Chapter 6

Chapter 6

“Where is your birthmark?” Those words echoed in my brain. Did I have a birthmark?!

I looked into his eyes as I decided to answer a question I did not understand.

“Did I have a birthmark before?”

Vance and Nadia sat still in silence for what felt like minutes until he broke

the silence.

“Well. You had one when we had first met and I had not looked at it again. Maybe it must have cleared up eversince and I had not noticed.” He said to her, He then smiled and leaned in forward to k*ss her. Nadia, who had been trying to go along with the whole lovey dovey mood suddenly. retreated. He drew closer to her attempting to k*ss her again but she

shifted back. He tried again and again but she kept shifting backwards until finally, he asked…

“What’s going on, Iris? What is the matter?”

But he got no response.

Iris and Vance had been together for years, and it had been a while since

they had last seen each other and so, he had expected she would be excited to see him or atleast make love to him. But he had to be understanding,

It had been a long day and they were both exhausted, but Vance was still determined to make the most of the night. He had been looking forward. to this all year round, and he was hoping to rekindle their flame.

In his alone time, He had made all the arrangements, from the romantic dinner to the soft music playing in the background. He had even lit some candles to set the mood. Everything was perfect, or so he thought.

But when he tried to make a move, Iris stopped him. She said she wasn’t in

the mood for S**. Vance was taken aback. He had been expecting this to be an intimate night for the two of them. Besides, the Iris he knew was always ready to have him.

He tried to persuade her, telling her that he had missed her and it had been quite a while since they had been together like this. But Iris still refused. She said she just wasn’t feeling it and didn’t want to force it.

What was happening?

Vance was disappointed, but he respected her decision. He knew she wasn’t the type to be pressured into anything. He put his arms around her and held her close, letting her know that he was there for her.

Iris appreciated the gesture, he could see. He made sure She knew he was trying to be understanding and he could see how grateful she was for that. She explained that she just wasn’t feeling it tonight, but that it didn’t mean she didn’t love him or that she was no longer attracted to him.

Vance nodded in understanding. He said he understood and he just wanted her to be comfortable. He said he would wait until she was ready.

Iris thanked him and they spent the rest of the night talking, cuddling, and just enjoying each other’s presence. Vance had felt it was a much-needed. reminder of why they were together in the first place.

His Luna had returned and he was excited. Although he was dying to know all about where she had been and everything else, he decided to let her know she was loved and valued. Everything would come later.

At the end of the night, he made sure to make her know that he still lov her and he had been Faithful to her while she was away. There was still a party that was being held outside for her return and he wanted to ask he to come out with him. Maybe attending their own party would remind h of how it use to be, but Iris refused. She said she needed rest and so they stayed back.

He k*ssed her goodnight and promised to stay by her side forever.

Nadia had to go along with whatever the man before her said as she was acting like she was someone else but deep down, she knew she was not his mate nor did she know him. As she laid there beside him, smiling as she caressed his face. He was an amazing man by the way he spoke and the way he acted towards her, but something did not feel right.

Nadia felt she did not belong there. She slowly laid there as she drifted. from reality into her subconscious mind. Within minutes, Nadia felt. sleepy and soon, she fell asleep.

Nadia had awoken but this time, she was in her dream world. She saw a village that was different from Oakwood and so were the people and the tribe. She looked up at the sky and something looked different about the moon. In her dream, someone called out to her- Nadia!! Nadia!!!

Nadia?

Why was she being called Nadia?! Wasn’t she Iris?

“Nadia.. where have you been?!.. we’re holding a meeting at the gathering square. Your mate is requesting your presence and you are already late. Hurry up!!”

Nadia paused in her tracks.

Who was that and why did they call her Nadia?!

Eager to find out about what was going on, Nadia followed the lady who had called her out to the gathering square. There, she saw a man who looked different from the man she remembered sleeping beside.

Who was he?

“Nadia. Why are you there? Come quickly… your seat is ready!” The strange man commanded her. She looked at the girl she had come with. for approval and she nodded, “Go on Luna!.. the show is about to start” she said.

Nadia nodded as she made her way up the stairs and into the podium. She sat beside the strange man and saw him smile at her.

What was he talking about?

She looked down at her belly and saw that she was pregnant.
