Chapter 471-480
Chapter 471
After a while, Romeo gently touched Arabella’s face and said, “I’ll wait here with you for your uncle and aunt.”
“No need; you can go ahead.” Arabella said, as if comforting a child, “Be good, be careful on the road, and don’t drive too fast.”
“I’ll call you when I get home.” Romeo withdrew his hand, looked at her affectionately for a few moments, then turned to walk towards the parking lot.
Arabella turned her head and saw Yolanda hiding in the bushes. She sneered, “Had enough fun taking pictures?”
Yolanda was surprised that Arabella could see her from such a distance and knew she was taking pictures.
Seeing Arabella coming towards her, Yolanda was a bit scared, but she braced herself and stepped out.
She was the first to attack, pointing at Arabella and scolding, “You’re really shameless, all cozy with David one moment and then close with Romeo the next! What, you can’t live without men?”
Cozy with David?
Unclear with Romeo?
Arabella found it funny. She raised her hand and slapped her. The sound was particularly crisp at night.
“Get over yourself! Seems like last time’s lesson wasn’t enough for you. This time you’ll learn again: Think before you speak, or else people might think you’re stupid.”
“You, you bitch, dare to insult me.” Yolanda covered her face, furious and about to fight back.
Just then, an RV drove over. A driver quickly got out and asked respectfully, “Ms. Bella, is there a problem? Do you need my–help?”
He finished speaking and then looked at Yolanda vigilantly.
“Just ignore her, Arabella got into the RV without giving Yolanda a second thought.
Yolanda was furious, knowing she was no match for Arabella with the driver protecting her.
“Wait and see, this isn’t over!” Yolanda threatened. Back in the hall, she saw Attlee and Olga fawning over a crowd.
“Mr. Collins, didn’t expect to see you here! I’m Attlee from–the Murphy group. Tonight, we’re hosting a party for my daughter. I was wondering if you’d like to join us for a drink.”
My husband doesn’t drink.” From the front of the crowd, the elegant and beautiful Louisa spoke coldly, “Even if he did, why would he want to have a meal with you?”
They had bullied their precious daughter before, and she hadn’t even settled the score yet!
Yet they had the audacity to come over and be annoying?
“Mrs. Collins, I’m sorry; my husband doesn’t know any better. Don’t be upset. Olga nudged Attlee’s elbow, hinting for him to apologize.
Attlee quickly put on a smile, slapping his mouth in an overly friendly way. “Yes, yes, yes, it’s my fault; I’m not good with words, Mrs. Collins; don’t take it to heart. Tonight, we just wanted to see you happy, so we got a bit eager and wanted to invite you for a drink, not knowing Mr. Collins doesn’t drink.”
The Collins family was very imposing; whether it was Kenneth’s family or Lucas’s, they all gave off a feeling of looking down from a high place. Under the powerful aura of this large family, Attlee felt like an insignificant bug, feeling very humble.
“But seeing you unhappy makes me happy, Mr. Murphy; please step aside.”
Seeing that Louisa didn’t intend to waste time with them, Attlee felt humiliated, but he didn’t want to miss such a great opportunity!
Before Olga could finish speaking, Louisa had already glanced at the lobby manager.
The manager immediately understood her meaning, stepped forward, and said, “I’m sorry, Mr. and Mrs. Murphy, could you please make way?”
He opened a path, and the Collins family walked by one by one. Their powerful presence made the Murphy family feel intimidated.
Watching Kenneth and Louisa’s retreating figures, Attlee couldn’t help but call out, “Mr. Collins, Mrs. Collins.”
Chapter 472
He was itching to say something, even if they disliked or looked down on him.
But the lobby manager and some waitstaff blocked his way; clearly they didn’t want Attlee and Olga to approach.
The Collins family was not your average rich family.
Take the Panter family, for instance; they outdo the Murphy family in many aspects. But all members of the Panter family combined don’t have the same vibe as Louisa alone.
Louisa’s elegance and nobility, etched by time, and the superiority shining in her eyes, that’s not something everyone can pull off.
