minute.

The very director of this University is on his way now to discuss your future and the androids. The first thing he wants to do is to meet you and your androids. I think this is a wonderful opportunity seeing it will collide with you in the future when your studies are finished and you have your exam diploma. He has countless connections that could have you work for Nasa. Do you understand what a tremendous opportunity this is for a young woman like you?.’’

I listened in closely to every word of his and the more he spoke my suspicions and my temper grew. How greedy could they be as he himself openly confessed that my future and my androids were being discussed by someone with enough power to hand me a spot among Nasa. The more I studied his facial expressions the more I started to believe that he was truly blind because he could not see the danger that would be brought up against me.

I knew that I would only be used as a bait and become tossed aside when the real prize was collected. The androids. I also caught that distasteful comment that came out his mouth even if he meant it as a good cause it was more than offensive. My gender has nothing to do with this. I am the very reason behind the androids existence and yet my gender is still brought up.

Even though I am not the reason behind the existence of the androids because of their arrival at the meteor I have to act as if I were in order to never let the truth come out. The minute I laid my eyes on the androids that night surrounded by mud I came across with a gift from the heavens and now the very second of my life is being plagued by people with power and greediness who want nothing more than to control my androids and me.

The principal was nothing more than impatient. I could see that he only wanted me to meet that director and had no care about my opinions on this matter. I realized that it was better to not reply back to his words and simply agree with a fake smile.

‘’ I am grateful for this wonderful opportunity, I see there is no time to waste so if you will excuse me I need to look presentable and round up my androids for this important event. I thank you once again for bringing this wonderful news. I know how stressful it must be to have all this responsibility. I will be down in a minute. ‘’

I said with the brightest expression I could wear. My facial muscles were tiring out and I could practically taste the sugar by how sweet my voice sounded.

‘’ This is why you are the golden student of Ford Ta Facon University. You are quick with reacting to life changing events and taking great responsibility to seize this wonderful opportunity. Here is the secret to why you are the one who managed to create artificial intelligence and not Thomas Jones. Seeing the design you chose for your androids makes me believe that you and I share a similar view that androids are not harmless unlike Thomas believes.’’

The principal said with a distasteful voice and was practically scolding Thomas. Meanwhile I was frozen in the spot by the rumor and information that was delivered to me, Thomas never told me the reason behind his failed work, the feeling of being used took over my senses. I had to be careful and not let my true expression come to the surface. I was lucky when the principal stepped away from the door and walked in the direction of what would perhaps be his office.

I immediately closed the door after him and let a scream out of pure agony. It alerted Talus and Ekvtron in the clear glass closet and the sound of doors slid open made me turn to their direction and inform them about the threat coming our way from the principal and director who only wants to control our very future.

‘’ This will only work if we have the same view upon this absurd opportunity by the director of this university. He is a dangerous man who has great connections and power that could easily place you into an army base and carry out dangerous missions where I would be left to bleed out in an unknown land. I don’t doubt for a second that I would be mysteriously reported as missing the minute I finish my studies and get my exam diploma.

Or worse my death would be written as a suicide report I hope you know that I love life to the greatest length and would never dream to end it. I have a plan and all you have to do is to listen to my commands and we will be out of this mess.''

The paranoia and suspicion burning inside of me made it easier for me to detect who had ill intentions towards us and who wanted to steal the androids from me. What is the difference between that? Well the difference is that stealing androids involves a suicide report on my death, a powerful greedy man who seeks destruction upon humanity or simply wants to use my androids in the army base.

Meanwhile having ill intentions is only the delusion of one believing they could take my androids from me. How truly foolish my principal is believing that I would accept an offer or sign a contract about my whereabouts after finishing my studies simply to work for Nasa or for a large paycheck that comes every month. I am far superior to live a life like that because I am written and documented as the creator of artificial intelligence and the greatness that comes with that is out of this world.

‘’ Do not worry, no one can make us commit actions that was not run through me, even if yourself ordered me to do anything it would be dismissed depending on my act of judgment.’’

Said Bortums with a determination that only his own act of judgment would be the decision if he obeys my orders. I suppose that goes not for Ekvtron because he is the easier one to pursue and convenient compared to the effort it takes to convenience the stubborn Talus.

‘’ We have to work this issue together, I will decline the offer and the three of you will only answer with a simple reply that you do not follow anybody’s orders other than mine.’’

I said with a stern voice and pariona lingering in my voice, I was terrified that someone could pursue my androids or in the worst case be fool enough to believe that they could simply program my androids with another order coming straight from them. That is an immense reason why I could not leave anyone alone with the androids or sign any contract.

I am more than aware that there is no programming on the androids but the thought of somebody could succeed in creating one frightened me to the core and made my thoughts turn into hysterical ones.

The androids waited patiently for me to collect myself and end the fear paralyzing my body. It was difficult to do so as my mind was flooded with that the director and principal will not stop until they achieve full control over my androids and me. I took a deep breath and grabbed the small cup with water sitting next to the table and drank from it in order to calm my senses down.

Each step I took to the office reminded me of John’s vile threats of how I would be in a debt I could never pay back with my sanity. Only because of his wretched mind and thoughts about me being offered private tutoring lessons from professor Mr. Smith sent his deranged mind into a panic. I felt an immense pity for his brain cells working hard to come up with a solution of depriving me of peace and quiet.

Taking one last sharp turn in the long halls, I arrived at the principal’s office and my mouth filled with a rotten taste as I read his name beside the door with small golden plates Richard Owen. I knocked on his door three times and waited as my androids stood behind me.

The door was opened by the principal who opened the door wide enough that I could see someone sitting on his golden chair. I could only suppose that person would be the very director that the principal was stressed about. I couldn’t help but think of how Mr.Owen was deprived of his own chair. It is truly absurd how the director could not even spare the dignity of the principal. What a vile person I am going to have to deal with.

Seeing this power duel made me firm and stern with declining any offers that were going to come my way. Before I fulfilled that, I decided to let my androids walk into the principal’s office with a nod to the direction of the office. The quick exchange between me and my androids sent them frightened by the heavy footsteps coming behind me and charging into the room with enough authority that the principal moved quickly out of the way, afraid that he would be crushed to death.

When my androids were perfectly lined up to the wall waiting for my arrival I walked in with slow steps hoping to strike terror in the director’s heart. What I hoped for the most was that my authority over the androids would be clear as the day.

The room grew silent and the sound of my shoes faded within time as I pulled the chair in front of me and took a seat in front of him. As the director's eyes laid upon me I could see his eyes flicker to my androids everytime he stared at me. I closed my fist and dug into my palm with my nails until I could feel the embrace of warm red liquid. My actions went unknown as I hid my hands under the table, my mind raced with thoughts that made my stomach burn the question of my present not being good enough after all the accomplishment that strings with it drove my mind insane.

While I was pulling myself out of the depth of my mind my gaze flickered sharp to the quick moments in front of me. The director’s eyebrow was raised for a split second and his head turned low to the principal's direction. Like a dog the principal was signalized by the director that he was in fact waiting for him to step out of his very own office.

The room became suffocating with the silent tension that was built as I waited for the director to speak. The tension grew as I could hear how the principal hesitated for a moment with his unease and wavering footsteps as he walked to the door and closed it behind him. I brought my attention back to the director and noticed how his hands reached for his tie and loosen it up a bit.

I was unsure of his actions and the motive behind it was he was trying to ease up the tension that was growing by untying his tie. His effort to look less intimidating did not ease my suspicion towards him, in fact my suspicion grew to an alarming rate when he treated my principal like a mere dog. If he was capable of forcing submission on a grown adult man what would be waiting for me when I reject his offer?
