Chapter 24
Chapter 28
Nadia shook her head in the present. She could not believe that she had ever trusted Lyra in the first place. Lyra had left her there to die, she could tell. She clearly remembered it. That night on the mountain…
The figure had taken her to someplace safe. She did not dare to look up because she was scared and still a bit shaken from the moment before. She dared not add another problem to her life. Suddenly, it spoke, “Don’t you know no one is allowed on that cliff or did you intend to lose your life?”
Wait… it could talk??
Nadia remembered lifting her head to look upon the face that saved her. It was a handsome werewolf boy. He had saved her and was now standing before her, slowly shifting forms to its human side. Nadia swallowed hard. She was young but she could barely believe her eyes. The young boy in front of her was…
He was handsome. Really handsome. The young Nadia began to blush. She immediately dropped her face down to avoid him seeing her blush, that would be embarrassing for both her and him.
Nadia smiled to herself. Her shaken state gradually calmed down. The strange handsome boy was relieving her of her past memories. The young boy seemed to be confused as he asked her again, he wanted to know if she was suicidal or was she just doing it for fun.
“You should answer when someone talks to you, you know. Especially when that person saved your life” he said to her. Nadia immediately raised her head up
“I didn’t mean to seem rude, it’s just that my group and I had a test there. They dared me to climb down the cliff and grab a red cloth. I did that and when I got stuck, they all ran away” she answered, “Thank you for saving me. I might have died already if it weren’t for you. Thank you” she added.
The young boy nodded. “That’s right. If it weren’t for me, you’d be dead by now so you better be careful. I saw those girls you called friends. They aren’t your friends. You should leave them” he told her. Nadia watched him talk and in her present, she remembered why she had really loved him. He was her savior.
The
young wolf boy gave her some hot tea and walked her back to the village. He stopped at the entrance and asked her to continue the rest of the journey alone. She turned to him, “why? Aren’t you part of this pack? The Wildermont pack?” He stared at her and turned his back to leave. He did not give her a positive or negative reply.
As she got into the village, she walked past the house of the leader of the girl group.

Chapter 28
Nadia bent a little under to see if she could stop the girl but she couldn’t. Maybe they were back in the woods looking for her, she thought.
She walked past the house and was headed to Lyra’s house. She was sure Lyra wouldn’t. be home. She hoped to sit by the fence as she waited for Lyra. She was so eager to share her story with her.
The young Nadia got to Lyra’s fence and sat there quietly. She was recounting the story in her head as she would tell her friend. Suddenly, she heard giggles from the backyard. It seemed like Lyra’s family had guests. Nadia did not bother to look but when the giggles seemed like they were coming from younger people. Nadia thought to have a peak. She jumped off the fence and scurried her way there. As she got to the backyard, the giggles grew louder.
“It seems Lyra’s parents are having younger guest over today. Why don’t I just have a look?” She whispered to herself.
Nadia stuck her head out as she hid behind the wall. As she tried to make of the guest, her mouth fell. She was shocked.
It was Lyra and the girl group. They seemed to be having some sort of fun while they played games. One person was making them laugh. Nadia looked to see who it was and was more shocked when she saw it was the group leader. She leaned back in to take a breath and comprehend what her mind had just seen.
After a few seconds, she stuck her head out again. Nadia was a very optimistic child and so she stuck her head out. She decided she would listen in on their conversation, “maybe they were all seated there thinking of ways to save her” She told herself. Nadia listened in as she waited to hear them. The leader was calling her, Nadia an idiot and a weakling. She said she was useless to the pack.
“All girls are suppose to be smart or strong. That’s how we’re trained over here and so why is she different? She’s neither Smart not strong. It’s a good thing we got rid of her”
the
gang leader spoke. Everyone chorused a ‘yes‘ as Nadia could see them nodding their heads and cheering. Her heart broke instantly. She wanted to cry as she stood to her feet to leave but something told her to stay. Nadia took a deep breath and stayed put.
“I don’t think she’s that bad” someone said in the crowd. Nadia’s eyes searched to see who could have possibly stood for her. She wandered around searching for the owner of the voice until the person spoke again. It was Lyra. Lyra was defending her. She smiled.
“I think we just need to give her a little chance. She’s a pretty smart girl if you look thoroughly Lyra said again. Nadia could not stop smiling as she tightly squeeze her hand. At least, she had one friend who could defend her in her absence.
Hearing that, Nadia jumped to her feet and ran out their compound. She left too early.