“How come they’re not bankrupt yet? And they’re still in the mood to host dinners?” Louisa left the restaurant with a trace of displeasure on her delicate face. Kenneth comforted her affectionately, saying, “Soon. Their company is now an empty shell; I reckon tonight’s banquet is them putting on a brave face.”
The Murphy family now had no partners and no capital turnover, they were in chaos.
Just looking at Attlee tonight, he seemed to have aged considerably. The passion in his eyes had evaporated, replaced by decay and loss.
“When did these nobodies start to bother you? If need be) I can have someone deal with them.” Beverly, standing beside, revealed a noblewoman’s smile, speaking softly, “We don’t need to get upset over these nobodies; it’ll just age us.”
In the eyes of the true elites, these nobodies weren’t worth
mentioning.
Lucas, standing beside her, mocked, “Isn’t our Bella the only one who aced this year’s college entrance exam? That family just held a banquet, hanging a banner saying their daughter did well in the college entrance exam and has a promising future. If you didn’t know any better, you’d think they were so great. Just a small family, flaunting the slightest accomplishment.”
They didn’t know that the real strong ones kept a low profile..
Their perspective was so narrow.
“Enough about them. Be careful on your way home.”
Hearing Louisa say this, Beverly turned to Serena, asking affectionately, “Serena, would you like to come shopping with us and pick out a new dress?”
Serena was so anxious she was stomping her foot. “I really didn’t hit Alma! I didn’t hit anyone over a dress; no, I didn’t lift a finger!”
“Look at this child, all worked up.” Beverly couldn’t help but laugh, looking at Serena with a pleasant expression and saying, “Alright, I’m not blaming you. Since you don’t want the dress, I’ll get you something else next time. We can hang out some other time.”
“But listen.” Before Serena could explain, she heard Lucas laughing: “Our whole family loves Bella; we should get together more often; let us see more of her.”
Seeing their chauffeur drive up, Lucas opened the car door for his wife and kids, then exchanged some pleasantries before leaving.
Seeing them leave, Serena was really anxious since no one was listening to her explanation: “Mom, Dad, I really didn’t hit her!”.
“Alright, we’ll talk about this at home.” Kenneth soothed.
“If it weren’t for Bella’s gratitude towards Grace, I’d really want to wipe them all out in one fell swoop! A touch of discontent appeared on Louisa’s face; she was talking about the Murphy family. “Don’t tell Bella about what just happened; I don’t want her to feel disgusted.”
“Alright, your wish is my command.” Kenneth laughed.
Louisa was about to get in the car, then she seemed to ponder something, suddenly turning back and saying, “Mess with them some more.”
Chapter 473
If she can’t take them down in one shot, then just chipped away at them little by little. Whatever, don’t let them live comfortably.
They’ve been bullying Bella for so many years. Who would put up with that?
“No problem,” Kenneth agreed instantly.
The next morning.
Attlee and Olga, loaded with all sorts of gifts, arrived at Hope Hospital’s Room 301. As soon as they opened the door, they saw Grace chatting with a strange
woman.
The stranger was sitting by the bed, looking like a secretary, stern–faced and professional, seemingly agreeing with whatever Grace was saying. “Mom, you’re awake? Who’s this?” Olga was instantly curious and wary of this stranger as soon as she stepped into the room.
It was only half past seven in the morning, and this woman had come so early. What was she discussing with Grace?
Upon seeing them, the stranger immediately stood up and politely said to Grace, “If there’s nothing else, I’ll be going now.”
“Okay,” Grace answered simply. Seeing them come in with a mountain of gifts, her face instantly turned serious. “Why are you here? Get out!”
“Mom, you haven’t told us who this person is.” Olga only wanted to know the stranger’s identity. What was her relationship with Grace? What was she doing for Grace? Was it related to the will?
With these thoughts, she immediately blocked the stranger’s exit, smiling as she asked, “Are you a relative of ours or someone else? I’m sorry, but I don’t think I’ve seen you before.”
The stranger did not answer her question, only politely saying, “I’m sorry, could you please let me pass?”
With no intention of backing down, Olga was getting a bit pissed.. It looked like the woman didn’t take her seriously at all.
Seeing that Olga wouldn’t give way, the stranger forced her way past and exited the room, shutting the door behind her.
This made Olga even more pissed. The woman’s manners and attitude were just plain awful! She’ll show her!
“Mom, you didn’t buy insurance, did you?” Attlee asked when he saw the woman in the black suit. She looked a bit like an insurance agent..
“Ha, you all wish I’d kick the bucket sooner! Even if I gave all my property away after I die, I wouldn’t leave you a penny!” Grace said, coughing a few times in anger. She coldly added, “What did you come for this time? To take my phone, my bracelet, or the flowers made of gems?”
Last time, Olga took advantage of her fainting to take all the things Bella had given her, which had made her condition worse.
Luckily, Bella had managed to get everything back, and she even bought her some expensive medicine. Otherwise, she might already be six feet under.
They’d have to visit her at her grave, then!
“Mom, how could we dare to steal your things?” Olga put on an innocent face. “Last time, we saw you faint and were worried that your valuable items would be stolen, so we kindly helped you keep them safe, but you misunderstood our good intentions and let Bella make a scene at our place. I fell down and twisted my waist because of it, and I couldn’t get out of bed for days.”
“Serves you right,” Grace replied expressionlessly, adding sarcastically, “Aren’t you the thieves at home? Real thieves would feel inadequate in front of you.”
Despite her discomfort, Olga still put out the breakfast one by one. “Mom, you’re joking again! We asked the nurses last night, and they said you could eat these for breakfast. Why don’t you eat a bit first?”
Ever since last time, when she saw their true colors, Grace had grown even more disgusted with them. Right now, she glanced coldly at the breakfast on the table. “Take it away.”
She was thinking, They might have poisoned the food!
Chapter 474
“Mom, don’t worry, there’s no poison.” At this moment, Attlee was sitting by the bed, looking at Grace’s face helplessly. “We know you’re mad, and yeah, we messed up. We shouldn’t have put Bella’s info on that missing persons site, leading to your separation.”
Grace, hearing these words, was a bit taken aback. Had something unusual happened today? Her son was actually reflecting on his actions. That was a rarity.
I
“Last time we visited, we really took to heart what you said.” Attlee looked genuinely remorseful; his head hung low in regret.
Grace had previously mentioned that ever since they put Bella’s info on the missing persons site, the Murphy family had hit hard times, driving away their fortune without even realizing.
“Bella’s been doing so well in school all these years, and you never even told me.”
Hearing this, Grace found it a bit funny and immediately retorted, “When did I not tell you? Every time I call you, the minute I start talking about Bella, you lose interest. You’re always ‘busy‘, ‘in a meeting‘, ‘doing something else‘. Basically, you never want to make time to hear me out.”
That was a fact, and Attlee had no retort.
“The rare times you guys do call me, it’s always to borrow money or for some boss’s contact. After giving you the money and the contact info and just starting to fill you in on Bella’s recent situation, you guys are already rushing to hang up!”
“Well, you could’ve texted me!”
“Don’t you guys know that from middle school onwards, the school system would automatically send Bella’s homework and monthly exam results to you? Bella got full marks on every test just to gain a bit of your favor!”
This was news to Attlee; he hadn’t realized that Bella had been doing so well in school all these years or that she had been longing for their attention this whole time.
They really screwed up on this front.
But he had absolutely no clue that the school system sent homework and grades…
Olga, standing off to the side, was looking even more upset. She suddenly remembered that she used to receive texts from the school about Bella’s homework, vocabulary/words to memorize, and tests to take!
She was so annoyed by the constant texts that she called the school and gave them a piece of her mind, and the texts stopped.
But Bella didn’t know about this; she thought her parents could see her grades, so she studied hard every day.
“So you also didn’t tell us that Bella is the founder of QY Corp!” Attlee’s words held a hint of blame.
“You guys don’t even care about your own child, and now you’re blaming me? Bella is still underage; she didn’t want to make you feel inferior to a minor, so she’s always been mindful of your feelings. These past few years, she’s been helping you guys out behind the scenes. Do you really think the Murphy family could be as prosperous as it is today with your level of intelligence?”
Olga was immediately defensive: “Mom, even though Arabella is the founder of QY, the Murphy family’s success today is clearly due to me and Attlee’s hard work over the years.”
“Hard work?” Grace scoffed, “Take the recent events as an example; you guys wanted to invest in a few projects. Bella practically spoon–fed you the right paths to take; she practically handed you the money on a silver platter! Yet you guys lost all your capital. Bella had to cover for you with a hundred million dollars!”
Olga and Attlee were both shocked and unable to believe it.
“There’s a lot more where that came from. That kid truly cares about you guys, but how have you treated her over the years?”
Chapter 475
Attlee asked in shock, “Mom, are you for real? Has Bella been doing all this for us for so long?”
“You know damn well. Look at QY; they’re so powerful; why would they collaborate with you? Because of your abilities? Or because you have some special resources?”
Attlee and Olga turned pale at their mother’s words.
“If it wasn’t for all the boneheaded decisions you’ve made over the years and Bella having to clean up your mess, you’d probably be filthy rich by now!” Though Olga was skeptical, seeing her mother so indignant and considering everything that had happened, including Arabella’s creation of the huge QY, she started to believe.
Grace, struggling to suppress a fit of coughing, finally said, “You should be thanking her for me still being here!”
Attlee and Olga were stunned, looking at her in disbelief. Arabella didn’t do anything! She didn’t know medicine and didn’t pay any bills; why should they thank her? Seeing their expressions, Grade chuckled. “You really think you two could afford my stay in this VIP ward?”
This was Hope Hospital. It’s just a regular VIP ward, but they can’t just throw money at it; they need connections!
“Caden Newton is my personal physician, thanks to Bella!”
“Also, I take a medication twice a month, a million dollars a pop, for three consecutive months before surgery can be performed! Bella gave me that!”
“You two think paying some hospital bills and visiting me once or twice a month is enough to fulfill your duties? Ha.”
“Bella and I are not blood related, but she’s helped us the most! You’re ungrateful, constantly hurting and humiliating her.”
Whatever Grace said next, Attlee couldn’t hear. His mind was buzzing.
He suddenly remembered that a while ago, he was afraid Arabella would keep bothering Grace at the hospital, and he considered transferring Grace to another hospital.
But Caden told him the best medical resources were at Hope Hospital, and if she was transferred, Grace would probably pass away soon..
He asked Caden if there was any other way to save Grace besides staying at Hope Hospital.
Caden said there was a medication only available on the black market for a million dollars a pill that Grace would need to take twice a month for three consecutive months before surgery could be performed.
He was too stingy to pay for it then, but,
Everything Grace said lined up perfectly with what Caden had told him. If Arabella hadn’t given Grace those pills, how could Grace possibly know about the black market prices and the cost of the medication? How could she have recovered so well? Her condition once left many doctors clueless.
Chapter 476
Thinking back, Attlee remembered Caden once saying that Grace’s health was all thanks to Arabella.
They used to dismiss this girl’s capabilities, but were they wrong?
He suddenly sneered at himself for how arrogant they had been, actually believing that Arabella needed to find a job or rely on wealthy folks to live in Summerfield. Three years ago, the rise of the QY brand was all because of Arabella. She had way more funds and resources than they did; she didn’t need a job, nor did she need to depend on a man’s money.
Not to mention her piano talent and her excellent grades at a prestigious school.
Every time they blamed her for not caring about herself, she would respond with sarcasm and disdain. They really misunderstood her.
She was standing on her own two feet in Summerfield.
Every time she went to the hospital, it was to deliver expensive medicine to Grace, not to fight for her inheritance.
Grace’s shares were worth thirty million dollars, but just these expensive medicines cost her six hundred thousand dollars, plus the smartphones, bracelets, jewels, and other gifts she had given.
It exceeded the total value of the old lady’s shares.
She hadn’t had any inappropriate relationships with men. She knew Caden that’s why Caden became the old lady’s primary doctor.
She was the founder of QY, so it only made sense that she was close with Dylan from Allbara Investment.
She didn’t lack wealth or resources, and she didn’t need to depend on men.
It was they who were full of themselves, misunderstanding her.
“Mom, hearing you say this, I really regret it; I blame myself.” Olga cried bitterly, and after a while, she raised her eyes and said, “We owe her so much!”
Before Grace could speak, Olga’s tears flowed again, and she regretfully said, “Mom, can you help us, play the peacekeeper, and reconcile us with her? If you speak, she will certainly forgive us.”
Grace shook off her hand, coldly saying, “I can’t help you.”
“Mom, we don’t know who else to turn to other than you; please help us!”
Olga once again grabbed her hand, tears streaming down as she begged, “We thought we were so great these years, but it turns out Arabella was helping us all along. We really regret it. We are so upset. Can you help us? Give us a chance to make amends?”
Grace didn’t answer, turning her face away, obviously not believing her words.
“You don’t want to see our family decline, right? If dad could see from heaven, how sad and upset he would be to see the relationship between Arabella and our family now?”
Attlee knelt down, eyes filled with tears, and said, “Mom, please help us! The company has been in so much trouble recently that I’ve sold many of my properties and shops, but it’s still not enough to save the company; it’s going under!”
“The company wasn’t built by you guys; even if it goes bankrupt, you shouldn’t be here feeling sorry for yourselves!”
Grace finally understood that they were not truly regretful; they just didn’t want to see the company go bankrupt, lose their status as the wealthiest, and lose this luxurious lifestyle.
This was what they really cared about!
Chapter 477
“If the company goes under, you guys totally have it coming, Grace said angrily.
Attlee took a couple of steps forward and knelt, tightly holding his mother’s hand. “Mom, it’s not just about the company. A few days ago, Yoli said some not–so–nice things, and Bella might’ve misunderstood. She’s even talking about suing Yoli. She’s not just demanding compensation but also a public apology from Yoli. Yoli might even end up in jail.”
This meant that Bella was totally not backing down and was determined to make Yoll pay!
“Well, Yoli must have said something really out of line to get Bella to react this way. Grace didn’t ask for details but instead said, “Bella did the right thing!” “Mom? You just sided with Bella without even asking? Isn’t Yoli your own granddaughter? How can you let a stranger bully your own flesh and blood?”
Olga got so worked up that she almost blew her cool. If Attlee hadn’t shot her a look, she would’ve kept going.
“Mom, Yoli really messed up this time,” Attlee picked up, with a shameful look on his face. “I made Yoli apologize to her privately. Olga and Yoli both knelt before Bella. I tried to smooth things over, but Bella’s totally lost faith in us.”
Seeing that Grace still ignored him, Attlee took another step forward. “Mom, would you call her over for us? We’ll apologize to her again, even kneel if we have to!” Olga clenched her fists. Apologize to Bella again, on their knees? They’d totally lose face! Attlee’s suggestion was absolutely boneheaded.
“Are you guys really sorry when you apologize on your knees?”
Before they could answer, Grace sneered and said sarcastically, “You guys are just trying to save your own skins. You can’t stand the thought of losing your current status. Do you really think that a half–hearted apology would make Bella go all in for you like before?”
Attlee looked embarrassed. He didn’t expect his mother to see through them so clearly, unswayed by their tears and sweet talk.
All he could do was plead, “Mom, you’re the key to all this. That girl respects you so much. We don’t mind if she doesn’t acknowledge our efforts in raising her, but you’ve taken care of her all these years. If you ask her for anything in return, she’ll surely agree!”
Helping the Murphy family out of their crisis and not suing Yoli, Bella could totally do it!
The smile on Grace’s face turned colder. She never thought she’d see the day where her son and daughter–in–law would be so heartless, asking her to demand payback from Bella.
What nerve you guys have to say all these things!” Grace swept the breakfast off the small bedside table onto the floor. “You guys just don’t know when to quit You only want to take advantage of Bella!”
“Mom.”
“Get out! Don’t bother coming back!”
The sudden movement of breakfast being swept onto the floor scared Olga. If the food hadn’t landed on the other side, they would’ve been the victims!
She had specially chosen an expensive dress for her visit to the hospital today, and it was almost ruined.
Luckily, nothing happened, or else she would’ve had to foot the dry cleaning bill.
Seeing how angry his mother was, Attlee quickly stood up and gently patted her back. “Mom, don’t be upset. We really want to make peace with Bella; it’s not like what you think.”
“Get out.” Grace didn’t want to hear any more of their excuses. She was so mad she couldn’t stop coughing, her face turning red.
Chapter 478
Attlee, worried it might trigger her illness, quickly said, “Alright, we’re leaving; don’t get angry. There’s still breakfast in that bag; you can have it later.”
“If you guys don’t leave, I’m going to call someone! Take your stuff and get out!”
1
“Okay, okay.” Attlee quickly helped Olga’up, signaling her to leave.
Olga gave him a dirty look. Why should they leave? The issue wasn’t resolved; they needed Grace’s help. Otherwise, that girl, Arabella, won’t drop the lawsuit; she won’t go all in like before.
They were just begging Grace in tears, wasting a lot of precious breakfast. They needed to fix this today.
Otherwise, it’s a mega loss!
“Let’s go!” Attlee grabbed her hand and forced her to leave.
As soon as they stepped out of the room, Olga couldn’t help but shake off his hand, scolding him, “What are you doing? If Grace agrees, maybe Bella would even give us QY or even let us plot for a position to become nominal shareholders. Wouldn’t that be a better deal?”
“Didn’t you see how pissed she was?” Attlee glanced at the hospital door and helplessly said, “Let’s go; we’ll figure something out when we get back.”
“I really don’t get it; has Grace gone senile? Favoring a stranger over her own family,” Olga couldn’t understand: What’s so great about that girl, Arabella?
Besides being sort of pretty and having some power and money, her aloof personality and inner wildness were simply not appealing.
“We can visit her more in the future; she’s soft–hearted, and she’ll agree eventually. The woman today, though, Attlee thought of the woman who was sitting by the bed talking to Grace this morning.
Who the hell was she?
What did she say to the old lady?
Why did she leave as soon as she saw them?
Were there any secrets she didn’t want they to know?
“That’s easy,” Olga took out her phone, dialed a number, and ordered, “Help me find someone. A woman who left Hope Hospital room 301 at seven–thirty this morning, about twenty–six or seven, with short hair, glasses, and professional attire. Find her and bring her to the place I specify; I’ll handle her personally
That woman didn’t even look at them in Grace’s room, didn’t say who she was when asked, and just left!
They can’t do anything to Grace, but the people around her, they can teach them a lesson!
On the other hand, they sent a lot of valuable jewelry.
This year, she made a medicinal pouch for the old lady to hang by her bed to aid sleep.
She handmade the pouch, filled it with rare herbs, and then stitched it up..
- “This is the most expensive medicinal pouch I’ve ever seen.” Her assistant couldn’t help but exclaim while watching her busy figure, “Even her own sons aren’t as devoted as you, not to mention making a pouch like you; they wouldn’t even buy one if asked, believe it or not.”
“Stop bothering me.” Arabella couldn’t stand his chatter, sealed the pouch, and made a bunch of medicinal packages for Grace, which could be soaked in water for a foot bath before bed..
Not only did she make the pouch and medicinal packages, but she also designed a massager herself.
Chapter 479
Most massage devices on the market were of the microcurrent type, but many people weren’t really into that. They preferred the traditional massage method instead. Although a lot of manufacturers claimed their products use physical massage, only the one she made can truly émulate human hand kneading. The massage device she designed felt like real hands massaging shoulders. She spent several days of her free time tweaking and improving it bit by bit. Her assistant, seeing that she finally finished, couldn’t help but reach out and say, “Boss, can I give it a whirl?“”
Arabella gave him a glare, and he immediately got the message, withdrawing his hand.
1
He thought to himself, ‘Man, the boss’s glare is intense. If you didn’t know better, you’d think he was reaching for her life, not a massage device.’ “Boss, are we selling this on the market? It feels really nice to use.”
“It’s for the old lady.” Her response indicated that this product wasn’t for public sale.
The massage device had various functions, like heat therapy, finger massage, etc.
Just then, Arabella’s phone started vibrating. She glanced at it and saw that it was a call from Grandpa Alberto.
“Grandpa,” she put in her earphones, tapped to answer, and continued with her work.
“What are you up to, kid?” Alberto Rollins‘ voice came through from the other side.
Even though it was through a call, Arabella could imagine him–lively and full of energy.
She told him what she was doing: “I’m making a sleep aid sachet, some herbal packs for foot baths, and a massage device.”
“Can I have some too?” Alberto especially liked her inventions, finding them very useful. Like the pills she gave him last time, they really helped clear his mind and boost his energy.
Arabella agreed quickly: “The herbs, sure. But not the massage device; I just don’t have the time to make another one. You could buy one from the market.”
“You little scamp,” Alberto chuckled. Many people wanted to give him gifts, but this kid wasn’t so willing.
“Has your Granny taken the medicine six times now? Can she have the surgery in a few days?” This was what Alberto cared about the most.
“Yep, that’s correct.”
Thanks to the medicine, she wasn’t as weak as before; at least she could lie on the operating table steadily, which put Arabella at ease for the surgery.
“How sure are you?” Grandpa Alberto asked.
Arabella chuckled. “If you don’t trust my medical skills, how about letting Grandpa James do the surgery?”
“I don’t want that old fart to operate! He’s so old, his eyes are probably blurry. He probably can’t even tell where the heart is. I’d rather you do it; I’d feel safer.”
Arabella laughed even harder. “I know you care a lot about Granny, it’s just that you can’t show it publicly.”
“I heard from you that your Granny doesn’t want to live with her son and daughter–in–law after she’s discharged.”
“Yes, she has a few houses of her own; she just hasn’t decided which one to live in yet and hasn’t had anyone clean them.”
“That’s easy; just tell me the address when the time comes, and I’ll send people to clean it! If she doesn’t want to be disturbed, she can live in your house or mine, as long as she’s comfortable. No matter what type or style she likes, we can accommodate her! Feel free to pick.”

Chapter 480
“No need to bother yourself with the cleaning.” Arabella, busy with what she was doing, said casually, “It’s just a small matter, there’s no need for your folks to help.” She had her own people to assign tasksito.
“Alright, if you need help, remember to find me.” Alberto said with a cheerful smile, “By the way, you aced your college entrance examination; we old folks have prepared a little gift for you and already had it sent over to your place.”
Arabella was completely focused on the massager in front of her, her voice indifferent: “Hmm, I saw it, I haven’t opened it yet. Is it another new house?” Alberto immediately denied: “I wouldn’t be as tacky as Grandpa Charles!”
“Is it jewelry? Accessories?”
“That’s something an old–fashioned guy like Grandpa Beck would do, not me!” Alberto said this with some pride.
“Then is it a rare antique? An expensive painting?”
“No, no, no, that’s Grandpa Nelson’s style; what I gave is totally different!”
“Is it a bank card?”
“Only Grandpa Tanner would give such a straightforward gift.”
“Oh, I see, it’s shares.”
“Clever girl, you guessed it so quickly? Was my gift too predictable?” Alberto thought she wouldn’t guess it, but she figured it out in less than 30 seconds.
“Your gifts are always these things, indeed lacking some novelty.” Although she said so, Arabella knew they had given her the best: “No need to give anything in the future.”
“No, we give you gifts because we’re happy.” Alberto said this, glanced at the time, and sighed helplessly, “Alright, I have a meeting to attend; I’ve got to go. When can you maturé à bit and help me manage the company? I also want to live an easy life.”
“I’m still young; you hang in there for a few more decades.”
“You little brat, you don’t care about me at all! Alright, call me when you have time! You can also tell me if you have any problems. Don’t seek help from other old folks; they always nag non–stop, which is really annoying! Just come to me; you can come to me for anything.”
Arabella couldn’t help but laugh. “Alright.”
The next day.
Olga stormed into room 301, and as soon as she entered, she angrily questioned, “Mom, how could you do this? Have you lost your mind? You actually left a will in the Solterra will vault in advance, and you gave all the stuff at home to Arabella? How could you do this? Have you considered our feelings?”
She didn’t even use honorifics when talking to the old lady; she was so angry that her whole body was trembling.
Grace was sitting on the bed, reading the book Arabella had given her previously. Hearing this, she looked up, unhappily asking, “It’s my stuff; I can give it to whoever I want. What right do you have to barge in and question me? Did I agree for you to come in? Out! Knock the door again!”
